Applied here a few months back and got a job as a dishwasher they never let me start, at first was very helpful and understanding and then the day I was supposed to start, there was a random freak snowfall which caused my car to slide on the road and where I was coming from there was an accident that required multiple first responders who blocked the road for me to get there, so I let Jason (one of the managers) know and at first he told me “No problem man you’re all good, the roads should be better tomorrow” and then not even 2 hours later sent me a text saying they had to fire me after speaking with “Upper Management” which is extremely sketchy and said there was nothing that could be done about it. The food is probably decent bar food you can get anywhere but I just want people to know who they’re eating for and giving money too when they eat at this place. Multiple people from the area even told me how messed up management is at Forty Thieves. Didn’t want to write this but im not sorry

Kinda loud, but in a fun way. There were multiple all-bar sing-alongs! Wings were absolutely fantastic. Crispy & generously sauced. 40 sauce is highly recommended. The fries portion is gigantic! Great beer selection & friendly staff. A small mistake from the kitchen resulted in free wings!

From the moment I stepped through the door, the bar's unique theme, inspired by the tale of "Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves," offered an intriguing backdrop to the evening. The ambiance was a seamless blend of storybook allure and modern sophistication, making it a standout in the neighborhood. The menu was a delightful surprise, boasting an array of craft cocktails and beers that catered to all tastes. Each drink I tried was a testament to the bartender's skill, mixing classic flavors with innovative twists. The food menu, though I only sampled a few dishes, was equally impressive, featuring diverse cuisines that were both satisfying and creatively presented. What truly set 40 Thieves apart for me, though, was the sense of community and adventure the space invoked. It felt like a place where stories could unfold and memories could be made, much like the tales from The Arabian Nights. The staff was welcoming and knowledgeable, adding to the overall warm and inviting atmosphere.Whether you're a local or just passing through Buffalo, I'd highly recommend making a stop at 40 Thieves on Elmwood. It's not just the drinks and food that will win you over but the entire experience – a blend of myth and modernity, all set within one of the city's most vibrant neighborhoods. This spot is truly a treasure of Elmwood Village, and I can't wait to return.

Waitress was lovely, left her a healthy tip. Food was horrible & pricey. Ordered a hamburger & a soup, both of which had a lingering strange almost old flavor to them. Both me & my husband left our respecting dishes untouched, only satisfying our hunger with a plethora of french fries.

Good food in a local bar/pub. Nothing fancy on the inside, but comfortable atmosphere. Great friendly service and delicious food! The folks down by the bar when we were there seemed to be having a blast! ?

Stopped by a couple weeks back for a late lunch / early dinner with a few friends. They were pretty busy & continued to fill up while we were seated. We were sat in this cool little loft area that allows for great views of the TVs & overlooks the bar area. I had the Grilled Chicken Pesto Sandwich & fries, which I would not hesitate to order a second time (so good). They had a pretty impressive selection of alcohol beverages from cans, draft, & cocktails. Our waiter was very polite & attentive up until nearly the end, at which point we had to go to the bar to ask for the check because it was never brought to us. Other than that everything was great, definitely looking forward to visiting again!

Came in with a table of 10 . We hardly saw the waitress and was outside on enclosed patio which was heated and was good til the owner said he had to open door to bar to keep the bar warm. Which was not true. It was freezing out there . So we asked to move inside and when we moved inside they closed the door then. The night bartender/waitress was very good. The owner was rude.

Order the Tenderloin Sandwich! By far the best thing on the menu.I ordered the stack burger and that was great also. But I had a bite of my friends tenderloin sandwich and was so jealous haha plan to get this sandwich next time so I can enjoy all of it myself!

Great service from a friendly staff featuring a well curated drink and food menu. As everyone else mentioned the portions are enormous and reasonably priced; even the salad comes in a comically large bowl (pictured is the side salad). We ordered the Buffalo chicken sandwich, the meatloaf, and the chili, enjoyed it all and ended up very very full with leftovers. I'm pretty sure 90% of the menu has some kind of cheese, nothing wrong with it at all, but there was a vegan option if you must be like that. The mac salad is a must try and the meatloaf is some darn good meatloaf and comes with more of that cheese. This place has a fun and lively atmosphere, it's a vibe for sure. I would definitely return to drink whiskey and eat more cheese next time I'm in town.
