Went there while on holiday. While I don’t know about the coffee, I tried some pastries and they were great!

I went there on Saturday at 6pm and they had nothing there to buy. There were. There were two people but not sure if there workers or custom. We drove quite a bit and wasn't able to buy nothing. They seem only had these wet balls a small amount of cake and only three options I wouldn't recommend to go on a Saturday night.

Super unprofessional. Tried via insta and in store to get a cake order for a wedding. Busy serving customers who came after me, but understood her because she was the only one working. But did not respond back to me as she mentioned she would. Texted with details but no reply. Guess doesn’t want clients.

I hardly write 2 star reviews as I know it is detrimental to businesses but I really felt like my situation could have been handled better. Couple weeks ago, I went to place an order for an earl grey blueberry naked cake for my sisters birthday (1 week in advanced).I was met by the front staff who went to the back to call over another person to take my order. I was assured that they would be able to do the cake in time etc. She wrote my order on a yellow note pad including the flavor, size, happy birthday sign, date and time for pickup etc. I paid in full and in advanced. Fast forward a week later, I went to go pickup the cake. The front staff again had to go to the back to bring out another person to help me. This person did not seem to know where my cake was, she then called back the same person who took my order the week prior. I was then told there was some miscommunication and that they couldn't make my cake in that flavor. I asked why, she just said they couldn't do it and that they can make any other flavor and have it done in 15mins. I opted for a seasame cake at the end (though this was not what I wanted at all. I found Flowers & Flour because my sister loves earl grey cake and I came here specifically for this flavor and to check out a new bakery in my area). I walk away for 15minutes and return and the cake is ready, the girl there said she upgraded me to a larger size (thank you I think?) and then proceeded to type in the cash register computer. I simply took the cake and told her I paid already. The following is what I suspect happened: The cake maker (owner) took my order and probably lost the yellow note pad where my order was placed. So they could not contact me about my cake order which happened to be one of the specialty cakes they cannot just whip up in 15minutes. All other cakes probably have the same base layer and all they would have to do is whip up some cream and add in the flavoring. Which in my opinion is just lazy and detracts from the whole custom preorder cakes thing. I will not be coming back. The cake turned out to be too sweet for my flavoring and just looked really sad. I had to go out and buy my own fresh fruits and whipped cream to garnish it. I would have appreciated honesty and simply telling me you lost my order. If it took an extra hour or 2 hours to make a new cake in the flavor I wanted, I would have been amenable to it. Or a refund with profuse apologies. Upgrading the cake in size and then proceeding to try to charge me (again) is not ok. Do better.

Navigating through the culinary journey at Flowers & Flour, I've found an enchanting blend of whimsical and traditional bakery experiences, albeit peppered with a touch of unpredictability regarding item availability. On a vibrant Saturday at 3pm, the bakery, although thoroughly sold out of their delectable goods, persisted in remaining open, exclusively offering drinks. A second venture on a more tranquil Monday afternoon revealed a more generous offering of their array of baked items and a singular tuna sandwich amidst assorted gimbaps in various flavors - burdock, tuna, spam, ham, and ham and cheese. The baked delights, from a buttery and moist strawberry jam scone to an indulgent spam gimbap, filled with danmuji, eggs, carrot, and artificial crab meat, proved to be a delightful indulgence. While mayo's presence was mentioned in other reviews, it was the sesame oil that notably graced my palate. The basque cheesecake, however, stole the culinary show with its soft, perfectly sweetened profile, and a delectably burnt exterior that cleverly sidestepped any overly charred flavor. Amidst the delightful savors, the seating area emerged as a vibrant haven, where older Korean adults gathered for warm, lively chats, weaving a tapestry of community and conviviality. The allure of their cake has solidified my resolve to secure a reservation to explore these tantalizing treats in the future. A noteworthy addition to my experiences was the prompt and helpful service. Encountering items labeled in Korean or presented in acronyms posed a minor hurdle, which was gracefully alleviated by the amiable staff, who kindly offered translations and explanations, enhancing the inclusive and welcoming ambiance. While the somewhat capricious availability of certain items does invite a need for flexibility in your visit, the splendidly executed confections, coupled with the heartening atmosphere and commendable service, render Flowers & Flour a destination worthy of repeat visits.

