Not good. Course meal was 80% veggies, and majority of that was asparagus. Only memorable dish was the dessert, which was fantastic, but everything else was pure disappointment. If they gave out 75% discount... i still wouldn't eat here. I wish this place was closed when i was looking for restaurants last minute at wifes request.

We came here for a special occasion and couldn't be happier with our choice. The front of house staff did an exceptional job creating a delightful and memorable dining experience and making us feel welcome. The kitchen staff created an absolutely delicious meal that lived up to all of the great things we'd heard about the food.

This was one of the best meals I’ve ever had. The food was amazing, the staff were attentive and knowledgeable, the chef was personable and spent time educating us on the history of the restaurant, his past experience, and his inspiration. I would prefer this experience over some of the other 2 and 3 star experiences I’ve had.

The atmosphere is nice and welcoming. The service is phenomenal. Sadie our server was awesome! As for the food its very creative and innovative especially the squash dish however i think some of the dishes did not have a good balance of flavors. Also Don’t miss out on the non- alchoholic beverage pairing! i’ve been to many Michelin but this was a first to me. They did an amazing job.

Excellent mastery of sauces, thoughtfully paired with ingredients. Not overly seasoned, well balanced flavors and textures. Super beautiful mocktails - delicate, nuanced, whimsical, like fairies in a secret summer garden.

I've been wanting to go to Oxalis for a while and finally went last night. I will start with the positive. The service is incredible. As we walked through the restaurant to our table, we were warmly greeted by everyone. The menu is highly imaginative, using unique ingredients and preparation styles. The vibe is lovely. Our main courses, the coffee beef & black bass with carrot were both truly delicious. They were stand outs by far and I wish I had only had those two plates. The kebab was good, but served cold & it was a little too greasy for my personal taste. The farinata was mostly tasteless, w a smoked fig spread that left a strange taste in my mouth. We had pickled beets served over dandelion, which had a tannic, acrid flavor so strong I had to eat around it and only savor the beets, which were nice, but the pickling left them overly salty without enough acid for balance. The mackerel, one of my favorite fish, was nice, but again not stand out. Both deserts, the mochi cake with grapes and the chocolate and grain torte were delicious. The wines were also excellent.I felt the menu was creative but some dishes were not executed as well as others, and my expectation with Michelin restaurants is that every dish should be well prepared from start to finish. I would like to try their menu again, perhaps in the summer, but this time I was left disappointed.

Everything is phenomenal, food, service, atmosphere. The duck is my favorite and the bread is to die for. Squid hanabero stew is a surprising highlight. Will definitely come back.

Food is solid and service is great. I will say, while delicious, it was definitely overpriced so proceed with caution. We got the cart blanche, and we ordered one drink. It came out to ~420$ with tax and tip. I made a reservation for my boyfriend's birthday and they wrote him a card and gave us a free birthday dessert. The entire staff seemed to know it was his birthday (an fyi if you're lowkey about birthdays). They use a lot of asian flavors here. The food portions are small but we were SO full by the end of it. Steak was solid and so was the fish (like a fancy filet-o-fish). I believe they have seasonal menus so maybe it'll change by the time you see this review! I also loved the bread. Overall, we had a great time here. I'm not sure if the price was worth it for the tasting menu, but the service was A+. I probably wouldn't do the tasting menu again.

Food is very good, delicate and light. Dessert is creative, which is honestly not that often to see in NYC (yeah it puzzled me for a long time). Service is extremely well, warm, friendly and not pretentious, every staff including those working in the kitchen would say hello to you. Also highly recommend to try their mocktail.

Michelin star ratings, like any rating, are subjective. More often than not, in my opinion, having a star is more a marketing tactic, and we fell for it yet again. Food is good but not memorable, and 200 USD pp after tax and tip for dinner (before beverages) is unwarranted. The portions are simply not substantive enough. I left hungry and wondering what I had just paid for, which is for a Michelin star. Oooo. If you got dough to blow you'll have an good enough time and can impress anyone you're trying to woo, whether for business or pleasure. For everyone else there are plenty of other places to check out instead. Lots of kick ass places with zero Michelin stars which I'm happy to recommend.

I'm still savoring every burp from my generous GI system. My wife and I went with the tasting menu and got one order of the non-alcoholic pairing. I'm not sure what to tell you.. My wife's the chef. I'm just a mouth-- that ingests food and speaks words.I don't think I could tell you what we ate and I don't think it would do you much good anyway. Their menu changes with/pays homage to the seasons; taking advantage of what's ripe, what color the trees outside might be, what the Chef wants you to feel. They said "warm, summer into fall" and if you make any small attempt to connect your taste buds with your imagination neurons, that's what you'll experience. I don't know, man. There was a dish that felt like.. like a person you know that's always betrayed you, but this time he saved you instead. You remember Loki when he died? Like that. They made a dish that felt like when Loki died. Am I being dramatic? Of course I am. The dinner tastes better than way. Then there was a pork thing that felt like the best Chinese roasted pork was a copycat of Oxalis's pork. Don't you find it rude when a restaurant successfully Trojan Horses you into shaming your own culture's food? Anyway, we left right before a plate of wild strawberries came out; thinking that our meal was over and that our card on file (via Resy) already took care of the bill. So I just want to thank the staff for not making us feel accused of dine and dashing. They handled it so graciously. Sometimes New York can be rough around the edges. Cars honking, train throwing you into a stranger, thing of that nature... but Oxalis was an oasis from beginning to end.

Great atmosphere. Slow service. The host talked in a slightly condescending tone, which I don’t think was intentional. The food was overall okay but not so good compared to other one-Michelin star/no-Michelin star restaurants and considering the price. There was one mackerel appetizer dish in the bar prefix menu in which the ingredients just didn’t go together. Too much was going on in that dish that just made it confusing and unpleasant to the taste. The pork main dish and dessert were the best in our entire meal.

Dining at Oxalis is easily in the top 3 dining experiences I’ve ever had in my 10+ years living New York. The service is incredible, the staff are so friendly, receptive, and adaptable. The food is impeccable (we opted for the Bar Prix-Fixe menu) beautiful presentation and even more palate-pleasingly delicious, the corn crêpe? Phenomenal. I awoke this morning still thinking about it. The vibe is immaculate, so much so I downloaded their Spotify playlist. My only gripe is the lack of agave spirits, which is quite possibly just a decision based on pairings. But I miss it all the same.
