Being born and raised in Puglia I was intrigued by the resaturant with chef from conversano. Unfortunately the excitement ends there. My second time visiting food has gone way downhill since last visit. My wife and I were very disappointed with both our pasta dishes. I ordered a simple linguine with clams. My wife a spaghetti carbonara. To start the dishes came with same size pasta. Neither were spaghetti or linguine. They were very thin spaghetti almost like angel hair. My clam dish was full of huge over cooked garlic chunks. The garlic was clealy over cooked and gave the dish an overwhelming "burnt garlic" taste thats was not pleasant. My wifes carbonara had same spaghetti as mine except hers were wayyyy too al dente and rather hard. The first time ever ordering a carbonara that was RED . Not sure what would make this dish red in color but it was disappointing and not very good at all. Needless to say we wont be returning.

We really enjoyed this meal. For apps we had the mussels and sausage& broccoli rabe. The pesto in the mussels does not complement the dish. They would have been great without it. The sausage was perfect. As entrees we ordered the clam sauce and a lemon veal dish(Piccata?). My clam sauce was great, a little less salt would have made it perfect. My partner really enjoyed his veal. The doughnuts and gelato were excellent for dessert.

Made reservations for 8:30pm , we're seated right away. Ordered two drinks , they were both yummy and strong lmao no complaints here's. We ordered the calamari and fried shrimp appetizer that was delicious. Will definitely return, best Italian food I've had in years!

Just celebrated a birthday at this magnificent restaurant. Their Christmas decorations are stunning and elegant. The food, from the appetizer to the entree to dessert, was beautifully presented; but most importantly, everything was absolutely delicious. The service was professional and warm. We weren't rushed at all. I cannot wait to go back again!

First the good. The food was delicious the dessert even better. The gelato and Panna Cotta were amazing and that's coming off of a 5 week trip to Italy. We were a group of 10 and they give you a 2 hour dining window which for a party of 10 is tight. But the bad part is as they're bringing us our dessert about 5 minutes into it we were told our time is basically up. The approach was beyond rude and the hostess or GM or whoever she was was so inattentive even the minute we walked in the door early. Point is go for the food, it's worth it but the owners need to look into the lady who check's you in then kicks you out to perhaps give her a little training in the food hospitality industry. Hence the 4 star but our waitress Francesca was amazing!

Excellent meal and service. They were very accommodating for my vegetarian diet. The chef came around to make sure everyone was satisfied. Will definitely be back!

Came here Saturday night for my birthday and my mother in laws birthday. This was my first time even though I've been living in the neighborhood a half of a decade. Starters I went for a pasta with the bucatini all'amatricana. I enjoyed it very much bucatini was perfectly Al dente. My wife had the zucchini flower special which she loved. Main I had the veal limone with extra artichokes because how can they turn down a birthday boys request lol. It was phenomenal. Veal was thin and tender and very tasty. My wife had veal saltimbocca which she loved as well. The side potatoes wwe just like they were in Italy. The desserts too were amazing the banana cream tart was spectacular. I'm still thinking about it days later. Love this place and will definitely be back! Also the waiter we had was phenomenal. I wish I remembered his name but it escapes me. Whoever it was who worked the upstairs tables on 11/4 thank you so much you were great!

La Nonna Bella is top notch. It is the number one Italian restaurant in garden city. You need to come here! The sauces are delicious! We ordered the spaghetti with tuna, the lobster and linguini special and the special appetizer, which was shrimp stuffed with crab meat. Miguel is the best server and so memorable! Lino- the chef is outstanding! He came to our table and was so genuine and nice! The food is classic Bari cuisine. Lino and the whole staff do an amazing job. Food is really the best.

We hadn’t even sat down and the waitress was already saying when we had to leave. Apparently they had reservations in 2-hours for people way more important than my wife and I. The restaurant was completely empty on a Friday at 6pm.The service didn’t get any better, and the food was not very good, bland is the best way to describe it. If you’re going to charge these prices, please make sure you at least use salt when you cook.My wife’s penne had a burnt taste and my rigatoni needed at least 2 more minutes in the water to be considered al dente. Luckily the complimentary bread was very good, and the house Cabernet was decent. The waitress didn’t even ask if we wanted dessert or coffee, we did, and went somewhere else for that. Not a single staff member asked how the food was, and I was very ready to answer that question. My wife couldn’t resist mentioning to the waitress on the way out that “we finished our dinner with time to spare,” an embarrassed giggle is the best she could offer in return.

We randomly chose to try this restaurant and I loved it. The food and atmosphere were excellent. We had the chicken parm and the rigatoni and some chocolate desert, all of which were really excellent. It had a very authentic Italian atmosphere. My only negatives were that I found it a bit pricey. Also when I sat down we were offered a choice of flat or sparkling water. Perhaps I should have known, but I chose the flat and was surprised there was a $10 charge per bottle. Not that that's expensive these days, but I felt we should have been told that at the start and not surprised by it on the bill. I do plan to go back though. Maybe for special occasions. Great food-

Food and service were excellent. Atmosphere was a bit noisy for me, but was likely my tinnitus :) Recommending the Cesar Salad (w/anchovies +$6) and gnocchi with oil and garlic, which will not break the bank.
