Amazing omakase. The striped jack, medium fatty tuna, and NZ king salmon are all unique, subtle, and delicious. The quality of the fish is very good. The wagyu is… A5 wagyu. With truffle on top.

The chefs style is more understated. We got the 17 course and thought the fish was incredible. Most came straight from Japan. Stand outs were the New Zealand King Salmon, the scallops, the toro and wagyu for sure. The rice was delicious. I learned they don’t use tap water at all, even for the rice preparation in order to keep the tap water minerals out of the ingredients.

Nestled in Dumbo, Junsui Omakase is a cozy spot. Their soy sauce and vinegar are homemade, and the fish is fresh from Japan. The fish broth appetizer sets you up for some amazing nigiri. The bluefin tuna? It’s like nothing else, just melts in your mouth. An18-course feast that’ll leave you more than happy.

As a high-end restaurant, upon entering, the interior décor gives off the impression of being an unfinished prototype, which doesn't align well with the overall ambiance and the restaurant's positioning. Both the lighting and the arrangement of tables and chairs resemble a soft opening phase. Speaking of the food, the sushi overall has a good taste, incorporating a variety of Japanese-imported ingredients. However, the final dessert, the mochi, is overly sweet and lacks the distinctive aroma that it should have.

Amazing selection of fresh fish. The chef has a super interesting, wholesome, and heartfelt story (ask him about it). I like Omakase because it gets me out of my comfort zone, but that generally means eating something I don’t like. This place was different. Everything coming to my plate was amazing and full of flavor. Almost all the fish comes direct from Japan. The staff is small, but very attentive.Come ready for a food adventure. The menu changes every so often as well. It’s a little pricey, but you absolutely get what you pay for.

Food was amazing and tasted fresh. Service was also excellent and the price was very reasonable for the area especially since it was located in Dumbo where everything is usually expensive. Not to mention, the restaurant was spacious and lively. Would totally recommend !! 10/10.

Good sushi. Shari was in a good quality, the right amount of rice, red vinegar and good temperature. Chef was trained in Yokohama Japan for 5 years. Preparation was close to edomae style. What was lacking was varieties of fish, like hikarimono such as Aji. Kohada, iwashi and Kai rui. Nonetheless it is a good choice omakase in Brooklyn.

Truly special experience here as I was treated by a good friend to an omakase! All their fish is from the Tsukiji Fish Market in Tokyo. This is one of the few places in NYC that serves Japanese Bluefin Tuna. Outrageous! Only fish is that not from Japan would be their King salmon ( New Zealand). Omakase and a la carte was so great. The fish was extremely fresh and I loved how they taught us what each fish was and where it came from and any specifics about it that made it unique. You could definitely tell it was fresh. The staff was really polite and made sure everything was perfect! I will definitely be back and recommend you check this place out.

Cannot recommend this place enough! If you love omakase, you need to go here. Very traditional, incredibly fresh and delicious, lovely atmosphere. Overall so beautifully done. I am not one to write reviews, but Junsui deserves it after tonight's dinner experience.

I actually can't believe this place. I gave two starts ONLY because of the service. The chef and the server were polite and nice, dispute the fact that the food they were serving was an absolute rip off. We paid 300+ for two people to eat different kinds of smashed tuna. Not even Otoro, just tuna, like the kind you can buy from the market or the kind you can see at any poke place which costs maybe 15 -18 dollars for a large bowl. I couldn't believe what I was eating. We also had some beef that they claimed to be wagyu, but it just tastes like normal beef you can find from Costco. At most it might be American wagyu but it is definitely not something I would expect in an omakase place. I would pay 40 dollars for it, and this is me being reasonable and generous. The server told me that their wagyu, fish and uni were stolen due to a break in a few days ago and that's why they were serving those trash instead. I completely understand you'd be short on those expensive food but please don't charge the same high price when you can't promise the same high quality of food. Restaurants like this should exist. They owe me a refund and an apology for ruining our date/anniversary night. I'll also post on Google. If I can make one person stay away from this place, it would be worth my time. Thanks guys for reading.

TLDR: Overpriced, lack of service and ambience, lower than average food. Do not go.We ordered the premium omakase set for two. At $150 per person for 17 courses, this is not worth it at all.FOOD:The nigiri we had was less than average at best. The only good dish would be the uni chawanmushi, but because it was the first thing out, this whole experience left very little to desire. It felt like the sushi chef had no real love for cooking or the art of omakase and would really rather get the seating over with. He was not consistent in each nigiri he puts out (huge wad of wasabi in one and a pinky sliver of wasabi in another). Also, we ordered the premium omakase and noticed a group who sat after us also ordered the same thing and got wagyu pieces. We never got that.AMBIENCE:You're pretty much in a warehouse. The omakase bar is in the back and there's a bunch of awkward seats right near the door. It's a bit strange and lacks any real decor until you're seated at the bar. It was so cold in there that we had to wear our jackets. This felt more like a $70 omakase. Yes, there's a lot of pieces, but it's a Russian roulette game of whether or not you'll get a huge wad of wasabi, a lot of salt, or an oversaturated piece of nigiri.

A pretty mediocre omakase experience. We got the $150/pp "premium" 17 piece set and it felt much more like a sub $100 experience as far as novelty and quality of ingredients. The food was definitely decent quality and tasty, but pretty conventional flavor-wise.The setting is really weird. I'd seen on Instagram that apparently there's an interactive media experience that comes with the omakase but this wasn't offered to us. It was just in a strange, too-empty space with lofted ceilings and an inappropriately lounge-y vibe. The counter sushi chef also didn't really care about banter / customer service which is half the reason I'd want to sit at a counter in the first place. At least tell me a little about the food!!Definitely doesn't hold a candle to a place like Domakse which has both innovation and passion.
