We came here on a Friday night and it was busy, but we got seated right away. I ordered the sashimi dinner and my partner ordered the tonkatsu.Both dinners came with a choice of soup or salad and I choose the salad with mine. The dressing was delicious and the vegetables were fresh. It also came with a bowl of white rice.The sashimi dinner was very fresh and the pieces of fish were generous. It was delicious and well worth the price. I was super full from my dinner by the end of the meal.

I am a Door Dasher and my customers have waited over 2 hours for their orders. One canceled and I didn't get paid for that order. I'm trying to make a living and this doesn't help. I was told they are too busy to give me an update. This is bad business.

Wasabi in the Dash's plaza in Amherst/Williamsville has been one of my favorite restaurants for years, so this review is not only going to be INCREDIBLY disappointing for me to be writing, but also (I'm sorry to say) absolutely disgusting! I brought a party of four (one from out of town) into this restaurant at 12:30 p.m. on Monday, December 4th, 2023. It wasn't very busy, just a few tables, with myself & my one friend at a booth, coincidentally able to view the entire sushi bar. The way the restaurant is laid out, I don't think any of the other of the few customers in the restaurant at the time were able to view the entire sushi bar as we were able to do. While we were waiting for the rest of our party to arrive, my one friend & I were able to clearly observe the one & only sushi 'chef' move over to the farthest left side of the sushi bar, to an area where he must have ignorantly thought no one could see him. My friend & I unfortunately (but maybe fortunately for ourselves and our other friend's health) had a clear view of what was about to take place. When this employee must have assumed he was in the best place to do so (all the way to the left end of the sushi bar), this one & only sushi 'chef' put one forefinger one at a time WAY up BOTH nostrils, digging deep into both (one after the other) for a good 10 to 15 seconds combined? When this 'employee' was done with his DISGUSTING, complete lack of respect for customer health public display, the rest of my guests arrived. At that point, there was of course no way I wanted us to stay & eat there. I told my party to hold on for a moment while I went over to the sushi bar (for my own curiosity) to see if this so-called food preparer was at least going to wash his hands! I observed him not only NOT washing his hands, but he also did not put on gloves as he began to work with food! DISGUSTING!? I then told my party that we were going to leave & that I would explain to them when we got outside why we were leaving. On the way out, I told the person who said he was in charge what happened, but he didn't seem to care. He said that I should understand that "this guy always wears gloves", whatever THAT was supposed to mean! I went back the next day to look for the owner to tell the owner what had happened. The same 'manager' was there (he said he was the one in charge so I assumed he was the manager even though he's always been a server) instead of the owner, who was again not there. After I again tried to make my concern known to him, just as I had told him the afternoon before, he outright told me that he really didn't care! While he was telling me he didn't care, he was also rubbing his nose & his mouth! Obviously he was nervous, but that is no excuse for NOT being aware of your actions as an employee of a restaurant! This made me even sicker, thinking to myself about all kinds of illnesses & diseases that could be passed to customers in this 'restaurant', as this person was also a lunch & dinner server! I've watched him handling plates & bringing plates to the tables for a few years now? It is with incredible disappointment & incredible disgust that I have to say that I would never, EVER step back in here again for any reason whatsoever! We all trust any restaurant to provide us with proper safe and hygienic food & food preparation, correct? But if this is how the management & staff of this 'restaurant' handles their hygiene & food service, with such carelessness towards food safety & their customer's health, I can only imagine what's also going on in the kitchen, in the back, etc!? I also wonder if employees here even bother to wash their hands after they use the restroom!? I'm being told by many that I should contact the Erie County Health Department about this, which I felt I was forced to do so out of a responsibility to all.
