Incredible beef ramen!

We came here on a Sunday afternoon. We were seated right away. The appetizers came on time. The host / server was nice and polite. The ambiance was decent . Nothing mind blowing. The good was pretty good, pretty salty in my personal opinion. We got the edamame, okonomiyaki, Shishito pepper to start. Then we all got a ramen bowl as well. The starters were pretty good, but I regret not getting the fried chicken instead (seems like what’s what the rave here is really about). The ramen was decent. The price didn’t justify the flavor. With the appetizers , entrees, tax, and tip, It was roughly $38 per person. Not the most expensive in the neighborhood or New York, but I guess our expectations weren’t met seeing that this place has a 4.9 average star rating at the time of this review. The beef and chicken broth had flavor, but the saltiness was overpowering, not allowing any other flavors to be highlighted.Overall pretty good, just not mind blowing. Glad I got to try them.

Simply fantastic from service to the rich flavorful ramen broths and great noodle texture, to the interesting other menu options. Loved it

Giving it a 4 stars because the effort and intent was there, but the Miso ramen was unfortunately too rich for my tastes and I couldn't finish the broth, although the wavy noodles were perfect, very Q. The Karaage was some of the best I've ever had - it came out quickly and straight out of the fryer and it was melting in my mouth. One waitress was working the whole restaurant and was doing a fantastic job. 5 star service for sure.

This is hands down the best ramen I’ve had in NYC ! Came here on a Saturday night and we got seated in less than 10 min; I got the Gyukotsu ramen and it was absolute perfection. The beef bone marrow broth & braised short rib beef was so flavorful and well made. I especially liked the chopped wood ear mushrooms (new fav mushroom). We had lovely experience; this place is honestly a 10 / 10 for food, service, and atmosphere.

All the ramen is excellent, when I used to eat meat, I fully enjoyed the beef ramen. Appetizers have been good too.But we've become vegetarian, and I have to say their veggie ramen is the best. Not an after thought, absolutely delicious, there's a creamy tofu one and and a miso one. Best in the neighborhood hands down.Brunch here is also great with the ichiju sansai! Everything has always been very fresh and tasty, with excellent service.Vegetarian options: some of the best veggie ramen with 2 different options i've had

Za-Ya has the richest, yummiest Gyukotsu ramen in Brooklyn, and I suspect the city.Paired with some Kitaya sake, this is a must have, and it will heal your soul.Their Spicy Gyukotso Miso is very good too, albeit too spicy for my fragile constitution.Their sashimi platter is outstanding, but I think it's a summer thing. They do rotate some of the starters seasonally. The Karaage has GREAT texture, but I think the batter could use additional seasoning, since it's a little bland and the spicy mayo it comes with doesn't really do anything extraordinary. (I'll keep trying it in the hopes they'll listen, because it's still tasty).Operated by the owner (I think), this is a great local spot for residents of Bushwick and their guests, and its proximity influenced two apartment moves for me - that's how much I love it.Front of house is very friendly as well!
