I am so happy to have discovered this gem of a bakery on the outskirts of Elmhurst, just a short walk from Queens Center Mall. Today was my second time visiting and I got the dried shrimp rice noodle with an iced honey lemon beverage, and some bakery goods to go (those sponge cakes were so big and fluffy, I could not resist!). This place has all the hallmarks of an authentic Chinese bakery. Let me list them. 1. Contemporary Chinese pop music playing. Music needs to not be too old, but not too new. Mid-last 2000s is the sweet spot. 2. Possibly cash only? (I saw a sign that they take card, but most customers seem to pay in cash) 3. They had rice noodle rolls with mixed sauce on the menu, which I was really excited for but unfortunately was sold out by the time I got there, so I got the dried shrimp one instead. 4. Great selection of baked goods but also so many "dimsum-adjacent" dishes. I am not sure how to explain this, things like steamed buns, dumplings, a small portion of rice topped with spare rib, etc. They make for good lunches when you just need something hot, but don't want to commit to a whole meal. The rice noodle was perfectly steamed, generous amount of dried shrimp, and was smooth and bouncy. The only thing missing was a good sprinkle of scallion, but I wonder if that is something I can ask for next time? Lastly, I was surprisingly happy with the iced honey lemon drink. Oftentimes, this drink tastes too bland (not enough honey), or comes out borderline lukewarm (not enough ice), but they made it perfect. That rounds out the 5/5 review.

Dim sum prices went up and quality went down, not sure who’s making the food at this location now, perhaps a new chef. Do not recommend this location.

Huge choice for bakery, grapped a bruch of it to go. Sadly I came here for dim sum but it didn't seem they have it or maybe they served it only in the morning.

They are never open when I come here. What's up with that? I came around 4 pm on a Tuesday and they were closed. It wasn't even a holiday...there were no signs or notices on their store explaining why they are closed.

This is my all time favorite chain of Chinese bakeries! I bought two hot dog buns with chives and sesame, a coconut and almond danish, and two slices of chocolate cake. Everything was delicious and affordable! I highly recommend stopping here in the mornings for a quick pick me up, definitely try the wide selection of dim sum for lunch as well! The ambiance of the bakery is great, the cashiers are welcoming, and the quality is unbeatable.

They violated consumer rights by not providing receipts and they overcharge your food.if u ask for receipts they pretend to be dumb.it happens .it happens to me 3x already that they over charge me 2.00 .a dollar or what ever they could. not to be recognizedby consumer.i wAnt to report them they are doing fraud and cheat on taxes by not providing receipts.

I paid with Zelle and they claimed to never receive it. This place needs to take card or Apple Pay.

A lot to choose from for sweet baked items; not too much savory options at the time I went, and there are other desserts I would like to try so will return. Prices are good. 3.5 I tried the mango roll slice but not much mango flavor. My son had the blueberry pineapple bread but he said blueberry is only the little topping and he couldn't tell the pineapple. The chocolate cake with cream cheese is shareable, and cream cheese part is not very sweet. Was satisfied with the HK iced milk tea with bubbles. Place is still new, a lot of seating. Area is off of Queens Blvd and is near the subway station.

Years ago, this building as a wannabe food court. The attempt was a valiant one. The building had been renovated with a small seating area and several counters that accommodated different businesses. Except for one or two businesses several wound up shutting down over the years. The only one I consistently went to was a roast meat stand which had good stuff. In time however the entire structure was shut down and honestly I thought the entire thing was just going to be torn down and replaced with something new. To be frank, the interior of the building became grungier over the years and after a while it was pretty gross. This is why much to my surprise I passed by this building and it had been completely renovated! Now it stands as one business: Rainbow Bakery. I went in expecting the standard trappings of any Chinese Bakery and sure enough, they had some of them such as roast pork buns. However, this bakery also features Mochi donuts (which are wonderful) and a variety of baked goods that I have not seen before. One of them was their "Black Sesame Cake" which looks more like a Black Sesame croissant. I don't care what you call it, this thing was *delicious*. They also had small, bite sized red bean pastries that were wonderful. Not too sweet with a really nice texture. This bakery also appears to make event cakes. There were several "display cakes" in the window and along one wall when you enter. They were very cute and whimsical. I am very happy this old building has gained a new lease on life and that it has been turned into a modern and clean looking business!
