Cute spot! Yummy drinks, apps were better than entrees. Nice level of spice. Yum Naem, oyster fritters, taro, and tofu skin apps were great.

Stumbled upon this amazing Michelin star spot for my husband's birthday. It's the perfect place to have a group dinner with all the family style dishes. Spice us on point, and the curries were full of flavor. I think we tried everything on the menu, and there isn't a single thing I would not get again.

As a starter we tried one of their salads but requested it mild. We asked the waitress if it could be made without shrimp since I had a shrimp allergy. She really struggled to understand what we were asking and did not grasp the significance of a shrimp allergy. The item stated shrimp paste. We ended needing to call another waiter over who fully understood what we were asking. Overall that dish was a bit too fishy for our liking. The fried pork rib was very good and fresh. The fried chicken thighs as you can see from the picture are in fact not thighs. Of the four pieces one is a thigh and three are drumsticks. We ended up discussing this with the waitress who shared that the menu states dark meat, and it would be two drumsticks and two thighs. This was incorrect, the menu states chicken thighs only and she offered to take it off the bill once she realized. Neither of us are a fan of drumsticks. The best dish of the night was the crab fried rice. This was by far some of the best crab fried rice I've ever had and I enjoyed the spicy fish sauce that it came with. Overall, after the first interaction we were never approached again to see how we were enjoying our meals or if we wanted to order anything else. The first waitress actively avoided us. The other waitresses did come to clear our plates. Overall the food was hit or miss, but the customer service was the real flaw.

This was so damn disappointing. Every Thai restaurant I've tried in NYC is usually so good. Yes, some are definitely better than others but overall all experiences have been good. I made a reservation for 6pm on a weeknight but arrived earlier at 5:30pm. The restaurant was pretty empty at that point. There is a Happy Hour from 5-7, Mon-Thurs. I forget the full details but cocktails are $13, beer $5, wine (?), and $11 for 1/2 dozen oysters. From Happy Hour, we ordered the Jolean and beer. The Jolean was one of the better parts of our meal. The oysters were decent but a bit salty. I would not want to pay full price for these. We also ordered the Goi (Spicy Beef Tartare) to share as an appetizer. I have never had anything so salty AND spicy at the same time. We had one bite and asked them to remake it to be less salty and when we got it the second time, it was still way too salty. To be fair, the spicy level was notated on the menu so it was expected, but it is still really really spicy. For entrees, we had the Crab Fried Rice (5/5- this + the cocktail was the best part of the whole meal by far. Decent portion and lumps of real crab meat), and the Massaman Brisket (0/5- SO bad. Never had such an inedible entree in NYC before. This curry is supposed to be SLIGHTLY sweet but in reality it was sickeningly sweet. Like American candy level sweet. I don't understand how they cooked this??? Wanted to ask for another entree, but after asking for a new Goi decided to force ourselves to eat it.Service was also strangely terrible by the male server. I literally sat right by the door/hostess stand and when we tried to get his attention on several occasions, he would just look away. With the never ending list of better Thai restaurants in NY, I will not be back to Tong.

Amazing - go with friends that enjoy new food experiences. I went with two people, we ordered about 6 dishes and shared. Fully and worth the price - very well priced considering how beautiful the restaurant is and how well prepared the dishes are. Recommend for group dinners - would love if they had a tasting menu of all their actual menu items, too many good dishes!

Spacious restaurant and delicious thai food. They use real crab meat, which i love! The tom yum and fried fish was my fav. The service was great, but fall short of the Thai hospitality one would expect.

One of the best restaurants in Bushwick. The ambiance, service, food, and drinks are fantastic. Had a reservation online and being seated was a hitch. We started with drinks, which were all unique and beautifully crafted. The menu is a modern and contemporary twist on authentic thai dishes. We started with the fried taro fritters and chicken wings. Both were seasoned well and fried to perfection to their own specifications. Som tum, green curry, crab fried rice and massamam curry were all great. The crab fried rice was subtle with its chili oil so it came away as the spicy-est dish. The massmam curry was a hit with its brisket being melt in your mouth tender. You can't go wrong with Tong, it's a must for Bushwick!

Tong was a little piece of Thailand in Ridgewood, Queens. It was hands down one of the best Thai places for food that I've ever had. I hope to see another location open up in Long Island possibly, which would be closer to home for me. I highly recommend getting the branzino! It was just the right amount of crisp and spice. The atmosphere was great, especially the pipe details. Service was good and the food came out quick. The drinks were very refreshing and the ice cubes reminded me of speakeasy places. I can't wait to come back and try other items on the menu.