Tried their kimbap and it was delicious and big! I liked their kimbaps more than the ones I get at Korean restaurants. The workers here are also super nice. I will be back to try their cakes! Love how instagrammable their food is!

I love coming here. The owner is a wonderful person and great baker. The cookies here are baked fresh in house every morning (you can even see them on the cookie sheet cooling before they're packaged if you come by early) and once they're gone, they're gone for the day. She's always creating new cookie flavors. I buy cookies to go. I share with co workers and family. The fresh juices are according the fruits available in season. The watermelon juice us amazing! They make it fresh upon ordering for. And the sandwiches and snack food such as gimbap are so fresh and tasty! Always excited to come by and try something new each time.

oh my.. what have we got here? A hidden gem!! This place used to be de cupping and ever since it closed down, I have never been inside although two new managements were changed.Today, we tried their cake and tuna kimbab At first, the cake itself has this looks of aritificial taste like pris baguette, and overwhelingly sweet. Or thought it was purchased from wholesale place, and placed in the container. But oh boy, i was wrong. Hands down the best cake I ever had in decades, and i can tell its handmade!!First i tasted the creme itself.. The creme is not thick or gives heavy taste feeling like some cheap cakes thats sold in franchise bakery. It has high quality creme texture that is light yet gives delicious chocolate flavor with deep cocoa fragrance and just melts in my mouth!Second the i tasted chiffon cake itself.. and wow just amazed how fluffy it is yet has perfect moisture that doesnt make me feel dry on ny throat. Third, tried strawberry separetly.. tasted ordinary, nothing special.Normally, I dont like writing one. But this eager, hoping the owner or the new management sees the review so they wont change this cake reciepe and keep it as is even it gets popular in the future ?

I am so grateful that I live so close to this cafe. Yes Murray Hill is full of cafes here and there but no cafe has really kept me coming back consistently. I seriously plan my next visit to this cafe in my head throughout the week, it's that amazing. Even with a sprained ankle, Ive made my way over someway somehow.I have personally never stayed long enough to sit in, but they have a decent sized seating area inside where I've seen other customers work. The cafe is very clean and not too loud so its perfect for a date with friends or to just work alone. BUT! The thing that keeps me coming back every time is their kimbaps. They are by far the best kimbap Ive ever had.. EVER. They're literally to die for, super addicting umami flavor, packed full of ingredients. They have a few options: tuna, spicy tuna, spam, and ham from what Ive seen so far. My all time favorite has to be their spam kimbap 100000/10. I can't recommend this enough (please don't sell it out thank you). Spam is usually overwhelmingly salty to me but here, not only is the kimbap packed with a good amount of Spam but its perfectly balanced. You get the saltiness from the spam, nuttiness from the sesame oil and packed together with their soft rice; heaven. Their tuna and ham are also exceptional, however their spicy tuna is no joke. It was and is the spiciest spicy tuna kimbap I've ever had. This is a real warning its not your typical spice, it hurts. Kimbap sounds so simple and it is, but whatever their recipe is, its winning. Also, major major tip: The kimbap are made fresh daily, but I believe they stop making as it as the day moves so don't wait for dinner to grab one, you'll regret it.As for drinks, I either go for an Americano OR a lemon iced tea large with two espresso shots. Its like a earthy and smokey lemonade. Its an acquired taste for sure, but so delicious. Their espresso is also extremelyfresh and you can tell because their Americano doesn't taste sour like most cafes do. 9/10!Overall, a winner in my book for best cafe in the Murray hill area. They also have a wide selection of desserts, drinks, sandwiches, etc so check it out FOR SURE. The staff is also very friendly and makes your experience overall that much more enjoyable. Permanent citizen of flower and flour here. Will be back 100%
