A bar. It should NOT be classified as a restaurant. The waitress sitting with customers drinking beers ?

Always looking for good Domenican Food we stumbled on this place .. it was a pleasant surprise ! Delicious Food , super friendly and nice staff and the place was really clean ! Prices are great .. you can order off of a menu or get food from Buffett which they handle .. sit at counter or table ! They also deliver ... I highly recommend trying this for lunch or quick casual dinner ... we will be going back soon

My girlfriend and I a terrible experience on last Sunday night. This place is more of a dive bar that has 4 or so tables than it is a restaurant. Upon entering, having to get past the security guard at the door will erase any thought of this being a nice place to eat. Of course, you'll have to keep that thought to yourself or scream it across the table as the jukebox is so loud that simply talking is impossible. To increase the challenge of placing your order over the booming music, the waitress doesn't speak English. Unfortunately my partner speaks Spanish so we ordered food instead of leaving and not being overcharged for what we ordered! Yeah, the bill was wrong, but it was the managers response that: "the check wasn't wrong, it was just that the menus were old, so the prices went right" that really got insulting. Yeah, she actually expected us to pay the higher amount even though we could not have known that the prices shown on the menus given to us weren't correct. Perhaps I should say, that her answer would have sounded insulting but the manager doesn't speak English either, so only my partner was insulted at that time (I learned of the 'silly' excuse on the ride home. Eventually, after much loud and rapid fire Spanish between the 2 of them, we did get some of our cash back. Oh yeah, I should have warned you that this is a cash only place that doesn't have any signs warning you that they don't accept credit cards! The ultimate insult of the night was the garbage food. Watery seafood soup that lacked substantial seafood and a dry tough steak weren't even worth the price listed on the 'old menus'. I guess we should have been honored that the security guard thought highly enough of us that we didn't get pat down as a patron who entered after us did. Yeah, it isn't a nice place by any stretch of the imagination. It's only now that I see the 2 previous reviews are a few years old. So, be forewarned that this establishment has only gotten worse in the years it has been around.

A Dominican specialty is perineal, pork cooked on a spit. If you love it as much as we do, this is the place to eat. It is excellent. A meal comes with yellow rice and salad. Prices are very reasonable. Of course, there are plenty of other dishes to choose from. But we always love the pork dish.

The EL Sabor Dominicano Restaurant is located at 81 Guy Lombardo Ave near Sunrise Highway in the Village of Freeport, NY This Dominican restaurant offers an extensive menu of the islands most popular dishes from Crispy Chicharron, Red Snapper, Roasted Chicken, Pernil Al Horno and a delicious Flan for dessert. It's Wednesday 12:20pm why aren't they open yet? The website says they should be open and no hours on the door. Waste of gas and I should have called smh.
