I discovered this place about 2 months ago and I've gotten food almost every week. The griot and tassot are so good. You may feel like it's expensive at first but you get a lot of food for your money so it's well worth it. One order can feed two people. The food is also usually ready in 15-20 minutes and the owner is very nice.

It is well worth the money. I had the goat with plantains and almost ate myself into a comma. It was a lot of food and very delicious I could not stop eating.

My opinion is 7.9/10. The plantains were ok. The Akra was delicious. The Tassot Goat was good, border dry but good fresh, don't expect to take it home and have any moistness left. But the goat didn't have gameiness which many haitan told me means they did good because the best Tassot Goat is when they removed the gamey flavor. The sauce didn't have the spice and richness in most haitan sauces. This is not my first time having Haitan, but my first time eating at place only for fritalle. He does not have a menu with prices which could mean he overcharged me and maybe might do for you? Or maybe that means you can haggle the price do what you will but I hate not having prices on your menu. So that a huge negative. Advice is ask him before he cooks for me because when he cooked my food I gave him $20 and he passed me no change back. I think he took it because he was greedy for business. Luckily I haggeled him into giving me a soda with my food. Since me and him had some low key beef. I would highly recommend you call to make sure he is open before coming because he does close early if wants to. Went 2 times at 10 pm he closed early both only served me because he knew that he closes early but doesn't what to admit it. (Story added at the bottom of curious) Honestly without his mom cooking I don't think he would be as good as he is but he praises himself for a lot her work . I will be returning to try more of her dishes one day, but not immediately. Literally the review is as high as it is because his mom added her love into her dishes without that this place is one step away from sadly being gone because of his refusal to keep up with NY life. Check out my in depth video reviews on any of the platforms below. TikTok: TheUrbanLegend4 Instagram: UrbanLegend4 Facebook: Panayoti Kokalis YouTube: Urban Legend Called him at 10 pm my first time told him I would be there is 40 mins. He said he was closed at 10pm, I said ok. I marked his business as closed at 10 pm on Google after our call. He calls me back 40 mins later saying why did I do that I told him why. so 3 months later without notice I was in his neighborhood around 10 pm I come by and I see the metal gate half way down I'm like bruh all that ruckus for a person who truly closes at 10 pm . I call him, he saved my number so he remembered me. So yes I proved him wrong. He didn't like that I did so he got his mom out the car and got her back on the kitchen to cook for me. I told him not to but it became sadly person for him. And so the story resumes.
