I go here or order whenever I have time from work. The food Is the Best, i love it, very fresh and they even offer gluten free. We are so lucky to have a good resturant and bar like this left in bay ridge there all gone. Value for the portion size and quality is excellent, it taste home made. I cannot recommend it enough, rahmschnitzel German potato salad potato pancakes, pretzel beer, German hotdogs, the kids meals all good and home made fresh fries too. As far as cash only, that’s better so your not paying fees resulting in the food costing actually what it costs. As far as sharing plate fee that’s standard - people come and don’t eat or order yet it costs money to wash plates and silverware, staff has to wash this and serve you. I used to be in the business and appricate Great food at a reasonable cost. Can’t wait to see you againDietary restrictions: They offer legit gluten free

Ate here with my parents when they visited a few months ago; they arrived in late afternoon and wanted to eat some place close to my apartment. One got jaeger schnitzel and the other got paprika schnitzel; I got goulash. We split the potato salad and sausage appetizer. Though I'm not a huge fan of German food the food was really satisfying!! The only issue was that the restaurant was fairly crowded and there were no servers. The only person serving was the bartender who was also serving the bar. This was maybe the fifth time I've been and usually the service is better. I'm not sure why no one was there and I feel bad for the bartender.

Walked in on a Tuesday for lunch. The place was empty, hot as hell and looked dirty. Walked out again. Will never return.

The food is pretty good. Love the sausages and Schnitzel. The beer selection was great. Atmosphere is pretty nice and comfortable. The service was OK considering it was just the bartender doing everything (she was great though).

First time, just a bit snug not Brooklyn from Staten Island. Moderate German tap selection. Potato pancakes appetizer was spot on. Family enjoyed schnitzel, wursts, pickled beets, etc. Disappointed with the spatzle. Highly recommend.

The food was terrible, the staff was overwhelmed, but the band and people where great. 2 people did not eat their food and when we tried to tell the waiter his reaction was an apology instead of offering something different.I had the pork Schnitzel which wasn't so bad.

After asking for information on a Bay Ridge FB site about live music there were a few who recommended this place. We decided to head out on Saturday for some food and music. Food was fantastic, wait staff great, music awesome! I was so impressed and happy. Do yourself a favor and GO! I'll be back many times! Thanks and see you soon.

Among places offering German food, Schnitzelhaus is quite the find. We'd been there twice before, and always had a great time.I had the Schnitzel a la Holstein, which I devoured ... nice touch: anchovies and capers on the side.

The restaurant hosts various themed nights throughout the week, with a focus on live music. It's a nice addition for those seeking some entertainment with their meal. The lively atmosphere, especially when accompanied by live bands, adds to the overall appeal. The selection of draft German beers is a bonus! And, this is the place where I discovered my love for apple strudels (apfel strudel). While Schnitzel Haus generally delivers a positive dining experience, it's worth noting that during busy periods, service may be a bit stretched. On a particularly crowded evening, there were delays in getting drinks and appetizers, and some menu items were unavailable. For a smoother experience, arriving early or opting for a later dining time might be advisable.

We are visiting from NC and wanted German food. We were staying in Manhattan and took the subway here and was not disappointed. The owner waited on us. She was amazing and hustling. The food was soo good. Happy customers and we will be back to visit. Thanks again!
