Gay trash throwing $1000's away playing house in there mildew shanties yet they don't have money to buy laundry detergent. Pines insane asylum.

This bar was extremely rude and asked my friend to leave after he went to the bathroom to pee. They accused him of being on drugs when all he did was purchase multiple drinks. Everyone else going into the bathroom was going in pairs or triples... Read into that as you will I feel like this was racially motivated as other patrons were not singled out with these accusations and my friend is Asian. They had their eye on him and grabbed him by the arm after he left the bathroom. Be careful where you go.

I visited for the first time Thursday August 15th, 2019. I liked the complex structure ( I love architecture) that this club is a part of. It is on the 2nd floor. And the bathroom and other businesses are on the first floor. The club was big and clean and had nice music. But that was about it. At 10pm it had not attracted a crowd. I thought summer would encourage people to step out. The bar service personality and drinks were not impressive at all. Cocktails were served in very small plastic cups for $15.00 each. Not including tip! Fire Island is a beautiful place to visit and enjoy the beautiful beaches. But purchasing overpriced mediocre drinks in a near empty club is not worth it.

Take a sip from your delicious drink ( served by a hot bartender)and twirl away on the beautifully lighted dance floor listening to one of their superb dj’s.

Sip N Twirl is a FIRE ISLAND staple. One of the best dance floors on the island and they always book top notch djs.... like me lol

On my way out, I walked past a conversation between someone from the group I came with and someone who was manning the bottom of the stairs, presumably from the venue. The apparent employee was telling my friend, "I'd totally invite you," then he turned to me and said, "You? Nah, just...nah." I had not asked. Not even nonverbally. About anything. I just gave him a dark look and kept walking.

The music was elegant and the suspender clad barkeeps tended to my every need providing me with liquid libations til my heart's content.

While I do not expect bars to have the same amount of customer service as other establishments, I have to say I am both horrified and traumatized by the way I was treated at Sip & Twirl. Like many folks on the island, I took a drink to-go, that a friend from my share had made me, and walked over to the harbour. By the time I meandered up to Sip & Twirl, I was still holding the drink though I was not actually drinking it. Abruptly, a man who did not identify himself, and who

Abruptly, a man who did not identify himself began speaking to me aggressively and telling me that I must throw the drink out right away. In my inebriated state, I did not see much of a problem, so I finished the drink and walked away, feeling that I had resolved the issue. The unidentified man returned to tell me that I was now banned for the night and would have to leave the harbour immediately. He said he was the owner and that he had the power to do so. He used inappropriate and personal language, describing my smile as, "a shit-eating grin," and telling me to "go back to wherever you came from,"; surely, this was a hurtful thing to hear on my first Fourth of July since moving to the United States. Furthermore, while I tried to reason with him and apologize, he remained aggressive, personal, and unprofessional, even using physical force to ask me to leave. I understand that this is a business that makes money by selling drinks, but what I did was no different from what many others do, and it was clear that this person had singled me out unfairly, and treated me as less for whatever personal feelings he may have had toward me. And although the owner of an establishment can essentially do whatever they want (that is, if he truly is the owner), I do think it is important to treat people with respect and to listen to what a patron has to say, especially one who is part of the Fire Island Community. In a world as divided as the one we live in today, I hope never to hear someone utter the words, "Go back to where you came from," at a bar, especially not on an island that is meant to be inclusive, positive, and united.

I never have a bad time here, but that's largely because of the crowd. Sometimes the music is incredible, like when Susan Morabito spun that Sunday of Pines Party. During the week it can be the only spot to meet other people or deads-ville. Either way, go and check it out. It can be fun.
