I have stopped in many times over the years to have a pint at the bar but had never tried any of the food. Last night, I was in the mood for the ultimate comfort food type of meal and had been showing a colleague some pictures of my travels on Ireland; I immediately knew I wanted Shepherd's Pie. The pie was delivered rather quickly and was perfectly seasoned and prepared and the meat tender, flavorful, and juicy. The mashed potatoes lightly crisped on top but very fluffy from being whipped. I'm glad I remembered to take a picture because I ate it very quickly lol.

One of the best shepherds pie I’ve ever had, hands down. No liquor license though, so that’s a bummer.

Been here for 60 years serving fine food. The new owners don't have a liqour license yet- but the food is good- the atmosphere cozy- and the staff friendly! Nice place for a resonably priced meal! Great for families.

That sherperds pie sure hit the spot! Yadira was a fantastic server. The place is under new management and, at the time of this post, they don’t have their liquor license. Bit of a shame, but hopefully that all changes. Prices are very good too. The pie was only $16. Definitely adding this place to my go-tos

Absolute abomination. We used to love this place in the before times. The food was always fresh and excellent. Now it's horrifying. The fish isn't fresh. It's drenched in oil. The smell is never going away. The old salad must have been doused in terrible dressing -- yesterday. Soggy and foul. Had to remove all the raw peppers and onions and tomatoes from the "Cesar" (sp) salad. Maybe it's s the way a cook named Cesar liked it? We threw everything away and took the garbage out of the house. The oil isn't clean either. Bad. Really bad after taste after one brave bite. So bad. One star for delivery time, which was fast.

Nostalgic spot for us and it was great to visit again. Great service and yummy food! We ordered the shepherds pie (amazingly delicious and generous portion) and the steak quesadillas (so flavorful!). Because it was our brunch we also got one order of the steak and eggs) dish which come with potatoes and a small salad. It was a great Saturday brunch.

Love the Cottage! The burgers are the best. Lisa, Denise, and the other bartenders are so kind and always provide great service.

I happen to like the cozy dining area in the back....and was hoping this establishment (under new management) would thrive - since Banter did close....and it has potential based on location and size. But recently went here with a friend to just grab a bite....we didn't ask for liquor--we actually knew they still did not have their liquor license. It was about 7:45pm on a Friday night.....I asked the only girl working there--"Is it too late? Will we be rushed"? And she said that would not be the case. Well, as soon as we sat down, she ran over with menus and seemed to be in a rush - because the kitchen was about to close! at 8pm? We got our food....which was decent....the soup we ordered was tiny and was overpriced. at about 8:10pm, we wanted a simple side of fries--and she put in a full order - $10+ for fries. Then at 8:15pm, the same girl came by and told us if we could take the leftover food -- we were STILL eating to go!! She wanted to close - at 8:15pm!! She couldn't wait a few minutes? We were rushed out the door....never again!! I really used to love eating here--but that experience was HORRIBLE.

My mom and I have had our eye on this place for a while and we finally decided to go check it out. We went for a late lunch. There was no one outside or inside, except for two men chatting at the bar. The young Spanish looking girl was the one I guess running the place. She had ZERO personality. She told us as soon as we walked in that the bar isn't serving liquor, but we said we were there to eat. She just told us to sit anywhere and, again, she was unfriendly. We asked why there was no liquor being served, cuz I mean it's an Irish spot, and she said they don't have their license. I was completely over her lack of personality and attitude that I couldn't even look at the menu. I just wanted to leave. I'm not gunna eat somewhere and put money into a place with horrible service like that. So we walked out without ordering. Retrain that young girl please. If she cares to be a miserable soul, y'all aren't going to get anyone to come back or even eat there in general.

Do eat the Irish Soda Bread when you go. Don't forget to try their Corn ed Beef sliders if you don't want the meal. Need some Barry's Irish Tea, order it here and enjoy,

Stopped in feeling very hungry after a 5 mile walk with a friend. Left feeling very happy. My bacon burger was cooked just the way I requested and the accompanying sweet potato fries were great. Finished off the meal with a shared piece of chocolate cake. I will return.

Very pleasant (and FAST!) service and good food at a good price! One of the best Shepherd's Pies I've ever had, as well as fresh hot Soda Bread!

The place was excellent as always, the service was wonderful. The place was empty for a Saturday night and when we walked in we found out why, they had temporarily lost their liquor license and could not serve alcohol. Still enjoyed my dinner as I was celebrating a friend's birthday. We both ate excellent and they threw in my friends dessert for free when they found out it was his birthday. This is always been one of my favorite neighborhood places and I will definitely return again.
