I visit this spot a lot since I work right next to it. I must say their customer service is always great and they keep the spot well organized at all times. Rates are convenient and they serve sizeable portions.

One of the only non-Asian food court options in all of Flushing, Ok Lah started off hot with heightened fanfare (#1) to offer healthier food options to the hood, something that was already prevalent in the city, but not so much in a place like Flushing. To add to that, they were one of the only locations in the area to offer American, vegan or Filipino cuisine (mainly via catering). The fast casual setup was seen as expensive ($11-13) to most local diners (#2), but was a fix for others looking for a break from Asian cuisine. Owners Carson and Neil brought their own unique flairs to the food and it definitely showed. The options were typically hangar steak, salmon, and roasted chicken followed by a wide range of veggie friendly sides. I enjoyed most of it personally but the roast chicken was so good that it was my last meal towards the end of their run. It was crispy, juicy, and succulent all at the same time. It truly was bangin' beyond belief. To be fair, the food was so much better than it looked. When items sit out for awhile, they tend to look somewhat dry and at times unappetizing. I think those who gave it a shot anyway were always pleasantly surprised in the end. This is especially impressive given the fact their kitchen was more like a large closet. Cooking tasty things in tight spaces; it doesn't get more New York than that. Though their last day was just before the COVID19 outbreak (#3), I am already wishing we got to see them in action just a little longer. ___________ (#1) Feature in NYT: (#2) Which was on par with or less pricey than many similar spots in Manhattan. (#3) Timing is everything.

I was here two days ago. I saw that they small sign up that said they are closing permanently at the end of this month. Truly sad to see them go.

A nice alternative healthy choice instead of the usual Asian fare in Flushing. Mostly American cuisine. You get a base of rice or salad, 2 sides and a protein. A nice sized portion. This is one of the food stalls in Queens Crossing. The food is delicious. For the main protein, I've tried the roasted chicken leg. Flavorful with a nice crispy skin. The hangar steak is my favorite, cooked to medium rare. As for sides. They are seasonal, so will vary according to what's fresh. The salmon pasta is pretty tasty. The roasted veggies tend to be a bit on the raw/ hard side. I guess its healthier that way. Love the Kung Pao brussel sprouts. Awesome. Seating: it's in a food court so there is plenty of seating. How to order a meal: Start with a base, then choose two sides, and finally a main. base -- choose 1 Vegan Herb Salad w/ Mint, Basil, Arugula & Kale Classic Tumeric Brown Rice & Quinoa 1/2 Salad & 1/2 Rice & Quinoa sides -- choose 2 (some of the possible sides are) Spicy Smashed Cucumbers Vegetable Slaw Kale Salad Papaya Slaw Seasonal Vegetables Salmon pasta Sweet Potatoes Roasted Herb Potatoes beets roasted veggies Choose you main protein: Roasted Chicken Grilled Salmon Grilled Steak Having a party?! You can special order a feast for a large group. It's kamayan night! Kamayan means eat by hand. Ok Lah offers a buffet style Kamayan, offering different foods, all served on banana leave covered table and eaten without utensils. You get rice, salad, appetizers, entrees, and sauces. For an extra charge, it will also comes with a roasted pig.

Flushing and clean eating isn't what comes to mind when you first step off the 7 train. OK Lah is the oasis in the dessert of what's IMO some pretty heavy cuisine that dominates the Flushing area these days. Located in the Food Hall (food court) of Queens Crossing, the menu is basically a choice of healthy veggie sides that can be combined with some healthy proteins like salmon, steak, chicken etc. Flavors here are pretty good and the food is fresh. I got the salmon (cooked well) on a bed of salad with a side of cabbage slaw. Slaw was good and the chili lime dressing was spot on. My only gripe is that the amount of protein they give you for the meal is pretty skimpy. What really piques my interest is their kamayan feast that is a catered event. It looks really good but you need probably 20 people or more to eat it. Prices here are fair and flavors are good. Probably a bit pricey for Flushing considering the volume of food you get but its pretty much the only healthy eating spot in Downtown Flushing.

dont go this place. meat is super salty. and super expensive compared with others, their salad is not impressive at all. this not call healthy, but just waste money if you buy their food .

