Exponentially declined the quantity and quality of the food since establishing few years ago. Inconsistent taste in food.

We came here out of state and it looked like a clean place (which it was mostly) we ordered 3 appetizers and 3 entrees. They all came out in different order and the food was cold and old it was not made fresh at all you can tell they just heated it up…the biryani had no flavor they said it was Hyderabadi dum biryani but they had just cooked the rice separately added some color and than added a chicken they use in another dish on top..the rice was also hard like plastic and the chicken tikka masala was SWEET and flavorless…..it was not authentic indian food more like white washed food…the restaurant had almost 80-100 seating space but their bathrooms did not work according to them which is weird for such a large Restaurant and weird for both men and womans bathroom to be out of order at the same time. Anyways wont be coming here again wasted $85 for 2 ppl and we left all the food. I would give a 0 star if I could

I ate at 9 Spices this past Saturday night. It was a terrible experience, start to finish. We were brought our entrees (Chicken Tikka Masala and Lamb Korma) without anything on the table. We had to ask for plates, silverware and napkins. When they arrived, we just dug in, even though there were no rice or Naans (The menu listed a choice of rice or naan, that were supposed to come with the dish. We ordered one of each). We also ordered two appetizers: an onion pakoda (on the recommendation of the owner) which came out cold. And Aloo tikki, which were three small patties. When the rice and naan finally came out, we were halfway through our meal. The naans were cold and dry. The kicker to this entire disappointing meal? The prices listed on the menu (and their website) are not accurate. After I paid for the meal, and was suprised at how much more expensive the bill was, the owner told me they'd raised their prices, but hadn't updated the menu yet. Chicken Tikka Masala is listed at $15, I was charged $19.95 Lamb Korma is listed at $16, I was charged $18.95, plus an additional $3.50 for the naan which is supposed to come with the dish. The Aloo Tikki is listed at $6, I was charged $8. The Onion Pakoda wasn't on the menu, so I don't know what the price is listed, but I was charged $11.95. For a cold, fried dish. I would not return. The food and the service may be worth the lower prices but certainly not the ones they charged me.

Great Place! The customer service was fantastic! Especially Sirisha. For the food we ordered Madras Chicken curry which was really good, we also ordered the paneer butter masala which was ok.

Got in here with a different approach, more than usual. And it worked ??Order the Indo-Chinese fried rice ?.Was not dissemination, but they did well with a hint of cilantro to complement the dish alongside my Order. 4⭐️Sad part only fish available was tilapia.

It was very interesting to know from our server, that owner ‘strictly’ wants his staff -NOT to give cutlery or napkins unless guests ask for it.Didn’t know sambar is suppose to be served straight from the refrigerator !Expect better service when there are only two tables to be served on a Wednesday night. Please do visit to enjoy chilled sambhar and cold dosa.

I have a special needs kiddo who is in a wheelchair, 9 Spices does have handicapped parking available, but does not have a wheelchair ramp or accessible entrance. My husband was able to carry our 11 year old son inside. Once you get inside of the restaurant, the dine-in area is up another 2 steps. It wasn't too much of a trouble for us, since my husband is still able to carry our son. This is the reason why I took one star off. The service was very good and the food came out super quick. Our waitress tonight was very sweet. We are late night eaters and have arrived around 9:20 both times that we went, the chef was happy to let us dine in so close to closing. The food was absolutely delicious! We had chicken 65, saag paneer, onion naan and chicken tikka masala and enjoyed it all. The atmosphere is perfect for our autistic son, he loves the lights coming from the bar area and the music. He is non-verbal but he giggles non-stop every time we go here. We will definitely be returning, I just wish there was a wheelchair ramp with an accessible table to eat at.

I have never had their food before but I visited this establishment to attend a ugly sweater Christmas party. They have a nice bar. This place is known by many as The Hash 9 Bar at night. The restaurant turns into a lounge. The music is good. It's pretty much a hip-hop/r&b crowd. Go check it out!

My favorite has to be all of their North Indian curries! They taste amazing and remind me of home, so much. The chef caters to each individual’s spice level and tolerance so you never have to worry about the food being too hot / spicy. This is the best Indian restaurant in Albany!

I called in a few days before the weekend buffet and was told that they will have it on the weekend. I even reserved spots through the website as well as messaging the WhatsApp number. I was not told anything stating that there is not any weekend buffet. However, when I go in on the weekend, they do not have the buffet. Instead, they have a mini meal, which is a sample of a 4 different curries and a bowl of chicken biriyani. Some of the dishes, the chicken 65 and the chicken curry, were absolutely delicious but the biriyani was very dry. The food was good, but the misinformation is not acceptable - even on the website now it states that there is weekend buffet and you can reserve spots through WhatsApp or the website.

One of the best restaurants in Albany. It's got good food, good vibe, and good ambience. Plus, the staff working there is wonderful! Amazing samosas and service!! Recommended 10/10

I ordered food from this place for a party . Veg biryani, I ordered large deep tray but I got 2 half size tray delivered and they were not filled properly …kind of half filled. Rest all the food remains during the party except Biryani which was embarrassing. When I shared I got response that “we ran out of lids for larger tray, that's why we put it in 2 Half deep Tray which is same and provided extra curry” sorry to say that is not the excuse.Only positive thing I can share is food was tasty and delivered on time.
