It's a dreary cool, damp day in mid April. Clouds are doing the usual thing in Broome County. Since I needed a spring sheering I decided to stop at Franks on The Avenue for a cut. Lucky I went as they are beginning a major reconstruction on The Avenue. Well I got my hairs cut and since it was close to lunch I decided to check out The Original Italian Pizza just a few doors down from Franks. I go in the back door and was immediately greeted. Since I was going to take my order home I asked, "How fast can you finish up a cheese and pepperoni?" The answer was "7 minutes." OK ! Outstanding! Anyway the pizza is finished, I pay, load it into the car and head home. A few minutes later I open the box and theres this beautiful pizza begging to be eaten....and I did. This pizza took me back to a great NY pizza. Thin crust, just crispy enough. The sauce, uniform, tasty, not sweet, not watery. The cheese to die for with great stretch. Now onto the fold...a work of art. This is by far one of the great pizzas in the area. Great flavor and reasonably priced. They're open Mondays thru Friday 10 to 10. They have a nice size dining area and have a nice menu including stromboli, calzone, salads, spaghetti and subs. Now as I waited I noticed a kind of silent conversation taking place as orders were being taken and modified then delivered to waiting customers with everything to perfection. Not only does that speak of repeat customers but a caring staff that knows their customers and thats a great thing. I don't know why I didn't stop by sooner but it's definitely worth it.

I have spent $$$ of dollar at this place for delivery, the 1st issue was when I was going to Jeff Dunham concert the food was suppose to be delivered by 4:30,my ride was coming at 5:15at 5:00 when the food wasn't there, I called and the owner said we are busy and I said then refund my money I'm going to a concert and won't be here since you can't deliver it when promise. The owner said it's not my problem you already paid so I don't care if you there or not. iO have ordered food when I am out of town to be delivered and most times they are ok. Tonight I ordered food to be delivered to a place at 6:00 pm I asked the person it was delivered to to share with a couple people, he said they are not here yet(7:10) but will share with the regulars. I called orginal pizza again and was told it was delivered, I said okay let me call them maybe he mis typed. the owner didn't hang up the phone and was saying she is stupi, she doesn't know what she is talking about..... really asshole hung up the phone before you insult people that spend a lot of money at your busines, you need to go to classes on customer service and I hope you don't treat your employees like that. Your customers are why you are in busines. You definitely lost this one forgave you the 1st time you were a jerk, but not this time.

True to the phenomenon of weirdness in this area they fall right in. A pizza shop that what? doesn’t deliver to the colleges BU or SUNY Broome……ran out of pizza?….. And is closed on weekends. NEVER have I heard of such but then again, NEVER have I heard of a “sheet” of pizza? The hell? Is that a “sicilian” pizza? Oh no!! Because they also have “sicilian pizza on the menu, so Im lost, and I’ve NEVER had awful pizza until I got to Broome County. This is the best pizza in the entire Broome County. If you are from NYC this is the best pizza. Ny Pizzeria on Chenango st is garbage as is Nirchis and pretty much every single pizza place around. Willing to go to Whitney Point? You will find the next best pizza at Doninics. You know its bad when people buy pizza from the Speedway and Byrne Dairy.

I found out about The Original in Endicott when a friend from out of town ordered delivery for me after a death in my family. I was blown away by the quality and the portion sizes! Since then, I have been there to eat in person several times with friends and family, and it has been fantastic every time. We have tried the gnocchi, eggplant parmesan, manicotti, stuffed shells, and spaghetti with meatballs. All the meals come with generous portions of fresh bread and salad along with a dessert. The atmosphere is super casual, but that does not take away from the experience. The staff is very friendly. This has definitely become a regular stop for me!
