Smelt horribly. Brunch that was advertised everywhere was not available. Bloody Mary's were terrible. Sangria was straight up red wine with fruit in it. Mussels tasted of sea water. Service was goof but quality of drinks and food were not up to par for the price they were charging at all.

The location is great- perfect water views but the food is consistently inconsistent. I've had great paella one week but then it tastes totally different (in a bad way) the next. My husband and I roll the dice with ordering, hoping that the good chefs are in the back. Come on Thursdays for the 2-for-1 baked clams and the live band- they're both fantastic. But be prepared to spend $100 pp, no matter what.

Not bad, not great. Price doesn't reflect the quality. Outdoor seating is always a good vibe. That's about it.

I don't even know where to start. We wasted $200 on frozen or old seafood. Lobsters were overcooked and rubbery. Oysters were not shocked correctly, and you could build a castle with all the sand. Service was ok but 20% automatic gratuity left even more sour taste on our way out. Lastly, there were flies. We were swatting the entire meal. You couldn't pay me to go back there.

I visited with two friends for lunch. Our waiter was great. I ordered Shrimp Cocktail for my appetizer. The shrimp was over cooked, & the cocktail sauce was bland. On the other hand my Surf & Turf was delicious. The drinks were delicious. Only one complaint, but it was rectified quite quickly. We were seated, and an unnecessarily loud group of women were seated right behind us. We asked to be moved. Our waiter was able to move us swiftly. I will return.

I would give this place 0 stars if I could. The fact that this restaurant made me want to write a review should be a testimony not to come here.I went to River House Grille in a party of 2, opting for what we thought would be a fancier option on the nautical mile, but we were very disappointed. Starting off we had dirty tableware and a lipstick stained water glass which we had replaced. For food, we ordered oysters, pasta, the octopus, and two drinks. The oysters didn’t taste fresh and were tiny, the pasta was bland, and the portion of the octopus was a joke. We both also felt nauseous after drinking their cocktail and not in an intoxicated way, but in a “We feel sick,” kind of way.We decided to leave after that, but it seemed like their slow service wanted to keep us there even longer than we would have liked. The bill came with an absurd 20% gratuity already included (We never seen this happen when the party is under 4 people) for their terrible service on top of a 3.5% credit card charge. We decided to leave the nautical mile and head 10 mins east to Anchor Down in Merrick for much better food, service, drinks, and oysters.I’m never coming back to River House Grille and I hope that no one has to go through that unfortunate experience.

food was good but the waiter was a grumpy old man that was trying to constantly rush us. he looked like he just came from a nap and didnt want to be bothered won't be back her again and I hope he gets fired. I know this may seem excessive but he was rude!

We had made online reservations but when we arrived we were told that they didn't have them. They were able to accommodate us. We had expected brunch as that was part of there menu but were told that they could only do lunch. They were out of several choices from the lunch menu. They added an automatic tip of 20% and told us it would be an additional 3.5% if we paid by card. Food was ok. Nothing special. We are not going back.

My first visit to River House Grille was for lunch with friends. We were seated promptly. The waiter was polite, and well versed with the menu. Our orders were taken promptly. My appetizer choice was Shrimp cocktail. I was not happy with it. The shrimp were not cooked properly. The cocktail sauce was bland. On the other hand my Surf & Turf entree was delicious. My cocktail was delicious as well. Another plus. After initially being seated another group was seated near us. They were extremely loud. We asked to change our seats, as they were disturbing our visit. We were escorted to another table. Thankful for that accommodation. I will definitely return to River House Grille.

Food was just good . Fillet mignon was over cooked. They charge a credit card fee. 3.5%.

Took an elderly relative to this nice looking establishment for lunch on Sunday 9/4 after taking her to RC Mass. Unfortunately the looks of this place doesn't match the horrible service or the even worse food they served us. It seemed like we were bothering them especially the sneaky looking manager who barely glanced up from lounging on the first booth u see as u enter. I really can write a chapter about what went wrong at this ripoff place but suffice it to say, food was one of the worst reheated trash, day old bread stale, wine had some film on it. No how is everything and no refills on water offered. All for 200 bucks. SMH

Horrible wait staff!! Food eh. Too many other places to choose from for you to have an attitude!

I made a reservation here for my birthday outing with a friend. We reserved an outdoor space for two. Upon our arrival, on time, we were told there was no outdoor seating. The hostess was curt and went to get a manager without us even asking for one. The manager came over and told us that they do not honor outdoor reservations because “He is a business man” and can't turn away business. What was he supposed to tell people the table is reserved? Yes, that is exactly how reservations work. We were also told that he “told the app not to allow reservations”. He never even apologized for the mix up. We left.

Sat out on the dock watching the boats go by. The service was quick and friendly. The food was delicious and plentiful. The bartender Ana made me her special delicious Malibu, pineapple and Moscato! Yum!! Will be going back many times!

Very disappointed. Mussels as appetizer was undercooked. Sent it back. Was better when we got it again. But portion was smaller than original Ordered the salmon. Asked for it well done. It was not. Manager came to check on us and we showed him that the salmon was not WELL cooked We got our bill. He took off for the mussels. Thank you however we were hungry after spending over $100