Tong was a pleasant surprise that I stumbled in upon with my party of 4. The food was very good (also beware...very spicy!) and had a lot of variety. We ordered the mocktails, which were a bit too sweet, the octopus, the crispy rice with cabbage, the khao soi, fried branzino, and the massaman beef. Extra shout to the presentation of the branzino, i thought it was very cool. You can also eat the whole fish too, because its so fried. The octopus was also very tender and flavorful, definitely enjoyed this one. Lastly, we ordered the lava cake dessert which was a tad disappointing. The ice cream was frozen quite solid and the "lava" wasn't very gooey. That being said though, it did not detract from my experience and I would merrily go back to Tong again : ).

The ABSOLUTE best thai food I have ever had. No lie. I wish this place wasnt so far from where I live or Id come everyday. We ordered the pork jowl, papaya salad, pork rib, crab fried rice, gong garee. Loved EVERY single dish and recommend each one. My personal favorites were the pork rib and crab fried rice. I would be cautious of the papaya salad, its got quite a lot of kick to it, delicious nonetheless! Tasted thai flavors i never tasted before and tasted extremely authentic!

Came here with a large group for a friends birthday dinner. The ambiance was cute. But they could not sit us together even though we made reservation ahead of time. We only knew when we got there we will be sitting apart from each other. On top of waiting for them to prep our table for our group. The food was decent. But nothing was special about it. Flavorful for some things. But overly spicy where it covers the flavor of the food. The fried rice was the highlight of the night. Nice to try once but not coming back. The servers were pushy with drinks if we wanted to order more. I understand that where restaurant makes their money but it got a little annoying when every time they came over was to ask if we wanted more drinks. My first and last time here

Run, don't walk! The food is incredible and the decor is just as beautiful. Had never been to Tong before but saw that they had reservations open and wanted to check it out one weekend. Everything was so flavorful. I highly recommend the oysters, they had a little bit of everything! Cocktails were balanced and refreshing as well. For dinner I had the crab curry. It was definitely spicy but so so so good. I saved some to bring home and ended up eating it later that night. Service was fast and friendly, no complaints. I would say that it's a little pricy, but nice for a fun date night out. If you can handle the spice Tong will bring it!

Really great food. Recommend the massaman brisket, beef tartar, and the drunken noodles!

Tong is a unique space in Bushwick. We visited on a Sat at 5:30. Parking wasn't as difficult as expected. We found something right near the houses on the next block. It was a gorgeous day so we expected the place to be packed but that wasn't the case at all. They have 2 spaces with a wall in between. One is a more rustic covered outdoor area while the other is a smaller, more intimate traditional space. For drinks we had Mocktails because medically I wasn't allowed to have alcohol so my partner was being supportive. I had the Dok Tong-Mixed berry, rose water, lime, ginger beer. Bae had the Won Tong- Lychee, butterfly pea, orange blossom, tonic. For starters we had the vegetable dumplings (4). We also had the Gai Tod which is a crunchy fried chicken. They sent out about four pieces. I tried the leg and it was actually quite flavorful and tasty.Things were going well until they weren't . Prior to choosing the restaurant I previewed the menu and chose the location with confidence that both of us would find plenty to eat. He has severe allergies to shrimp (my fave) and I have walnut and pecans allergies. One might ask so why did we come to a Thai restaurant? Well, because it's one of our favorites. What we didn't foresee was that on the day of the visit, the establishment would alert us that their menu has extensively changed. WTF? Why would they think that's something they should highlight on the website? It was def a case of "catfishing" the food version. They weren't even apologetic. Needless to say after the two appetizers, we found ourselves backed against a very short menu and even shorter list of things we could enjoy so we paid the tab and left .Dumplings $12 Gai Tod $12 Drinks $10 ( each) Overall- Largely disappointing. 3/10

I had given up on one of my nostalgic faves. Pad Thai felt like a memory I wouldn't be able to grasp again! I have been to amazing restaurants and it seemed to be the one dish to keep consistently falling short. I had seen the description for the pad mhee korad and decided to give it a shot. I'm so glad I did because I was in heaven after the first bite. It is so insanely delicious and I have ordered here like 6 times now. I haven't had one thing I do not love here. Try the goong garee you won't be sorry!