Food is decent just like and regular American baked food. What I like about this is because very simple and not to bad for health. Not fatty and greasy. Bad thing I don't like about this is very pricey for a food stand. This is most expensive 1 entree meal in this whole section of food stand portions are very small and cost about $12. 1 Chicken/thigh few sides The chicken was crazy small rather do popeye meal for half the price.

One of the sole healthy food options you'll find in Flushing. It's a bit pricier than some other places in the area, but it's a good value for the quality and is line with other fast-casual spots I've been to. My only beef is that they often close earlier than advertised and my lunch break is pretty late. I sometimes drop by before my shift but it would be nice to grab a plate in the evenings when I haven't packed lunch.

I guess it's partially my fault for getting food from a place called "Ok Lah" but I was expected it to be amazing given the reviews. Got the roasted chicken leg lunch box with brown rice, which was still available at 4pm on a Sunday.. $7.35 on the menu, paid $8 flat after tax I guess? The TINIEST portion I've ever seen. It came in those little square takeout boxes that would barely fit a bagel. The chicken was pretty good flavor, cooked well and juicy, but the brown rice was cold, a bit hard, and clumped together. Hubby enjoyed the green sauce (chimichurri), but I didn't try it. Not sure if their main plate meal ($11 for the chicken leg) would've been a better value than the lunch box (more rice, an additional chicken leg perhaps), but the only difference I see in the description is the main plate comes with a side. Both allow you to choose a main (daily special, roasted chicken leg, grilled salmon, grilled steak, or vegetarian), and either all salad, all rice, or half and half. Though the chicken was good and the meal tasted healthy overall, the value was poor. I would not return.

I've wanted to try out this place for a looong time. It always seemed like a hidden gem and probably the only healthy option in Flushing. After seeing all the great reviews and photos, along with the opinions of my friends, I had high expectations. My friend and I came by on a weeknight for dinner, but it ended up being pretty underwhelming. For one thing, there were such little choices for sides? There seemed to be many more options on the menu AND from the photos/reviews on yelp. There was probably 5 max in reality. I was hoping to try the tofu and duck egg, but the worker said he doesn't believe they offer that anymore. It may have been due to the timing (closer to the end of the day?), but most of the sides were gone, limiting our choices even more. In the end, I ordered the steak with a half salad/half rice base with the roasted vegetables and roasted broccoli. My friend ordered the roasted chicken with rice, roasted vegetables, and beet. By no means was the food BAD. However, it wasn't amazing either for $13. It also left me feeling a bit unsatiated. I can spend $13 on much better food in Flushing, in my opinion. I don't mind spending more for healthier food, but only if the food is tasty enough. My friend was also disappointed in her chicken, finding it lacking in flavor.

Finally tried this place out during lunch time and they definitely did not disappoint! The thing with Flushing is that despite having many food options, they all become pretty one dimensional after a while. Sometimes, you just don't want to load yourself up with carbs, grease, and chili oil, you know? This is where Ok Lah comes to the rescue. They have all the factors to a successful food business. Their menu is straight forward (just build a plate!), and they have lots of healthy options to cater to everyone. Best of all, flavor and portions are totally not sacrificed. For my visit, I got a salad base with steak as my main, and cucumber salad and salmon pasta as my sides. Everything was delicious, and not one item overpowered the others. I might have gotten lucky, but the portion my server gave me for the steak was also huge! Along with a drink, my total came out to $15 but I definitely had enough food to feed me for two meals. I actually packed some of it home. Bottom line, I would definitely order from here over and over again to try all their options. The only thing keeping me from doing so (and also the reason why it's not a full 5 stars for me) is that they close pretty early. Yelp says 8pm, but their website says 6pm? If only they had dinner service as well!
