Ivan the gentlemen at the register and also serving is one of the best employees the owner has…. A young man that works with excellence. A great place to eat. Food is great… lovely place.

Absolutely love this place! One of my favorites in the neighborhood. The food is incredible, fresh and not boring. However - I miss the old servers tremendously, their new guy just doesn't get it. His energy is off and he's way too aggressive with everything he does. He's not welcoming and seems annoyed at everyone and everything.

Small place with HUGE flavor! If you have the time, come here for breakfast or lunch, they are amazing. Sometimes I dream about the poached eggs in African stew. Very busy on the weekends, but I live nearby so I come during the week! But even so, it's worth the wait. Staff and food are fabulous!

This is the kind of hipster diner that your 85-year-old mother will like too: "Everything tasty and fresh too!" It's hard to put into words what the Common gets so very right. For starters, there's nothing common about the menu. It's sorta gourmet without the fuss, hip without the funk, eclectic without the confusion of fusion. I took pictures of the menu to post because it will speak for itself, if you'll take it from me that it delivers on its promise. Service is casual, but attentive. Ambience is a cross between rustic and industrial. It's coolness is muted, so comfortable. Maybe almost too muted--you might walk right past it at the corner of third avenue and 94th Street, down from the Walgreens. Don't do that. Go in.

Definitely worth coming here for breakfast, lunch, or brunch! They have a wide selection of many different options such as platters, sandwiches, toast or bowls. It's very small so be prepared to wait. But it's worth it. I am not sure if they take reservations. We got their French toast sandwich and the sticky chicken platter. Everything was delicious. I want to come back and try their other options!

Very cute brunch spot, limited in tables so be sure to wait on the weekends. The skillet was amazing and the chicken and waffle was crispy. We also ordered an Asian Nashville chicken that was so delicious. I wished I had bread or rice to drench into the delicious sauce. Cappuccino is on point. Highly recommend this place for a nice brunch spot.

My go to favorite brunch spot. I usually stop by after a morning workout. Amazing lighting and air flow! I ditched Pegasus and came to The Common and haven't regretted it. Large portions so be careful when ordering apps it will definitely fill you up!! I love their hummus I have to get it every time. Although it does fill me up easily! Friendly staff and fresh food in my Bay Ridge neighborhood. Many friend have came here by my suggestion and they all seem to love it as well!

This is such a lovely place. I'm not from the neighborhood but love wandering around Brooklyn. I ordered the breakfast sandwich and the corn. Breakfast and lunch is served all day. The staff was beyond amazing and food was delicious. I heard the Chef ask a Delivery guy if he ate and proceeded to make him something. How can you not love a place that is just genuinely amazing from Top to Bottom. For me this place is definitely worth the trek.

An eclectic yet classy breakfast/brunch/lunch (and sometimes dinner) joint that incorporates fresh ingredients with fresh ideas. Over easy eggs on a bed of hash served with a baby arugula salad (salad for breakfast?!? YES!) Avocado toast decorated with split grape tomatoes, sliced radishes, pistachios (WHAT?!?) and topped with a poached egg. Delicious. But my favorite item...? Pistachio Latte. Oh my goodness. This place's only drawback; the sausage. A lot of dishes include sausage, which I have no qualms about, in general, however... The sausage served at The Common had numerous little hard bits in it, that turned my stomach. So now, I avoid all dishes that include it. But everything else? Terrific and innovative.

This review is solely for their server Neal. I come here often, with family and friends. The young man and woman who serve regularly are great and so is the food (5 stars). But this guy Neal, total vibe killer. He shouldn't be serving people. He's rude. He always seems flustered whether it's packed or not. He has a poor attitude. He's not pleasant. Everyone I know who comes here regularly complains about him. I even had to approach him once about getting nasty with my mother. I never want to take food off of someone's table but he needs to be in a position away from dealing with customers. The other two are so pleasant and professional. They change the entire atmosphere. Neal is the total opposite. He's not welcoming and seems annoyed at everyone half the time. If there's a wait and he's serving great I just go elsewhere.

One of the few great places that serves breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner. The food is fantastic, both visually and and by taste. The staff is attentive and polite. The ambiance is lively. Definitely a place I will be returning to and will be recommending to friends and family. Every dish ordered so far has been delicious and balanced well.

We tried this place for the first time on a Sunday late morning right before the St Patrick's parade rolled in. It was a little busy, the wait was just about 15 minutes. Parking takes a little time to find but there's usually a few spots around the neighborhood. Service is attentive and quick, the waitress was super sweet. She took our orders quickly and I got my delicious pistachio latte within moments. We ordered their waffles and chicken, and skillet eggs with sausage. Probably my favorite chicken waffles anywhere. Warm and spicy peppered chicken, the spices carry onto the waffles and it was just soooo good and extremely filling. The fried chicken came as a cutlet chopped up and fork ready which was a huge plus. I would easily come back and bring people here again and again.

I googled "best breakfast place in Bay Ridge" and The Common came up. I read the reviews and had to try it. I'll tell you, we weren't disappointed. This place is great! The staff are warm and friendly and the food was delicious!! We will definitely be back to try all the other stuff on the menu.

I love this place so so much, my fiancé and I look forward to our morning dates here! Make sure you try the skillet pancake in addition to everything on the menu!
