What a great place to grab a meal! Lots of vegetarian options. The salmon burger was incredible! I stole a bite of my son’s chicken sandwich, he wasn’t happy about that but I had to try that amazing sandwich! There was a ton of chicken and like the salmon, perfectly spiced. Service was excellent and the bathroom situation was solid. Highly recommend!!

Emmacuela is amazing!! We visited from out of start with our family. She was so pleasant made sure we got everything. The entire team is next level! We dined for almost 2 hours with babies and kids but they made us feel right at home. Every time we visit NYC, we will stop by Lakou!! Merci ????

I went out of the way to find this spot cause I’m always looking for a Haitian spot to patronize and I saw them on IG. The food was ok but honestly I did not taste my flavorings when it comes to Haitian food even my kids were like this is not our food. I ordered the fried chicken platter, a chicken sandwich, chicken patties and a ginger lime aid. The chicken in the platter was good. Our rice is always well seasoned and so is our plantains. The white rice tasted like it was put in a instapot with water to cook and that was all she wrote. The sweet plantains was just put in the oil to fry and not even shaken in the fryer cause some were not cooked as they stuck together and they had no salt at all. The chicken sandwich was a good sandwich. The plantain chips served on the bottom of the bowl were soggy by the time I ate it. It would’ve been nice if their crispiness were preserved. The patty was interesting as it’s made with puff pastry. The ginger limeade was very sweet and had a strong lime taste but not the taste of fresh lime. It’s ok to use the concentrated stuff but it’s a bit too much lime. The ginger taste was extremely subtle. Again I did not taste how we normally make our limeade. Nevertheless, it’s a nice spot, the lady who assisted me was nice and friendly.

Serving stale vegan chocolate chip cookies : customer services sucks , Haitian ppl are kind. Go to Grand Champ if you want good service & food that isn’t stale. This place is over priced & has no consideration for the fact this is Crown

A lovely, friendly, cozy spot with plenty of vegan options (although I love meat lol). I loved the chicken sandwich - it was huge - and also enjoyed a tasty cocktail. They happily accommodated a drop in visit by 16 of us. Highly recommend!

Outstanding food you can’t find anywhere else. Kind folks working hard to feed their people. Huge portions, reasonable prices, untouchable ambiance. The owner is almost always there working. They’ll make you whatever you ask if you’re kind. Love being so close to this place.

I am never in this area but today I donated blood around the block. I researched some good food and it brought me here! Love it. Great job!

I checked out the menu. Definitely does not look vegan friendly because there are other ingredients mixed in with healthy ingredients so I'm not going to get any food from this place.

If you are a vegan, I highly recommend Lakou Cafe. I had a fantastic vegan meatball sandwich and a delicious smoothie: quality food, significant portions, and great pricing. It is a cozy environment with sweet music. Customer service was friendly, helpful, and straightforward. The food is genuinely delicious. I will come by again. 10/10, please visit!

Didn’t taste like authentic Haitian food, and they forgot my pikliz. However, portion was good, and I liked that they had some DJ’s out front on their Independence Day- I’ll be back to give them another chance.

Great spot for a Haitian Patty that’s on the lighter side. Codfish patty was a tad dry but the chicken was well seasoned and flaky. Got a latte with almond milk and it was one of the best lattes I’ve had especially at this price point. Such a great neighborhood staple and the music is phenomenal (Kompa, neo-soul, Afrobeats and more).
