I called and ordered over the phone when I was on the road not too far away. I ordered chicken karahi, qeema naan and biryani over the phone. We were told to wait for 30 min so I waited in the parking lot. When I went in, I was told by the server to wait for another 15 minutes because qeema naans take time. I went in again only to be told by the server that they had run out of qeema naans. I told them to give me the rest, only to be told 5 minutes later that they had run out of karahi also. In the end, after wasting more than 45 minutes, I only got the biryani which tasted average.

Their customer service is exceptional. The food is good. Reminds me of Pakistan. Their food is good addition to BuffaloVegetarian options: It's labeled that what is vegetarian and they are very friendly if you want to ask them specific questions
Cozy and well-decorated restaurant that has potential. The sit-on-the floor cushion seats and the laptop tables are a cute change of atmosphere from the usual sit-down restaurants. They are new and still getting on their feet. Seems like they have some usual customers and we were new. Our small orders were confused and grilled cheese was still solid slices of cheese. Biryani was given to us instead of white rice and had to be exchanged. The chicken tikka is excellent and the mutton nikhari delicious.They did give us free chocolate kulfis and were friendly. We hope to see them improve so we can go back soon. Love the split American/Indian menu.

This restaurant had some of the most bland and tasteless desi Pakistani food I have ever had. Service was really slow when we were the only ones in the restaurant for a while. The food had no flavor and was not worth the money. Go somewhere else tbh. The new owners are not running this place well.

The food is always excellent. This is genuinely one of the most beautiful restaurants I have been in as well. The service is lovely. Let's talk about what we ordered for tonight's dinner:- Nihari: a thick beef stew that pairs well with the naan. Want something spicy and warm for a cold night? This, or the chicken haleem, which we have tried previously, are the curries to have. This comfortably served 4.- Chicken Karahi: flavorful and spicy chicken cooked to perfection. The meat simply falls off the bone. It is cooked with tomato, peppers, and onions. We ordered this because my brother does not like Nihari, but there was enough for everyone to enjoy as well even though we had gotten a half.- Plain Naan: naans baked in a tandoor oven have a fluffiness and texture that can't be initiated elsewhere. Likewise, the Apna Dera Naan was all this and more. I've been to many desi/ South Asian restaurants in the Western New York area but these have to be some of the best naans I have ever had.- Paratha: we ordered this late but this flatbread was flaky but hot and the crunch was a great texture change from the softness of the naan. Paired excellently with the Karahi.- Kheer: this was provided as a compliment from the chef and none of us had any room for dessert (or so we thought) so imagine our surprise when the service approached us with an entire dish of Kheer. Kheer is a milk dessert similar to rice pudding, and it wasn't as sweet as I had expected. An unexpected but satisfying way to end our evening at Apna Dera.I can't wait to go back again with my friends this time around.Dietary restrictions: Halal

Incredibly delicious food. I ordered takeout and our lunch order of about 4 meals was ready quickly. The restaurant and staff seem very nice. The mild chicken karahi was so tender and yummy, and so was the channa chaat. I don't typically like onions and the chaat has slivers of purple onion, but they are so good in this dish. The mild level still has plenty of flavor and a little kick. All of us were extremely happy with our meals and will order again soon! (Note: the main dishes don't include rice unless they say otherwise.)
