This place has been around for a long while, but I only came here for the first time this past summer, and now, whenever I find myself in the area, I try to come by here for a nice fresh sandwich for lunch. I'll usually get their fresh mozzarella hero, and I'll add tomatoes and peppers as well. They have hot tray daily specials, as well as other specialty Italian ingredients. I love that they're Mets fans and I want to try to support these guys as it's rare to see businesses last for decades now.

Been going for years. Always excellent. The new girl needs to put more on the fresh roast beef sandwich. Kind of short changed me today. Hopefully she gets better.

Okay, so reading all of these reviews, I thought I was getting the best sandwich ever! Sadly, I was let down. No roasted peppers?, no fried eggplant?....c'mon. Sandwich was decent. Wasn't what I expected. In the Bronx, you can't beat the Italian combo sandwiches. And for the price, this place is definitely not worth it.

Every time i visit new York city, i have to get my fix, the special with peppers and mushrooms. The potato salad and pasta salad are a must as well.

Got the black and white and tri color cookies from an Italian Restaurant in Longwood Fl (Cafe Paisano) and they are amazing! Reminded me of the cookies I used to get years ago on Franny Lew in Queens. Just get them when they are fresh and they are fantastic.

I have been coming here for years. The sandwiches are always fresh from the bread to the meat to all the delicious fixings.

Great sandwiches, simple and tasty, as they should be. The place is small, BUT you may get your stuff here and take it to the Mama's Backyard, an Italian bakery just 2 stores of distance, it's the same owner. There you may finish your meal with a coffee and a tiramisu!
