Delicious, indulgent soba in rich duck broth with plum paste - my only wish is that the broth came out piping hot, not warm. There was great depth and flavor, but was it worth the price tag? For a whopping ~$50 lunch for entree + one app split with my party, I am glad I have tried it but will likely return to raku to get my noodle fix. The homemade tofu however... this was a revelation and I will think about it for a long time. Sweet, savory, texture is somewhat like mochi, and pairs so well with wasabi!

The restaurant has a traditional Japanese layout, offering an immersive dining experience. I was seated at the high top table & it was very fascinating to see the food being prepared before my eyes. I ordered the plum sake $14 and paired it with salmon ikura soba $36. The sake was slightly underwhelming in portion size. The salmon ikura soba was delicious & showcased fresh, flavorful salmon atop of soba noodles. The dish blended well with the vegetables and the dashi broth, giving it a refreshing and earthy taste.

Japanese soba restaurant Uzuki is one of the best meals I've had so far in 2024, and I love the little personal touches in the decor as well. Service is attentive. Small bites (and def small) are ~$11, soba ranges from ~$26-58 (good portion size), and desserts are ~$10 Here's what we got! - Grilled Soba Miso with Rich Dashi a pretty unusual texture (grainy?), but super umami and tasty. Pretty small. - Uni Ikura Tororo Soba controversial opinion... but I don't uni BUT my friend almost cried eating this so if you like uni you'll love - Duck Shio Soba I LOVE DUCK AND IF YOU LOVE DUCK YOU'LL LOVE THIS - Soba Ice Cream in the running for one of the best desserts I've had so far in 2024. light & creamy. I really wanted to like this place but it was extremely disappointing. First I was shocked how expensive those soba noodles are. BUT!! Remember, I had high hopes so I didn't mind paying for it. We ordered tofu, gomaae and kinpira for appetizers. By far the tofu was the best dish that they have in this restaurant. Gomaae was nothing special, but kinpira was so raw to the point, I wanted to go into the kitchen and recook it myself! I still had high hopes left for the main dish which I ordered black truffle curry yakuzen soba. Biggest mistake. Curry was so overwhelmingly powerful to the point, after the first bite, I didn't even notice truffle flavor any longer. Their towari soba(I don't know why they call it "towari", it's actually called "jyuwari" in Japan) just died in curry flavor too. And it was $58 for this bowl of soba. I was expecting perfection. My friends ordered salmon ikura soba $36, did not taste dashi(umami) at all, another one ordered duck shio soba $42, nothing special. Unfortunately, we'll never go back.

The overall experience is very nice like dining in a gallery with the interior design as a cultured alley. It's a feast for the eyes as much as for the palate. The food, fresh and beautifully presented, does not disappoint either. The aroma is inviting, and the soba ice cream is a standout treat I'd highly recommend. However, there are a few areas where there's room for improvement:- The chopsticks, despite their unique design, pose a bit of a challenge, especially when trying to pick up the thinner soba noodles, which slip through the gap created by the chopstick tips.- The soba noodles, possibly freshly made, tend to break easily, making the dining experience a bit awkward as I struggles to gather up the broken pieces with the challenging chopsticks. (I have been using chopsticks for decades in my life)- The value feels off with the duck soba. At $42 a serving, the portion is on the smaller side, featuring just 4 slices of duck, which might not justify the price for some.- Service appears to be slow, and getting the attention of a server can be a challenge, with a noticeable inconsistency in the order in which food is served to customers. We waited for 50 mins to get the order while people next to us ordered 30 mins later got their order within 20 mins.

Soba. Soba. Soba. Miyazono san makes soba himself, on premise, and that's enough for you to come and try. The decor is like bolting a sobaya in a thrift shop, but hey, this is Greenpoint, and that's a feature, not a bug.Tip: Right everyone comes here for Miyazono san's soba, but the tofu with buckwheat is worth trying with different texture than typical tofu.

Food was good, you can tell they used really high quality ingredients. Prices are here for portion size and neighborhood. Service slow but very kind. Incredible industrial space.

Tried the duck shio soba. The flavor and texture of the soba didn't quite work for me - was chalky and bland. The space is a bit of a mishmash but it feels as if they are trying for a more refined restaurant than they accomplish.

Fantastic buckwheat noodles. Definitely worth a visit.

Extraordinarily good. It’s the kind of place you want to gate keep but also brag about. Go while you can. It’s a different level.

The food was great, but the service was incredibly slow and inattentive… we first sat down for a good 5min until they served us water. Let’s not even mention about the wait serving the noodles.. we waited for at least 40 min… a lot of improvements need to be

Ordered the: Neri Tofu, Black Truffle Curry, and Duck Shio. Overall, the tofu & duck shio was A++.First time having homemade tofu, and real wasabi, and I’m happy we ordered this. All of this with the dashi broth was great. The duck shio was my personal favorite of the soup. The pink peppercorn is a fantastic add of flavor, which gives a very light citrus-tang to the broth & some bites.Black truffle curry was underwhelming. Just tasted like a nicely spiced & flavored soba curry with some duck. Wasn’t an all star, especially with the price too. Shiso leaf sorbet at the end, was just like shaved ice. Didn’t wow me, would be delicious on a hot summer day though. I would come on a scorching day just for that in a paper cup hahaI would recommend the duck shio by a long shot! One of the best soups I’ve had in my life.

Ambiance is really nice. We got our food an hour and a half after sitting down, and I didn’t feel it was worth the price especially considering the portion size of the duck.
