Just had an amazing meal at 5 de Mayo. Cozy atmosphere, delicious food especially the pozole and friendly staff. Can't wait to go back. Acabo de tener una comida increible en 5 de Mayo. Ambiente acogedor, comida deliciosa, especialmente el pozole, y personal amable. No puedo esperar a volver.

I ordered some cecina tacos and the tortilla was half cold and dry, it's like they opened it from the bag and put it all dry with the meat. The taco drier than the Sahara desert.

It was empty when we got there (early for dinner), so out takeout order was ready very quickly. I was very happy with the spiciness of my shrimp dish, and especially so with the chipotle pepper aroma and taste. It’s one of my pet peeves when a “very spicy” dish arrives mild, but this one was great. The rice was a little blah but the beans were good and made up for it. I also liked the guacamole. My partner got a burrito and liked it. We’ll be back!

I recommend the chicken and beef soft tacos here with guacamole. They serve the tacos wrapped in two layers of pita here, so expect to get full really fast! The guacamole was unfortunately not as spicy as I thought it would be, and the salsa provided also didn’t have much of a kick to it. Our server was really helpful, helping us decide on which tacos to order and giving us a free bowl of pita chips to munch on while waiting for our tacos. There’s also a very strong AC unit in this small resto, so this is definitely somewhere you can escape from the heat on a scorching hot day!

Super cozy and delicious restaurant. If you’re looking to grab a quick bite or a whole meal this is the place. Portions are generous and flavorful, they have a wider variety of food than most restaurants. Staff was really friendly and attentive as well! Always checking up on us and offering if we needed drinks. Would definitely come back and recommend.

The folks at 5 De Mayo were very friendly, and the food was some of the best Mexican food I've had. It's located a bit off the beaten path, but it's definitely worth the effort. Our server was attentive, and double-checked if we really wanted the picante/hot version of the salsa (it was indeed VERY hot.) The chips were obviously made in store, and were crispy and tasty. We ordered the Carne Asada tacos, and the Carnitas plate. Our food came out within ten minutes. The meat on both dishes had a crisp sear, yet remained very tender inside. The side order of beans was seasoned well, and the rice was perfect. I would come back here any time!
