The significant point to note was the restaurant was far from busy. One guest had chicken piccata, the other flank steak, my wife the beef fillet and penne a la vodka for myself. The guests said their food was barely tepid. My wife's steak was cremated not medium; shoe leather is more tender. Whilst we are they took my wife's steak away to replace it. You'd think they'd not only ensure it was perfectly cooked but also turned it round pretty fast as the kitchen couldn't be busy. I lost track of time but the 3 of us finished our meals and we were all talking for quite some time before another burnt offering arrived. The center did have a little feint red color but basically it was still inedible so my wife gave up and went hungry until we got home. My pasta was over cooked, barely warm on the surface but scalding hot beneath but not as flavorsome as I normally find. Unless invited there by a very long term lawyer friend, who tends to use it frequently, or the word gets out the ‘chef' has changed, this has slid way down my preferred list.

I came to this restaurant for the first time and I enjoyed the decor as well as how spacious the restaurant was. The service was a little slow while waiting to order however, the employees were nice. They have a beautiful meu cover and the exterior looked stunning. They gave me complimentary bread and oil and I ordered penne pasta. The pasta could've been more flavorful however, I still enjoyed it and how it came with broccoli and shrimp.

On the other side of a curtain next to our table was an extremely loud party. My friends and I could not have a conversation without yelling across the table to one another. We could have been seated away from this group - I don't understand why we had to be right next to them. And having a light curtain was silly - was it supposed to be a noise blocker? Other than the noise the food was good. I just don't think I'd come back if I was hoping to have a meaningful conversation with someone. We were disappointed.

We had our wedding rehearsal dinner here 25 years ago. We returned to the area to visit our sonar college & were so excited to dine at Seventh Street Cafe with our son. It was exactly as we remembered, and the food did not disappoint! We'll be back again!

It was a slow Wednesday night in mid-February The restaurant was quiet and we had a table for two in the front window. Service was great as was our meal. We've been here before several times and will continue to return.

Not impressed at all. The brunch was nothing to write about. My avocado toast was on a small piece of bread.. kid's size ! Portion sizes were awful! The price we paid we expect more and will not be back.

We had brunch. The good=they had availability, a broad menu anda lot of wait staff. The bad= the kitchen was SO slow 40+mins for food, Banana French Toast without the powdered sugar had a bitter sauce, the omlettes were dry, and the toast was not warm enough to melt the frozen butter pats.

Let's say you're planning an intimate baby shower, retirement party, etc with people who enjoy plain, American food. This is the place for you. The Cafe is a large space and great for groups. Service is very attentive and they are dressed in the old-fashioned diner outfits. I love the color scheme and decorations. However, the food is very bland. So it is great for people who enjoy food prepared simply.

We went for brunch the Sunday after my birthday. I thought it was really good.I had the eggs benedict and I believe the hollandaise was homemade; it didn't break, always a plus, however it was a tad salty. The yolks broke exactly as I like (Chefs kiss). The hash browns were good, solid. My daughter got the fried egg sandwich. The yolks could have been harder, they were medium. The mimosas were great!I really liked the atmosphere but the service could have been a little swifter. All in all, a really nice place. I want to go back for dinner.

This cafe is lovely in the summer, outside under an umbrella -- IF you want a lunch salad. Otherwise, stay away. My husband and I went there twice recently for dinner. Both times were quite awful. The dinner salad we ordered was swimming in dressing. For dinner, I ordered veal piccata, usually a delicate meal. Here, the dinner plate looked like someone simply dumped the food onto it. The portion was plentiful, but instead of a delicate sauce of wine and lemon juice, it was smothered in a thick, heavy gravy. The artichoke pieces on top were tough, and rather than serving hearts alone on top of the meat, as expected, they served them with some of the husks attached, so I needed a steak knife to cut through and eat the hearts alone. I love spinach and ordered it at additional cost. What came had zero taste. My husband's dish was equally bad; his meat was swimming in heavy gravy, although instead of spinach, he had soggy, overdone green beans. When the busboy asked if we enjoyed the meal, I said, "No, it was terrible. We won't be coming back again." (He thought I was joking until I added, "Really" and failed to smile. Then the waiter came over and asked the same question and got the same answer. He then went back to the owner and came back with the check, pointing out that they had removed the charge for the glass of wine. Bad food, bad management, bad handling of a complaint. Going back ever again? Nope. Eat there at your own risk.
