Love this restaurant! It's definitely not cheap, but totally worth it, in taste and quality. Have been here a number of times, not disappointed. Drinks are different and menu inspired! Free parking lot in back. Must have reservations especially weekends. Squid ink pasta is amazing

I recently celebrated my wedding ceremony and luncheon at Sparrow .Everything was perfect from the planning to the actual event .Jenna was the sweet young woman who patiently handled all my " back and forths"Thanks for all.
Went for a dinner with friends, service was truly terrible, waited 1hour+ for food after ordering, with no updates from the server at all who seemed to be avoiding our table. We didn’t complain and just took it for what it was - busy friday night. However by the next day 4 people out of our party of 5 were violently ill. I’m not sure what quality control they are adhering to or completely dismissing but in my entire life i have never been this sick from food before. The GM and hostess were very responsive and apologetic when we called to complain, and even offered a refund, however apart from the money- i am writing this review because the way that the food made us sick is truly unsafe and needs to be addressed.

This restaurant was exactly what I was expected from a Garden City restaurant: very average food, but overpriced. Even the cocktails were off. I can make better drinks and food at home. Why would anyone pay these prices for food that is just average: under-seasoned, pasty rice, No bread! So disappointing. My cocktail (martini) wasn't even cold.

We had such a nice time tonight at Sparrow ! The food was delicious ! We had ceviche, the halibut, the veal it was all so so good ! The raspberry cosmo was delicious ! Our reservation was early at 5:15 , we were seated right away and our server was so nice. 100% will be going again. Beautiful restaurant. We wish you lots of luck and will be back.

I've been a repeat customer three times- maybe four? I don't think I am returning anytime soon. The first time I went around when they initially opened the food and service was great. Really innovative dishes and flavors, though expensive. The bread that came with the hummus was wonderful, and the hummus was delicious too along with the other dishes I ordered.The second time the service went down a notch, and the quality of the food did too- I went for a fish dish over the eggplant, which I felt had less flavor and left me still hungry. I gave it a shot again because I liked it so much the first time, but this time the staff was less than accommodating. I had a rather early reservation around 5:15, and asked to be seated at a different two top than what they had directed me to-- one not in the center of the restaurant but along the wall. They said no, that they had reservations already secured for every other (empty) table. When I had asked our waitress for what I thought was a simple modification to a dish, I felt the waitress had an attitude of annoyance when she told me they don't usually make modifications and she'd have to check with the kitchen. Bottom line for me is that the restaurant went down hill fast-- place seems less than accommodating these days and food isn't as good as it was when it first opened. It's expensive for what is, and with a less than accommodating vibe I am not rushing to return anytime soon.

Restaurant lovely. Service slow. Was told they only had enough Johnny Walker Black for two of us on a Saturday night. Food mediocre. The honey ricotta pizzette was salty! The ceviche was inedible. It was drowned in green lime liquid. The lime was overpowering. The appetizers and drinks took a long time. Appetizer plates were not removed and servers could not drop off dinner plates. I asked for no cheese on the pasta. There was. The pasta dish came out twice with splatter on sides of the bowl. Not wiped down like a properly plated dish should. The olive oil cake was nice. The doughnuts were dry over cooked and we could not eat them. Terrible. It was a slow night and yet there was an overflowing garbage can in the female bathroom and toilet paper around the toilet in the stall. Will not be back. It was a birthday so we decided to try a new restaurant. Overpriced for quality of food and service.
