Worst staff I've ever encountered that are literally ruining a legacy. Such a shame. They serve melted sundaes to your table that come out to $20 and fight you if you have anything to say about it. Waitress teenagers never come back to the table to see if you need anything, not even a glass of water is put on the table. They are probably all too busy yelling at each other or customers. If you want 1950's has-been nostalgia with a matching 1950's side of foul attitudes & berating demeanor, then this is your spot. Nepo baby & his father are a rude, disgusting duo that have no place in the hospitality industry.

I am so incredibly sad & heartbroken to have to write this review. I grew up in Forest Hills and lived there for 28 years, Eddie's was part of my childhood & life. My dad also grew up in FH, he was going to Eddie's since the 1950's! Last night will probably be my last visit ever. I was a huge fan. I brought all my friends here from out of town, raved about them, own one of their tshirts, and come back as often as I can. I was in the neighborhood last night & begged my mom to bring me here. We came with a friend & shared a banana split. We ordered a few toppings - marshmallow, hot fudge, wet nuts, $1 each, no problem. The sundae must have been left on the counter for a while because it came half melted, but we didn't say anything. The kid who brought it over nearly dumped it on us. The sundaes are usually overflowing with toppings - the main reason to come here! Ours was lacking hot fudge - they maybe added 1 pump. Our waitress never came back, but we finally flagged her down to ask for a little more hot fudge when she served another table nearby. She says ok & disappears. After some time another teenage kid comes over to not only tell me I'm wrong & that hot fudge was on the sundae, but that she watched the owner put it on & that we ate it already. All we did was ask for a little more. There was no offer to give us more for another $1. Instead this bratty teen acted hostile, argued, literally clapped at me & brought the owner's son over. In the most rude, disgusting, condescending tone he also dismissed me, talked down to me with an attitude & told me if I ever had more fudge than was on my sundae tonight it was a mistake. Really? A mistake for 50+ years? Hahaha. They actually have photos of the sundaes I've photographed on their Instagram page because it looks so good! This nepo baby then proceeded to bring his father over, the owner, who also had zero solution & defended his rude son & rude staff. I am so sick to my stomach & quite honestly appalled they talked to a customer this way, after explaining my loyalty & the very minor ask of some extra hot fudge. How ridiculous is that? They are ruining a legacy with their attitudes & poor service. The teenagers that work there are new every time I go because they must have PTSD from working in such a toxic place with cheap, aggressive, berating owners. I can't believe one of my favorite places on this planet has gone so far down hill it's unredeemable. So sad for the neighborhood. My father is rolling in his grave at this treatment. They should sell the place to people with hospitality backgrounds & manners. Save your money & go to Serendipity, Brooklyn Farmacy, Caffe Panna, or any other ice cream spot with high quality product & high quality people. RIP EDDIE'S!

My friend took me here cause he raved about the homemade ice cream here. Let me tell you that I was hooked and will be a returning customer. The ice cream is creamy and has a clean taste. It taste like homemade ice cream. They serve ice cream with the fudge dripping off the sides of the glass. Soooo good. Moderate price inc. Hidden gem. It's old school style. Well worth it!!

Tonight I witnessed a display by the entire staff of Eddies a disturbing display of ignorance & unacceptable behavior to a customer requesting a little hot fudge which was NOT on their sundae although they paid for it. Instead of an apology for the mistake, the entire staff argued with the customers over a dollar's worth of hot fudge. I urge you to NOT patronize this store as the owner, his rude as can be son & the rest of the staff isn't worth going to. There are many other places you can go with friendly staff and WAY BETTER ice cream. Do NOT GO TO EDDIE'S. A horrible display in front of every customer there is unacceptable! Shame on them.
