Fish tacos were very good but the steak tacos for some reason tasted like fish, maybe it was because I ate the fish taco first and I still had remnants in my teeth

This location just lost a customer. I have been ordering from Maya for over a year and it's usually reliable. This location is not. The churros have no cinnamon sugar. The last straw is when the chicken enchiladas has way undercooked chicken. I was directed to ChowNow assistance and sent a pic. They said Maya was informed and would make it right. Instead, I got a call from the restaurant telling me they checked the chicken (???) and it was cooked and I was mistaken. But they also offered to send me a new order. I said it was too late in the evening. I explained the person from ChowNow said this would be taken care of. The person on the phone got annoyed and sort of huffed/asked if I wanted it redelivered or a refund. I said a refund. He then just hung up. The order was refunded, but I don't need to feel like I'm doing something wrong or have them go back on their word until I pushed for a refund I was already promised. It was really uncomfortable and I'm the one that got raw chicken in the first place! The weird sort of gaslighting was a nice touch as well. Avoid this location. Another is close by on 7th.

I only order nachos from here, and they are probably the best compared to others in the neighborhood. The chips are homemade, large, crispy, have enough salt, and can take all the toppings without getting soggy. I usually stick with the veggies, black beans (sometimes refried beans), request jalapenos for some spicy, and layer all the sour cream and guac that is provided. Consistently delicious.

D*^#*mn Daniel, I too am a local business owner who happened to stumble into your overpriced establishment and experienced the unpleasant, unprofessionalism of your staff. I think it's time that you re-examine your hiring decisions because these people either don't like you very much or haven't been trained properly. Either way, they've left me with a terrible impression of your business.

If you order delivery from this place, good luck. They apparently have no expediting process so items are often left off the order ... this has happened to us twice in the past two weeks. We give up after years of commitment to this restaurant ...

The place is tiny but very clean. The food is perfect and the service is excellent. The ambience of the entire place is homey?. I love this place.

Food is fine when it comes but 3 straight times the order was completely wrong, with this last order resulting in a single quesadilla being ordered instead of a fajita platter. I called to politely raise the issue but the correct food was still not delivered after a half hour (1.5 hours from the original order). At this point, I called to ask again about the status of my order and I was told I needed to be "patient". There are other options in the area- Buddys for one- that I would recommend for takeout instead of Maya.

Decent tacos, very friendly folks. The homemade lemonade was excellent. Outdoor seating was really nice. They have lots of different salsas.

First and foremost, I want to extend a special thanks to Daniel and the entire Maya Taqueria team. Daniel went above and beyond to ensure that everything ran smoothly for my Birthday party. From helping with menu selection to coordinating the service, his attention to detail was truly appreciated.I couldn't have asked for a better experience. The food and drinks they provided were outstanding, and my guests couldn't stop raving about them. The food at Maya Taqueria was exceptional. The tacos were a hit among my guests, and the variety of options ensured that everyone's tastes were catered to. The fresh ingredients and authentic flavors really hit home. The drinks were equally impressive. The margaritas were a crowd favorite, and the bar staff did an excellent job in crafting cocktails that matched our preferences perfectly. In conclusion, I want to express my gratitude to Maya Taqueria and Daniel for making my birthday party a fantastic and memorable event. I highly recommend Maya Taqueria for any special occasion or dining experience. They exceeded my expectations in every way. Thank you again!

Everything about this restaurant is disappointing. It took almost an hour and a half for them to deliver my food, which I could have gotten over if the food was good. Unfortunately, the fish in the fish taco was prepared like 3 chicken nuggets? Clearly frozen, not freshly prepared. The steak salad I ordered looked so great online, but not edible. I wanted to love this place, but the experience was so bad from delivery to the food.

Great staff. Prices are great given the area (I'm not from NY). I had the steak tacos and they were great.

I ordered a California burrito omw to home and when I tried the burrito there was not meat at all but the lady asked me before what kind of meat I want.Nothing else to say.

The worst of the Maya locations. Soggy burritos. Questionable hygiene. Bad flavor. Produce starting to spoil. Mediocre service. Skip it.

Be informed before ordering from this establishment...Last Tuesday night my sister and I ordered two meals from this restaurant through Uber Eats. I had previously ordered from them and liked their combination platter that consisted of grilled shrimp, grilled chicken breast and rice and beans with accompanying accoutrements. We had to wait 50 minutes and by that time we were very ready for our dinner. When it arrived I can't tell you how disappointed we were to discover that the shrimp were extremely overcooked and dry to the point that it was hard to swallow! After one bite it was clear that they were completely inedible. The grilled chicken cutlet was also overcooked, dry, tasteless and inedible. So, I called the restaurant to tell them about the food and spoke to one of the employees; I don't want to name names (although I am keeping that record) because I am not trying to get anyone fired but customers should know how we were treated during this situation that speaks highly to the incompetence of the people employed to run that place. The employee apologized and asked if we wanted them to replace the meals and that they would send them ASAP! Of course we accepted as were very hungry at this point. So, they did deliver the meals quickly and we were excited to eat. When we opened the containers, the replacement meals were almost worse than the first delivery and we couldn't eat it. Before I could get to call the restaurant back to tell them about the food, the same employee that I originally complained to called me to once again ask me in detail about the original food order that they were replacing. So I once again explained to him about the poor quality of the food that we received and he once again apologized. I thought that would be it. A few minutes later, he called me back to say that they needed us to send back the original food order; WHAT!! I've never heard of a restaurant asking you to send back the bad food in order to replace the order. I was appalled! My sister and I couldn't believe how rude they were being to me, a customer. They were out of luck because I had no intention of taking that food out of the garbage where we put it; and I told him so. We hung up and two minutes later, I received a call from the so called "manager" asking me again in detail about the food that we complained about and telling me that they "needed" the food back for a "teaching" purposes for their cooks. Come on, that all sounded like a bunch of bull, and at this point I was experiencing more than interrogation and harassment, I was experiencing prejudice! Mind you, this was the third call from them! Why would the so called "manager" call me again asking for the food back after the delivery person returned to them? Clearly, he saw that my sister and I are Black people; did that make them think that we were trying to steal their food? I had such a visceral feeling behind that. He delivered to us in Park Slope, to a beautiful limestone two blocks from the park. If we can afford to live here, we can afford the food that we order out for. I really didn't want to bring prejudice into it, but there it was! I've never experienced anything like that before and hope not to ever have to again. When you are spending good money ordering out, you have expectations to get what you paid for. You don't expect to have the experience that we had. And the ironic thing is, the delivery person was of Spanish ethnicity; another minority! Sometimes you just have to laugh instead of taking the actions of other people's ignorance to heart. It's them, not you!Bottom line, needless to say, I'll never order from this restaurant again. Maybe, I'll try the one closer to me on Vanderbilt Ave. at some other point in time; maybe. I gave 1 star but it, it should be "0"!
