While the food and drinks were ok, the service was impressively sub-par. We’d ordered drinks that failed to show up for about 20 minutes, at which point one of us finally went to check on them. Wait staff, meanwhile, were all clustered by the bar chatting. The worst of it, the person setting the tables was wiping the silverware on his disgusting shirt before placing them out. Maybe they were wet? Maybe they had water stains? But the last thing I want is for something that will touch my food to be touching somebody’s gross polo shirt that they might wash every few shifts.

Food was good. atmosphere is fun also. But the service is so bad. Our waitress was terrible. My food came out wrong and they basically ignored me.Asked are you sure ? It was actually funny. They did take 2 dollars off the bill at the endBut the service is terrible.

If I could rate this restaurant a "0" stars, I would! Food is lousy! Service is awful! Attitude of staff is horrible! Stay away from this restaurant and spend your money at a place that values their customers and tries to provide an excellent dining experience. So many better places on Seventh Street in Garden City. First was given an uncomfortable table to sit at because it was the only table for two available. Two nice tables opened up very quickly before my guest arrived and I asked if we could move over to one of them as our table was very uncomfortable. The nasty hostess said it was a big deal for her to change our table and promply seated people who arrived after me at the two other tables and was very nasty and rude to me. She is a blond middle aged lady with a terrible attitude. Our waitress Jayne acted annoyed from the start and did nothing to make us feel welcome or that she wanted to please us in any way. We asked for refills on drinks 3 times before we received them at the same time as our check. No customer service skills at all. Lastly, my Caeser salad was made up of only the floppy part of the Romaine lettuce and none of the crispy pieces at all. The salad was flat and limp with dried out pieces of grilled chicken. This place is just a train wreck!

I was impressed with this restaurant. My friends and I were greeted warmly and seated right away. I ordered the quinoa burger with sweet potato fries. The burger was quite good and the fries were stellar. My friend ordered the BLTA salad and she said it was okay. The atmosphere was like a friendly neighborhood bar and restaurant where everyone knows your name. Overall, I'd definitely come back here if I was in the area to eat and enjoy a beer.

The first time coming here was yesterday. At first, I was torn of ordering for the main course either the New England lobster roll or the sirloin steak sandwich because I read the New England lobster roll description on the online menu in advance that it contains mayo which I don't like. I was unsure if I could get one with just garlic or butter and celery so I made up my mind to order the steak sandwich because it was composed of cheese and fried onions which I like. I enjoyed my meal with a table of three; my brother and an acquaintance I get along with who I haven't seen in almost 2 years. I think what our server could have done better was check up on us more to make sure we had the right entrees. I ordered the sirloin steak sandwich with fries and my brother ordered a steak. The server made the minor mistake of giving me my brothers dinner and my brother my entree where he and I had to switch platters. It wasn't too crowded when we were dining. I would have to come here again not only to give the servers a second chance to be more accommodating and come around every 10 minutes, but there was a football game on at the bar area and it was somewhat loud. Unfortunately, in a scenario like that is beyond the staff's control when something exciting or disappointing happens when a sport is played with fans booing or cheering loudly. It was just very awkward to dine in peace with the noise of the fans a few times.

After a nearby drs appt, we Sat outside for lunch. I was craving a melty steak/roast beef sandwich and we were happy to land here. The host was very sweet and checked in on us often. The sandwich was delicious and the fries were like McDonald's! My husband loved his goulash as well. We haven't been here before but I would definitely come back for that roast beef sandwich!

Loved this Tavern! Excellent food, wide selection of beers and large menu. Played the football games Sunday and had a fun/nice crowd! Very clean and fast service. Would 100% recommend to sit at the bar to catch a game with great food, or an easy lunch/dinner date!

Leo's Midway is located right in the busy streets of Garden City. It is extra busy there during the summer, especially on Fridays. They offer outdoor seating and since every Friday is a block party, they even have tables extended onto the streets. The space indoors isn't huge and they have booths and tables to cater to different sized parties. Oddly enough, the wait for outdoor seating was longer than sitting indoors. I guess everyone wanted to enjoy the summer weather. My friends and I (party of 5) only had to wait about 25 min for indoor seating compared to the 2 hours for outdoors. Service felt pretty slow the entire time. Our waiter was nice but it did take a while for our food and drinks to come out. Portions were decently sized; definitely had some leftovers after. They did not skimp out on the fries for sure. They were nicely fried and salty enough. I got their Garden City Burger and it was decent. Felt like the patty didn't have much flavor, but all the rest of the toppings together gave it more flavor. Others got the Steak Sandwich, California chicken Sandwich, and French Onion Dip. The steak didn't have much flavor either; I feel like they don't marinate their meats enough. I didn't try the chicken sandwich or french onion dip, so I can't speak much on that. Overall, the food and drinks were kind of expensive for what they were.
