Went for my engagement dinner with my partner and was not disappointed! Firstly, we had the best server who was so friendly and accommodating as we initially started out outside, but then my partner was a little cold, so were able to move inside without any interruption to the service experience. She was the best.
In terms of the food, I opted for the Pasta Bolognese, which was very yummy. Definitely wish I had some leftovers.
My partner who was in a rabbit sort of mood, I suppose and got all appetizers for her dinner, including the bread basket, mussels, and clams. She seemed to really enjoy them a lot, though she mentioned she didn't care as much for the sauce base they were both in.
For drinks, I opted for a Classic Cosmopolitan and she had Prosecco. I really enjoyed my Cosmo! Almost got a second one but resisted, haha.
This place is definitely worth a visit if you're looking for a nicer than average dinner out with well above average deliciousness.

I had such high hopes for this restaurant when sitting down for my first meal at Mother's. I've heard people around town talk about this eatery as one of the best around, but I was sadly disappointed in my overall experience. The good: Service was excellent. Our server, MJ, took great care of our table. Was knowledgeable about the menu, patiently answered our questions, and was polite and courteous. Drinks were also good--cocktails were tasty. The bad: The food. Where to begin? Stuffed peppers came out lukewarm. Chicken cutlets were dry and lacking ample sauce. Only three small baby potatoes on the side, too--what kind of portion size is that? The swordfish was fine, but came with a side of rice that looked and tasted like an Uncle Ben's microwaveable package! I rarely leave anything less than 5-star reviews on Yelp. But it really felt like the restaurant was doing whatever it could to cut corners and reduce costs. For the price of our dinner, I was left wanting much, much more. Overall, a subpar experience. Definitely would not consider Mother's to be among the "cream of the crop" of Buffalo restaurants. You can find a better meal elsewhere!

My boyfriend and I went on Sunday March 3rd the atmosphere was ok. The whole point of us going was for the candle light dinner. 5 minutes after being seated the candle burned out and the waiter did not relight the candle nor did I ask. It’s not like the normal candles either, it was some type of candle in a glass that reminds you of the citronella candles you see in the back yard. The food was subpar. Over peppered and over cooked salmon. I guess they steamed the string beans but they tasted raw. Way under cooked! My boyfriend had the meatloaf and his was over cooked as well. And he said the sauce tasted like a cheap banquet tv dinner. We also had a basket of fries, which tasted greasy and hard. The best thing they brought out was the bread it was hot and fresh. After 4 bites of food my stomach started hurting. The next morning was even worst I woke up with the bubble guts and hot and cold sweats. We both did. I’m pretty certain we had food poisoning. I spent most of my day feeling weak and dehydrated. And it was my freaking birthday Sunday??♀️ 0/10 do not recommend! Unless you like bland food that will make you sick. ? never going there again!!!!

I went with my best friend close to Valentine's Day to celebrate my birthday and had such a great time! The place was packed but our waitress was lovely and so helpful. The food was pretty good and I loved the intimate atmosphere. We will definitely be returning!

The clientele has changed over the years and for the worse. It’s a shame because it’s ruining the ambiance and old school charm of the place. The night we were there one of the patrons yelled at the bartender for no apparent reason yelling over the bar to him “shut yo mouth and stop talking about me” it was bizarre! & another patron shoved her way into the bar and physically moved my bar stool I was sitting on to make room for her group and then said “I appreciate you girl” I was in shock. Maybe enforcing a strict dress code and banning baseball hats might help class this place up again. Our food was excellent & bartender was fantastic but our meal was cut short as we didn’t feel safe with the late night riffraff that was there.

Mother's is casual yet sophisticated! They have expert bar tenders and exceptional servers. The ambience is great you can come in for a drink after work or move to dining for an intimate Anniversary dinner. I've been going over 15yrs and it has become my new favorite place. The dirty Martinis are amazing and so is the food. You won't regret going to mothers!
