Love this neighborhood sushi joint. It’s officially my new favorite for sushi in the area, dethroning Chikurin (which I still have a place in my heart for) for reasons below:⭐️The staff are very attentive, checking in multiple times throughout the meal to fill our tea and ask if we needed anything.⭐️Seating is cozy, particularly the tables adjacent to the wall with seat cushions. I like the relaxed atmosphere here. Yes the space is on the smaller side (I think 5 tables?) but that’s what I like - you have the full attention of the waitstaff and less distraction, which means you can devote your attention to enjoying the meal.⭐️Portions are very generous and the cooked food (particularly Udon) is a sleeper hit! I’ve never had high expectations for these 86st sushi restaurants particularly on cooked / non-sushi dishes, but wow the Tempura udon and Nabeyaki udon are both flavorful, have a great variety of ingredients, and well-presented!! Great value for the $14 price tag. Comes with salad.⭐️Sushi is good for what it is. Ofc, this is 86 st so set expectations accordingly. We’ve tried salmon avocado, eel avocado, spicy tuna, and california rolls and all were solid - on par with Chikurin. Not overly stuffed with rice which is good.Highly recommend stopping by for your next casual neighborhood hangout! You won’t be disappointed.

Today they surprised me! Creative approach to sashimi, one of the best I've tried in a long time! Rolls were incredible as well. Even miso tasted different, yummy!! Keep up great service and delicious food!

My husband went into the restaurant for takeout. When he got home, he was unhappy with the food. He called the restaurant and the woman who answered the phone, told him to bring the food back and order something else. He did that and picked out a soup, which he said was delicious. He was satisfied with the results.

Just had a great meal at Samurai sushi. Always fresh and constantly creating different specials to keep me interested. Good sushi. Love the dancing Kani roll and the Kani salad.

I’ve been going here since I moved to the neighborhood. I wouldn’t want to go anywhere else. Such very nice people and the fish is so fresh! Never had a bad experience!! I highly recommend!
When I'm just in the mood for inexpensive sushi, Samurai always does the trick. They have a variety of awesome mixed rolls that are always well made and taste great. They dont overload with rice in their rolls which i hate at other places. Their party platters will definitely keep the family will fed! I usually get delivery but when I pick up, the waitresses and hosts are very nice and don't keep me waiting. Definitely recommend!
I always order food here and I never had a problem with them. The customer service is superb! They are amazing and such friendly people. The restaurant is so nice and cozy. Very clean and neat. The food is always fresh and always made to order. I highly recommend!
