This place absolutely deserves more than 5 stars!!! When I used to work downtown, we ordered often for lunch meetings and would walk there in the nice weather for individual lunches...OFTEN!!!! Jim and Sam go above an beyond with their food and every interaction with their Customers! Seeing that they stepped up to assist and feed Front Line workers during the pandemic doesn't surprise me in the Least! Stop by for Lunch or Breakfast, or place an order with them; You wont regret it!!!

Fantastic little lunch spot. If you like deli sandwiches, etc. definitely try this place. Everything I've tried has been delicious. Online ordering is a breeze and the owners/staff are awesome. Highly recommend.

This is the second time we have tried The Gateway City Deli. Absolutely love the Larkin. The beef on weck was great. The blue cheese potato salad was wonderful. I personally like the tortellini salad. Would highly recommend if you're in the area to stop in.

Best deli in Buffalo hands down. Quality products, quality food, and quality people. Try their breakfast - you’ll be hooked in no time!

The Gateway City Deli serves good food at reasonable prices. Service is fast and friendly and they clearly take pride in what they do. We ordered the Larkin and Hotel Henry cold sandwiches, both of which were delicious. This restaurant is also COVID-19 compliant: the cook wears a mask and gloves and the cashier wears a mask and sits behind a plexi-glass shield. Takeout and sit-down options are available and there are dining tables on the sidewalk in front of the restaurant.

Great food, GREAT SERVICE, overall wonderful mom and pop locally owned business. The husband and wife are the 2 employees and they make their own bread daily for the sandwiches. The mushroom panini was amazing with tortellini soup.

I've been going here at least once a week since they opened. The food is always great and people are always friendly!

Okay, if you guys haven't checked this place out yet and you live in downtown you need to! It's owned by the nicest most hardworking couple. They make insane sandwiches and at really fair prices. They make their own bread for their sandwiches including focaccia and sour dough, and roast their own turkey. Their breakfast sandwiches are priced the same as places like Tim Hortons and not even comparable. Imagine fresh focaccia, prosciutto, mozzarella sandwich! I am really rooting for this place to get the recognition they deserve.

Great spot for lunch! Very centrally located in downtown Buffalo. The staff is super friendly and the interior is very clean. I recommend the Caesar Salad which comes with spinach and arugula instead of romaine lettuce which I thought was a nice change up! When we finished our meal, the owner came over to us and asked how our food was and you can tell that he genuinely cares.

A pleasant little sandwich shop with good prices and good food. I had a City Hall - ham, Swiss, bacon and spicy relish spread served panini style - and I really enjoyed it. I found the service to be very friendly and reasonably quick for fresh made food. Will be back.
