Sat at the bar for drinks and the a la carte dinner menu. Cocktails (Pear, Passionfruit) are inventive and delicious and the wine program is outstanding. Even though we weren’t doing the full tasting the food thoroughly impressed - standouts were the duck, mushrooms, and fluke. Pricey for sure even sitting at the bar but we will certainly be back to try the field guide. 5 stars all around and well deserved.

Hard to capture lightning in a bottle like they did. I know it's too new for Michelin Stars, but I felt it fell squarely in line with what I expect for a two-star Michelin restaurant, and I hope they get the honors in the fall. Flawlessly executed fresh food, novel presentations, and attentive service. Yeah, it's expensive, but I've had a lot of meals at that price point that weren't half as good

I love this place. Will Douillet treats his guests like family and the food was spot on. Worth every penny for the ambiance and food experience. I will be back again for sure.

A meal that is a true experience of culture and cuisine. it’s rare to find an establishment that prioritizes preserving the flavor of the high quality ingredients rather than lathering it in dairy and spices. My wife and I enjoyed all 12 courses, the presentation was gorgeous and I would highly recommend it for a special occasion.Service was great and I highly suggest the wine pairing!

Ilis was a transcendent 12-course dining and drink pairing experience made for culinary food enthusiasts. I felt like it a dining experience from Japan because of their intentionality of perfectly cooked ingredients. Instead of using heavy butter and cream, they do an excellent job showcasing the natural flavors of in-season produce using homemade oils, salts and citrus. It was uniquely health-conscious and light. The primal ambiance, with plates and cutlery crafted from natural elements adds a unique touch. I ate ingredients I’ve never had before such as the 3 day old bamboo. The attentive service and detailed explanations enhance the experience. The minimal yet sophisticated rustic ambiance completes this gastronomic adventure.

We had an absolute blast enjoying the Cocktail Tasting in the lounge. Each of the five courses were delicious and paired with some of the best cocktails we've ever had! This is the perfect stop before a fun night out!

We were very excited to try this place being fans of Alinea and Noma, but this experience fell short of our expectations in many ways.Service:Everyone was pleasant and friendly, but they really need to pay more attention to detail. We noted in our Resy reservation one of us has a scallop aversion, responded to an email asking us about dietary restrictions of said scallop aversion, then told our server about the scallop aversion when we seated after being asked again of dietary restrictions. She also did not appear to have known about the restriction beforehand, which made us feel like she did not even bother reading the note, and reassured us the scallop aversion isn’t an issue. Then guess what, I still got served scallops! One apology, and 10 minutes of waiting later, they brought over a carrot soup. This isn’t a big issue but this shouldn’t be happening at a restaurant charging close to $400 per person. Also thankfully, it wasn’t an allergy. We also did not leave with a menu explaining the food we ate or list of wines we got to try, which is the norm for restaurants of this price point and caliber. There also were no snacks/treats to take home (also customary of restaurants in this price point) and no add ons to the menu (or we weren’t made of aware of such options). Our check was dropped on the table the moment our desserts were taken away (as in our server with the check was right behind the other server taking away our plates), which we also don’t experience often… usually, the check is brought over when asked. We also started off with ordering 2 cocktails that never came and our server completely forgot about.Food: Honestly, it was OK. Nothing tasted bad but nothing was outrageously impressive either. The antelope was interesting and we appreciated the eel, but nothing was innovative, which we expected based on the founder being a Noma alum.We aren’t people with big appetites but we found ourselves not stuffed to the brim, which also is not the norm for us at these kinds of restaurants. If they had not given us the bread course, we would likely be still hungry afterwards. We could imagine some people could leave hungry.Wine pairing: phenomenal and we really appreciated the inclusion of sakes, which paired really well with the seafood-heavy menu. Highlight of our meal.Space:The space is gorgeous. High-end Brooklyn warehouse vibes, very different from the other similar fine dining experiences in the city (comparing mostly to Aska, also in Brooklyn and Scandinavian).Summary: It was OK - but it was too expensive and the backgrounds of the founders are too impressive to be just OK. It should’ve been phenomenal, and it COULD have been. Hope this review helps them do better because I really want this place to succeed. Our other friends have tried the cheaper menu (Market Menu) at $195 and had a better experience. You even get a fun activity of choosing your ingredients, which the Field Menu does not provide. I think we would’ve left happier if we had done that, as nothing in the Field Menu made it feel like we had pay the premium for a reason. I would love to come back and try their cocktail experience, as it reminds me of Aviary, but I would skip their dining experience for now.

Absolutely great experience! Food is innovative and delicious. Nice cocktail menu (we loved the “passion fruit”!). The only down side is the portion. We normally cannot finish a pre fix menu but this time we left still wanting more.

I was hoping so bad that some of the food in the menu was good !! Because the place is beautiful and the service is 5 stars , but I wasn’t lucky at all ,some courses where just ok and some where actually bad ..I don’t know if we where unlucky with the food that night , if not I hope someone rescue this beautiful kitchen asap… I heard the references to Noma all over but having been to Noma several times Ilis is not even in the same culinary neighborhood..

Came to the bar and ordered a La carte, which gave us the ability to try things but not spend a ton of money. To start: cocktails were great. We had the clam & whelk, which were great, the antelope, also wonderful, and the bone marrow, which was really good too. We ordered the aged quail, which left a lot to be desired, especially the little gems salad that felt like an after thought. We then, sadly, ordered the desert: their take on a bread pudding. To say this was a disappointment is generous. I wish they had hired an actual pastry chef to give an amazing end to a really good meal, but alas, I was stuck with something that tasted like wet dog food. Also, this place is an introverts nightmare as they escort you to the bathroom and the front door, and as we were the first ones in, the entire staff was lined up as we walked in and they all welcomed us. I could absolutely do without that experience ever again. Overall: I liked the appetizers a lot, loved the cocktails, and enjoyed most of the experience.

This was an incredibly cool experience. We are lucky to have this place in our city. The space was beyond amazing! The food was spectacular, and each dish had an interesting twist. I love that there are multiple experiences from which to choose. We had the market menu, and it was perfect for us, since we did not want to consume a huge meal - another time perhaps.
