Had a lovely time at Olmsted! All of the dishes were delicious - especially the scallop crudo! Kayleigh helped us and provided wonderful service. Definitely a must try if you're in Brooklyn!

Such an incredible experience, everything was wonderful. Each dish was so unique and delicious, especially the scallop crudo, and sitting at the chefs counter you get a behind the scenes view that's to die for. The staff (especially our server Kayleigh!) was all lovely, the meal beautiful, and we hope to be back soon!

In a world where excessive tipping culture is holding us all hostage and making us furious, I was happy to leave 30% for my server. Just eat that they tell you to. They know what they're talking about. I'm still dreaming of their magical bread, foamy gnocchi, and stiff cherry cocktails.

Nice place, with ok service and pretentious food that sounds interesting but doesn't actually taste good.

Very disappointing dining experience. Food never arrived (we waited 2hs) and the waiter suggested we had already received most of our dishes. The restaurant picked up the bill (4 drinks and 2 starters) and apologized but they should have told us there was an issue with staff when we sat down instead of telling us they were “spacing the dishes”.

Ive eaten here a few times and this last experience left me longing for the “old days.” Service was truly bad. Sat down and fully ignored for at least 20 mins - drinks came an hour after we sat down - right when the first course came out. The team comped drinks as an apology and assured us they would make up for it with great service the rest of the meal. There was a huge lull in the service we had a 30 min period between starters and mains. The food is still delicious - the creativity is all in the smaller plates. But it’s hard to focus on that when the service isn’t great. It feels like they need to get their operations in order so I’ll pass on this place for a while.

Olmsted had been on my list since I first read about it in Condé Nast Traveler so I was excited for my first venture into Brooklyn as I usually spend time in Manhattan. I was well on my way until I got on the wrong train and realized to my dismay that I was going to be 45 minutes late! I tried calling the restaurant but was directed to email them which further stressed me out because I assumed I would have to make alternate plans. As soon as I entered, I apologized profusely to Michaela and she calmed me down immediately be explaining that even seasoned New Yorkers sometimes get on the wrong train. She did everything she could and secured me a seat at the bar. I was so grateful! As soon as I sat down, Mark, the bartender laughed and joked with me about my experience and soon after I was greeted by my waiter Greg, who was fantastic and by the end of the night, I was just in awe of the hospitality of the entire staff. The ambiance was warm and inviting and the curated playlist with artists ranging from Amy Winehouse to Corrine Bailey Rae and Outkast, created an invigorating and lively atmosphere. For drinks, I started with The Fennel which was really good, but the showstopper was Greg's creation which will soon be featured, "The Cucumber". It was fire and aesthetically pleasing!I like that you have an option for either the a la carte menu or the tasting menu and I chose the tasting menu and added on the pumpkin kouign-amann. The dishes were all delicious except I was not too crazy about the rutabaga tagliatelle.Olmsted is truly a neighborhood gem and not to be overlooked.

dinner on a Saturday night: food was mediocre. the water server was great and otherwise the service was terrible; confused (bringing wrong dishes) and incredibly slow -- waiting 20 minutes for cocktails alone. Tables are squeezed so tight as to be claustrophobic. will not return

Ambiance was nice, cool plants and chill lighting but the food - super tiny and not good. Restaurant notes that they can accommodate allergies - I wrote my allergy (gluten) in the resy reservation and emailed them since they don't pick up the phone to confirm. No response. I arrived for my reservation and they offered me a menu with crossed out items and handwritten substitutions. I ordered the gf "cranberry" bread - no cranberries were in this bread and it was as hard as a rock. Ordered the broccolini tempura - it was 3 tiny pieces in unsalted starch with not much flavor. Ordered the potato gnocchi - it was a joke - it was cubed potatoes in a white soup... no effort whatsoever to make gnocchi. And the portions overall were tiny. We ordered most of the menu. Left hungry! The only part that was good was the dessert the froyo with the whipped honey. Would not come back for this "accommodated" meal.

Honestly underwhelming experience last night… food was overly complicated with nothing particularly delicious. Subtlety is not on the menu here. The margarita ordered tasted like a cheap Mexican spot drink - don’t mind that for $10, but it was at least $16. Every starter recommended was deep fried. Is this the same place I loved with fresh food and herbs from their own garden four years ago? Maybe it’s under new ownership?

Last night I had the most amazing meal at Olmstead. The food was absolutely delicious. You can tell they use the best quality ingredients and prepare the meals thoughtfully. The atmosphere is also really enjoyable. It's very relaxed and the staff make sure you have everything you need. I can't wait to eat there again.

This place is really really nice but something always feels not quite up to the hype. That being said, the food is innovative and the menu changes every 3 months. The aesthetic and vibe is cool earthy modern. Wouldn't go out of my way, but would go again if someone wanted to!

The short version is: don’t go here. The food was mediocre, the service was terrible and you will feel demoralized when you pay hundreds of dollars to wait an hour for a drink, to eat cold food that should be warm, to be treated like a serious annoyance by your server, and be told that the quality issues are because the department of health was observing. Huh? If you sort reviews by date, you can see that this place has gone downhill. There are so many great restaurants in NYC. Go to any of those: You’ll be happier.
