The cocktails were meh. The food was pretty decent but the price is a bit too much for what it is. The spicy is pretty hot but worth getting.

Some of the best Chinese food I’ve ever had, can’t wait to come back or to another location in the city. Howard gave impeccable service and crafted a unique Chinese afternoon dining experience which educated and informed us about aspects of Chinese cuisine and food culture which I previously knew nothing about. Our server Howard told me so much regarding the food and the Sichaunese cuisine, I really learned so much. The spice of the dry pot was so great. Dry pot, fried chicken, and fried noodles were all so good. Loved going here so much !

Had a meal here this afternoon and had an amazing dining experience from start to finish. Howard was my server and he was very accommodating and attentive to all of my questions regarding different dishes on the menu. I got the eye of round dry pot and beef fried noodles and both were soooo yummy! I’m already thinking about going again soon!

First time, had a great experience! For apps- got the peanuts which were solid, and the cold noodles which I highly recommend (we wanted a second order of it). Ordered the dry pot as our main course - enjoyed it. It was like dry hot pot. Favorite ingredients we got were the eye of round beef, bok choi, cabbage, enoki mushroom, and lamb. Also loved the cold noodles. Good cocktails too. Ambience was groovy and fun. A note- we shared our dry pot amongst two people, and had plenty of leftovers so if you have a party of 4 you could consider sharing one dry pot and then getting appetizers as well!

Amazing dining experience accompanied with a lovely atmosphere. Ben was our server and we received the most pleasant hospitality. 10/10 recommend!

Mala project is easily one of my favorite restaurants - both locations. I eat in house and get delivery often. However today I got delivery dry pot which is $50 and the portion was a third of what it normally is. Beyond disappointed in this change. It’s offensive

The dry pot from Mala Project is one of the most unique and delicious restaurant experiences you can have for this price in NYC. Can’t recommend it enough. The rest of the food I would say is pretty good, but the dry pot is exceptional. Fun vibe at this location and the bartenders are always super friendly and helpful. One of my favorite spots in the hood

My first time in their Brooklyn location. Mala project has always been my go-to for their dry pot. We got their signature mala spicy dry pot with 5 meats + 5 veggies & konjac noodle. In terms of taste, as someone with high tolerance for spicy food, it wasn't too much, but I felt the dry-pot was saltier than usual. Oh we also got rice so it did balanced out the dry-pot flavors more. The portions were a lot for two, but tasted even better the next day. Their lianfen was great as well. The service was great, especially our cool, tattooed server. Highly recommend this spot for the vibes alone.

Delicious !! We got the spinach salad and dry pot which was spicy. Pork belly, frog legs, baby corn, mushrooms, bamboo shoots

The spicy level was completely different from other branch in NYC. When I ate at the one in Manhattan, it was deliciously spicy. But here, it was blend yet way too spicy.

Mala Project has amazing dry pot bowls that are very flavorful. I tend to go for the mild spicy level, as to be able to enjoy the numbing a bit without feeling overwhelmed. You pick your own ingredients, but i highly recommend adding pineapple and glass noodles. The service was fast and great. Inside, the room looks like a retro-bar.

The vibes and the servers are super nice and it's a cute spot in Greenpoint. However, the food isn't worth how much it costs. Ended up spending a lot for something I could easily make at home and it's lacking a bit of flavor. Coming from Hong Kong where the mala is what it should be, the dry pot lacked flavor and added up to be pricey, the drinks weren't the best but that just might be my preferences. The Mala Express tasted purely of bourbon and not much else.

Truly the worst service I've ever received. We checked in with the host who informed us there would be a wait - 30 minutes or so. That's fine, I expected longer. We put our name on the list and walked outside to wait. A group of women walked up and asked us if we were already on the list or waiting to get inside. We informed them we were already on the list and they walked inside to put their name on the list. 20 minutes later and they are being seated before us despite coming later and having the same party size. I asked the host why and he said they were friends with the bartender. Ok pretty annoying but we'll get seated soon I'm sure. We're finally seated at the very back corner of the restaurant. We sit and wait 10-15 min for drink orders before flagging down our waiter. Then we wait 30 minutes and realized our waiter had left!! No one came to talk with us or anything. He just left. Eventually, we got a nearby waitress's' attention to order food. She was amazing and apologetic. She even said her coworker had left and didn't want to be there anymore. He had told her that we were taken care of already and had ordered - not at all true. She was a great server. However, the two previous experiences (host and 1st server) completely ruined my experience. Giving two stars because some of the dishes were great and y'all better give a raise to the waitress who took over the back room on 1/27/24!!
