I made reservations on Aug 20th for a party on Sept. 17th, we sent out invitations for an Engagement Party for 25 people coming from Fla and all over Long Island we ordered all the food and The Reel said No Problem 4 weeks Notice and 4 hours Before the party The Reel calls up and says they have to cancel because of the weather, The weather that evening was Beautiful. What Restaurant gives 4 hour notice that they don't want to open. I had to call up a few places to see who can Accommodate us, I finally found Rachel's Waterside Grill in Freeport, Thank goodness for Nice people there. The Reel treats their customers Terribly and Very Rude when I called them back up the girl hung up on me. THIS IS NO WAY TO RUN A BUSINESS !!!!!!!!!!

Not the reel it used to be. We will never go there again. I wish I read reviews before going. Zero service. Food served in cardboard. Had to beg for water, service, cutlery to eat with (plastic). Terrible experience.

Horrible! You walk in the employees pass you without even asking are you being helped. Walked over where can I sit - took forever or wherever , can I have menus or okay - is table service available another couple of minutes- I then said how can I get a drink he said walk to the bar how about food or walk over there. I left not paying and begging for food and service. No idea if they under new management but it's horrible- this place used to be awesome.

Great music...live bands. Menu is now more casual and on disposable plates...but it kind of adds to the fun. Good drinks and fun, laid back crowd.

Quick service . Order drinks at the table. Food separately on the side . Fresh and delicious food.Live band on Friday evening. Good vibes for having out, they have outdoor patio with umbrellas. Ordered the Hot lobster roll, fairly priced $30. Delicious , worth it

Great views, live music, good portions, and tasty food. The staff were friendly too. Drinks are ordered separately and food is ordered with the hostess and then brought to you on the patio. Great for families in the afternoon and more lively at night.

Always a good time at the reel. We usually hang at the outdoor bar, good music, fun atmosphere, but the weather was bad so we went inside last time and vibe was still fun! The bartenders are all great. Pretty good mix of ages. And the food is good!

Food was excellent! We ate outside. Food comes in paper and plastic containers, which was surprising first of all, but it was all fresh and service was excellent. We had a lovely bus boy who helped us put up umbrella and ordered our food .highly recommend !

Under new management. The hamburger was very good, shrimp teriyaki a 2.5 out of 5. The tables are sticky. The food is expensive considering there is an extra charge for using a credit card & fewer dishwashers are needed with the use of disposable utensils and dishes. The major problem is everything is served on disposable plastic or in a paper box. Plastic utensils are wrapped in plastic bags, drinks are served in plastic glasses or cups. Anyone concerned about the environment, wildlife or their children’s future should be aware of what plastics are doing to our precious planet. The use of plastics can’t be avoided, but a restaurant shouldn’t completely rely on them, unless the food is ‘take out’. And to top off the arrogance, they have a sign that a table may not be used for more than 90 minutes due to “Covid”. Huh? Actually 90 minutes should be plenty of time to eat what they serve, but to move people using Covid as a reason?

its not the Reel that I remember which was a really classy restaurant. it must be new owners went for my birthday but ended up leaving. If you are local and want a bar finger food hang out its good for that but for a nice date night dinner

The only decent experience of this restaurant was the waterfront views ... we walked in we were told no waiter staff just a menu and you have to walk to the counter and then order your apps, and main course.. Thank God my table was close .. the next thing if you want drinks you gotta go to the outside bar and order them there , basically you are on your own here and walking back and forth .. the food comes in boxes and plastic utensils . I had get up and ask for addition napkins .. the tap water was disgusting, they seriously need to filter their water system , I've had better water from a water Buffalo in the Army . The food was decent nothing special for the price never again, but I also felt like I was eating cafeteria style ...the staff were like young teenagers with no worries in the world and didn't care to be there . The 1 man band guy they had was ok . Be honest this place has so much potential but no one seems to care at this place .. At no moment durning this dining experience was there a manager or owners checking on staff or asking customers how is everything . Then like at 9pm on a Sunday some young staff member was going to all the tables telling everyone dining that the kitchen and bar were closing ASAP and you better order now in a rude and aggressive tone ..funny thing they started turning some lights off to give us a hint to leave . Never again next time I'll go across the street to the "Lazy Lobster" . They charge 4% for using a credit card .

Not a fan, wouldn't go back. The staff was lazy, manager literally yelling at them to do some work instead of just sitting around. Food was sub par, drinks were sub par. Overpriced. It's a shame because it's a nice location. Bathrooms were a mess.
