I started coming to Ix in 2015 because it was so close to one of my favorite yoga studios! It was more if a cafe back then, but I watched it grow over the years into what it is now: a full fledged restaurant with events and musical guests. The staff creates such a family environment, it doesn't take too many visits for them to start recognizing you. The food at Ix is hearty, satisfying and an absolute journey of flavor profiles that are difficult if not impossible to find anywhere else in the city. I bring people here all the time and it has never disappointed. My favorite dishes are the hot figs and any/all of the soups.

A Guatemalan/Mexican oasis on a busy street. Honestly Ix is such a great restaurant for a night out with family and friends. The staff is incredibly kind and accommodating, and the inside and outside seating is comfortable, clean, and the ambiance is lovely. Inside we've gotten to enjoy dinner and drinks with live music our toddler loved. And outside is heated and covered from the busy Lincoln Road foot traffic. My favorite menu items are Black beans and chips Crazy corn in a cup Melted cheese with blue corn tortillas and loroco Caldo Ix (vegan) All soups can be made vegan and divided up which is amazing!!! And I've never had loroco (a vegetarian option) before but I'm so glad ix introduced me. The menu, the setting, and the staff all make this place special.

The frijoles and nachos appetizer was good, would be better with refried black beans. Ordered the shrimp sliders and cheese dip appetizers. Sliders were delicious, especially the sauce, and we could've skipped the cheese dip. I tried one of the stews and it was good and filling. Nothing I would come back for. Be prepared to wait if you don't have a reservation. But once you're seated, the service is fast and attentive. We went during a live music night, which was fun but a bit loud. It's a small space so I recommend lowering the volume just a bit. Overall, it was a good time and I would come back again to try their hot chocolate.

Ix is a total gem. The food is consistently amazing, no matter what you get, and the chef/owner is always there keeping an eye on things. My favorite is the tlalpeno rojo.

I love it here, their omlettes and soups are amazing. Recently I tried their brunch menu and it was beyond my expectations (which were high to begin with). 10/10.

Good vibe, the Tlalpeno Rojo soup is brilliant. The hot figs are a treat to share. Loco corn is also good. Chicken sandwiches are not their specialty. Delicious volcanic hot sauce. Neat weird variety of hot chocolates you can grab to go for a park stroll on a cold day.

One of my favorite places in NYC.The service is lovely and the food is fantastic. The chips that they bring out with every order are lovely. Their sandwiches are great, my favorite is the French onion dip. And the chicken dinner... absolutely amazing. There's more than enough food to bring some home for lunch tomorrow. But the real standout is the drinking chocolate. If you haven't had drinking chocolate before... you're in for a treat. Totally unique, totally delicious, like hot chocolate but a million times better. I'd recommend getting the children's size to start off, unless you're splitting with a friend. Also, it can be a bit difficult to find, since it's under an overhang. But just look for the jaguar mural, the restaurant is worth it.
