Accommodating service but the food- none of it was particularly good.Steak wasn’t the greatest cut or quality. Chicken was flavorful enough so perhaps that’s the star of the show. Tempura wasn’t comparable quality to other places in and around NyC at a similar price point. Ginger salad was decent, fried rice was mediocre.Unfortunately nothing impressed enough to have me want to come back but that’s as a non sushi eater so I leave 4 stars because this place seems highly rated by those who enjoy sushi and I don’t want to significantly impact their rating for something outside of their namesake.

I love this place. I’ve gotten take out here every few weeks for many, many years, and every time it’s wonderful. The people working there, especially the woman who has run the counter and I think has managed the place for all the years it’s been open, are fabulous. Times when I get sushi it’s always good, fresh, nice, basically as it should be. Lots of rolls, all of them tight and clean (I like the California roll because I’m basic and I seriously love imitation crab, no joke). But mostly I like “kitchen food,” like the gyoza, the rock shrimp tempura (just those two with white rice is enough for me). The black bean salmon is really good too. I’m so glad they’re still here in DF.

The 4.7 rating must have been from family and friends. We had old avocado in our rolls and the other rolls smelled fishy when there was no fish in it. The hibachi dinner was a joke. It was tiny, not $26 worth of food. If you want to stop faking and take a lesson in success copy Dai Sushi in Pleasantville. Sushi Mike’s, unfortunately you’re not that much better than this place. Be honest with yourselves and be better. Disappointed.

Niji Special roll is awesome. Any Chef's special rolls are very good. Also recommend to try hand rolls.
We like Sushi Niji and order from here semi-frequently. The people there are nice, orders are on-time (we usually do pick-up) and the food is completely solid. We typically stick to rolls and they're fresh, reasonable portions that make us happy. We've ordered appetizers in the past and feel these are a bit lackluster -- the cold soba noodles, while delicious, are a pitifully small portion (for almost $9!). I'd order them in the future if it wasn't more than like 5 bites worth. Definitely worth a try, but stick with the sushi and rolls.

Food was delicious and the dishes look very nicely set up as well. Miso soup was so good. The gyoza were so full of flavor. Spicy tuna sushi was amazing and exactly how I liked it. Look forward to returning again!

Ordered online and picked up from the restaurant. It was tiny and quaint but the food was delicious and the staff seemed very attentive when I went to pick up my order. The sushi was super fresh and delicious, I would order from here again.
