This has to be the WORST restaurant I've been to in my life. Waited 15 mins to be seated when the entire place was empty??? The first table we were seated in smelled like sweaty socks so we had to move to another table Rolls took forever to be prepared and the salmon skin roll was BURNT‼ I felt like I was eating charcoal. I ordered the nabeyaki udon and it tasted like something out of a student dormitory. The broth was literally boiled water. The oysters gave me food poisoning... $1 for each oyster more like $1 for each trip to the bathroom!!!

The restaurant was entirely empty and it took me and my family a long while to be seated. The salmon skin of the roll we ordered was burnt and the food came very slowly. The nabeyaki udon ordered was bland and lacked flavor. The atmosphere is nice.

It was pretty good. The service was slow, but everything was fresh and cooked to perfection. However, while we were there there were a bunch of drunk old men who were very loud and disrespectful. However, the servers did really nothing to fix that. The only thing I really enjoyed was the soup and spicy edamame. It's a pretty place but I wouldn't say it's worth the hype.

Came in tonight looking for a sushi place that was open on the later side and came across Izakaya Sushi & Lounge. We were seated immediately with a decent amount of people in the restaurant. The restaurant from the outside looks like a hole in the wall but on the inside was quite modern looking and chic which was a pleasant surprise. The music also had a bunch of chill covers of pop songs, which personally I enjoyed We ordered the Izakaya pizza for appetizer and then a bunch of different rolls. The pizza admittedly took a little longer than we expected but then again we were starving, and it was definitely worth the wait with a bunch of color, flavor, and textures between the fish, sauce, and fried pancake. The rolls were equally as good with the fish tasting quite fresh, flavors complementing each other well, and good size. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive, constantly refilling our tea and water without asking even before the cups were empty. Overall, great experience and will definitely try to come back with the rest of the family. P.S. the bathrooms were very sick. Clean, kept the same atmosphere as the restaurant, and had cool amenities like the mouthwash dispenser (with paper cups of course)

Yummy sushi local joint. Fresh fish great atmosphere and appetizers. There is an abundance of sushi spots on the block but this is our preferred place to dine. AJ is very nice and makes sure you're well taken care of.

well. Just received the order. Tray of sushi and lunch specials. Terrible. Just terrible. Huge chunks of veggies and a taste ( just a taste) of fish. Rolls were done by waiter, and definitely not by a chef. Almost broke my tooth on a crunchy piece of eel. Tray presentation is alwaful and looks like a homemade sushi rolls. Honestly, I can do a better job putting it together. Not sure why this place gets almost 5 star reviews. There is no quality there. Never again.

This is a great spot in the neighborhood with great service. The sushi is great and they have some amazing rolls. Their portions are huge so try sharing with people. I really loved the gyozas, skewers, and the hibachi.

I came here after a solo date on a Friday afternoon and it was pretty empty. Why? I'm not sure because the food is delicious and the service is good! The interior is beautiful, perfect for a girls night, solo date, date night, any night you name it! For appetizer I had the calamari which was cooked well but lacked seasoning. The dipping sauce was tasty, it was like a mix of duck sauce and chili sauce. The American Dream Roll was AMAZING! I would definitely recommend trying it. I also tried the sautéed udon noodles with chicken which was also tasty. I was a bit hesitant given it was my first time trying udon noodles BUT I'm happy I did. For beverages I had the Japanese strawberry soda, also my first time trying, and it was pretty tasty. I had some technical difficulties opening it but my waiter gladly assisted me. Street parking is available however you may need to pay the parking meter or park a few blocks over in the residential area. During the time I went it was pretty congested in the area , so please have patience if you're driving or doing a ride share. The interior is beautiful. From the outside you would not expect it to look this way. They have a sushi bar where you can sit and watch the rolls be prepared, along with more seating in the back. I would recommend coming here!

This is a new sushi addition to the sheepshead Bay road, which probably makes these two blocks most saturated with sushi restaurants in the entire NYC. It used to be a lounge, so the new owners kept most of the decor, and the place looked modern and cool. I wasn't really hungry, so I just had a few appetizers. Salmon skin salad was okay, miso eggplants - I definitely had better, but the only reason I gave them 5 stars was omakase trio. Really delicious creation, and I was pleasantly surprised. So yes, I will be back to find more about this place

Amazing place. Best sushi spot on a street that's famous for having many sushi spots. My family has been in the restaurant industry for decades, we know good food and we love sushi, tried sushi everywhere, and Izakaya is hands down the top spot in town. High, high quality for a very fair rate. Service is great also!

I was passing by and paid attention to $1 oyster promo. Came with a friend for dinner and was very pleasantly surprised with super clean, well decorated restaurant with lovely cabins, very pleasant and courteous staff, and menu very different from all other restaurants on ssheepshead Bay Road. Started with oysters and white (2 for price of 1 during happy hour), filet mignon appetizer, some sushi and shared very creative rolls with my friend. They're very new and nobody yet knows about them but it's definitely going to become my favorite place to go. I give it five stars and wish them all the best!
