For years I've been in incredibly jealous of all the wonderful Polish options in Brooklyn, so much so that when I learned the infamous Krolewskie Jadlo (#1) opened up in Ridgewood, I just had to go. It wasn't exactly the same animal as it's Greenpoint counterpart, but I still enjoyed it all the same. Fast forward 10 years, this Ridgewood location has closed and I mourn as always. The Ridgewood location was extremely similar decor wise, with this old rustic charm and was friendly for all walks of life, including a popular bar and lots of seating for mini groups. Food wise, they held true to their "King's Feast" namesake. The food was like many Polish cuisine encounters: hearty, worthy of family style, and with plenty of variety. The meat options were plentiful and even simple things like pierogis were always fire. I especially loved the family platters, i.e. the "plate for 3" or "plate for 4" which were a mix of just about everything. It as massive as it sounds. The standouts for me were easily the beef goulash, hunter's stew, stuffed cabbage, and of course, their in house kielbasa. The service was always on point and kind to me always. Kitchen was a tad slow on their orders every time I came here, it would never shock me to wait at least 35-40 minutes for food. I make it a point to come with good company so that a good time is always had. And while they closed, there is still a happy ending. The original Brooklyn location lives on and this location is offering the same things but under a new name (#2). I hope the new spot is as enjoyable, if not better, than what it was before. ___________ (#1) They are awesome: yelp.com/biz/krolewskie-… (#2) Now Okrasa: yelp.com/biz/okrasa-quee…

Enjoyed a simple goulash! Mashed potatoes with gravy with beef chunks. Red cabbage and sauerkraut. Would definitely return. Mary had vegan cabbage rolls and we ordered a pork cutlet to go for her Mom. Her Mom said best meal in a long time. Good bang for your buck!

Three of us went there for dinner, so we can try some of the traditional Polish dishes. The place doesn't look attractive from outside, but from inside is a little bit better. In my opinion, they lack of making this place a little bit "warmer" place, a few pictures, a carpet or/and some fireplace would make this place much pleasant. They do not need a plasma screen on the wall. It looks like a typical local eatery. A wooden bar, chairs, and benches are furniture, service is ok for this type of Polish dinner place, but there are not too many options if you want to try typical Polish food. Mostly appetizers are Polish style. The menu is modest. 3 rounds of draft beer, an appetizer for 3 (we had pirogy with meat and cheese, but they were extremely underseasoned, almost plane), NY Strip Steak (only 22$!), chicken breaded schnitzel, pork shoulder and 3 pancakes (cheese+fruit) were 114$. That is a good bargain, you must admit. Entrees were more than good, a draft beer has an average taste, but we will definitely come back. The service is a little bit lame, there is a lot of space for improvement. For example, when they figure out that you are not Polish, they have a different approach. Just saying.

I have always passed this place in the neighborhood. I finally got a chance to go try some of the food with some friends and it did not disappoint. The service was friendly and prompt. The food served hot and well seasoned. 5 stars for the overall experience.

Food and service and prices were great. Only reason this is not a 5 star rating is because we wish there was a better bar selection.

Love both the greenpoint and ridgewood locations! Really great pierogi (I get fried) and red borscht!! Their kielbasa is yummy and so is the lard with bread. Recommend to all who want to try Polish food, coming from a Polish person :) Polish older ladies work in the kitchen, which is a good sign as another reveiwer mentioned. Ambience is cute too and prices are extremely affordable.

So much good food, huge portions, fresh and traditional food . Service could be slow when they are full. But it's worth the wait. Hungarian pancake is the best with a beef stew- just ask the to make pancake little bit more crispy
