My first exposure to Burmese food. I was really excited to try and learn about it. I enjoyed the suggestion from the staff. I'm also vegetarian. I was leaning towards one option, but he highly suggested someone else (the photo I posted and pointing to) and I went with his option.Glad I did. Twas amazing. Something I learned about the cuisine, is that food necessarily won't be piping hot. It's intentional.

I had the fish noodle soup. Moringa with vegetable somosa. It's very tasty. I would order it again.

I have only ordered from Uber eats. The food is amazing, however it’s hard to know what I’m ordering from the names…

This place was amazing. The coconut soup was my favorite. I definitely recommend. The curry beef was perfectly seasoned and cooked. The fried Burmese noodles were delicious.

Having ordered food to go numerous times, I have so many positive thoughts to share about this place! This spot has been around for years as a restaurant serving both Chinese American style take out AND Burmese cuisine. In my book this place is highly underrated for their Burmese food. First of all there are surprisingly very few Burmese restaurants in NYC period. Decades ago there was one sit down restaurant in upper east side which later closed and even today there are maybe 8-10 places across all 5 boroughs. That being said I'm glad this place is around! Asian Bowl serves a focused assortment of curries, noodles, noodle soups and rice dishes. Their curries pack southeast Asian heat so be prepared. This is not mild by most American standards, rather the kind that gives you a thin layer of sweat on your forehead. Totally hits the spot when you're craving a mouthwatering bite of spiciness. They stay authentic to the sour/tart flavors by providing a lime or lemon slice to squeeze on some of the dishes too. My personal favorites are the - latphat thoke (tea leaf salad) $12.99: this is a combination of chopped fermented tea leaves, cabbage, peanuts, tomatoes, fried garlic, sesame, served with slices of raw garlic slices and chopped green chilis on the side. It's a little crunchy and a terrific accompaniment for white rice. - kwa oh sechat (noodle soup with chicken or pork, mustard leaves and tofu) $13.99: I usually opt for rice noodles. This is a lighter broth with plenty of protein. It comes with a quail egg which is a nice touch. - mohinga (Burmese fish noodle soup) $10.99: this hearty rice noodle soup is a bit heavier in flavor with ginger and lemongrass, and comes with hard boiled egg and some crispy crunchy fried bits to add on top. - Burmese maifun $13.99: stir-fried rice noodles with veggies and choice of meat or tofu, simple and tasty. - curry combo box $13.99: basically a curry meal for one--choose two curry items and comes with rice a side of mixed vegetable curry. I've never eaten in but can say the owner is friendly and always greets with a smile. The restaurant is pretty small, maybe seating 15-18 people at most. Also much respect for keeping the prices affordable!

We had a 14-person family dinner at Asian Bowl on Christmas Eve and it was fantastic! The place was small and cozy, meaning we had it to ourselves besides the people picking up takeout. There is a variety of dietary preferences in our family (vegan, gluten free, omnivorous) and the menu was accommodating to everyone. The service was prompt, friendly, and patient with us.Dietary restrictions: Vegan, vegetarian, gluten free

Great food and service. The pad thai is some of best. Last time I tried the chicken fried dumplings. They were so good, not oily at all. I highly recommend.
