This place is fabulous. The ambiance, food and service was great. Our waitress Phoebe was attentive, caring, friendly and polite. Will definitely be back there. A great experience!

I really wanted to love this place, but it's lacking a passion for their craft. I've been here 5 times, each time hoping it would be better than the last. Service is not customer oriented, the food is inconsistent in flavor and portion. This last visit was the last straw for me.. We were not informed that the drinks we were ordering were not part of the promotion that they were strongly advertising. When we asked the bartender why we were charged full price she said she didn't know that our drinks weren't included in the promotion until our bill came which was somehow the same time her manager told her?? She said she doesn't usually work Thursday nights so she didn't know what the rules are. If SHE didn't know, then why were WE paying for it? At the very least they should have apologized for the misunderstanding and taken responsibility for the extra $15. The place is beautiful but that's all you're getting. Like I said, they are not customer oriented, otherwise they would put much more thought into the customer experience. In this business you need to be consistent in your food, and keep your customer informed and feeling valued. I'll stick to Besito.. they know what's up..

We've been here several times. I wanted to believe that Glen Cove would have upscale Mexican cuisine and service; not so..Every experience has been pretty much sub par and I wish it wasn't. Today I gave them one last chance on ladies night where ladies drinks were supposed to be half price. Long story short they screwed us, and charged us full price for 5 drinks because we asked for mezcal instead of tequila. Nobody said anything about modifications. When given the bill I asked why we were charged full price for my wife's drinks, and I was told "oh, that's only for what's on the drink menu." So first off, the mezcal they used is basically the same price as the tequila they would have used; Second of all, it's in good faith to inform us that modifications to the drink menu wouldn't qualify for the discount. I got a bill for the full amount, no acknowledgement, no discount, no explanation. I'm done with them, bye ?

Thier food that makes you crave coming back for more. From the incredible birria tacos to burritos and guacamole; everything is fresh and delicious. Beautiful restaurant, perfect for a business meeting during the workday and family in the evening. Looking forward to dining in their new outdoor seating areas as the weather gets warmer.

Just visited this restaurant last Saturday night. Made a reservation same day, for 2 people. In a word, this place is EXCELLENT. It's located in the heart of downtown Glen Cove. Parking was easy to find, either street parking or a short walk from the parking garage. The decor was beautiful. The lighting was bright but not over the top, the tables were situated so you felt like you weren't on top of another table, and they had booths as well as an extensive bar area. It was very spacious inside, but not noisy even though it was crowded. Outside the restaurant was all set up to eat outdoors when the weather gets nicer. We asked our waitress for recommendations and were not disappointed. We started with the chicken tinga empanadas. Delicious! There were 2 on a plate; perfect because they were just the right size for an appetizer to share with one other person. I ordered the carnitas tacos and asked for 4, but 2 would have been sufficient. I took 2 home because I couldn't eat anymore. It also came with black beans and orange rice on the side. I also subbed the flour tortilla instead of corn. My dining companion asked what was recommended on the menu and the waitress said the Birria tacos were very popular. I tried one and it was very good. The corn tortilla was fried, so it was crispy and delicious. For dessert, we shared the churros with goat milk caramel (it came on the side). Fantastic. The margaritas were out of this world too. I believe I will now be a frequent diner at this establishment. I hope they do well because a good Mexican authentic restaurant is hard to find! Good luck to them! This place is a hidden gem!

We had an absolutely delightful dining experience at Tocolo! This was our first visit to their new location in Glen Cove, and we were thoroughly impressed. The ambiance of the space is simply stunning, and the food exceeded our expectations in every way. Tocolo has definitely earned a permanent spot in our dining rotation!

Great time at Tocolo. Queso fundido is a must to try. And the tacos are delicious and generous in portion. Save space for dessert. We shared a delicious flan and took Churros con Cajeta to go and enjoy the next morning with coffee. Perfect! Also, service is friendly and very attentive. The staff is very friendly and take good care of everything. Happy to have this place in our neighborhood. We will be back!

Service was horrible. We were shown to our table in an empty place of the restaurant. Our waitress took my drink order and never returned. We left disappointed. Now it is my turn. I have no intention on returning to the restaurant. (For those who read my same comment regardless the Garden City restaurant, I apologize. I wrote a similar comment criticising them. I was not in their restaurant but rather at the Glen Cove location).

I just bought a vegetarian burrito bowl and am pleasantly surprised. Lots of flavor and nice vegetables. The people in the store are nice. I hope to be a regular in this place.

Had dinner here for the second time. My steak burrito was ok. Not sure it was actually flank steak as the menu suggested. Service was good and the decor is nice. This is where my experience takes a turnAfter going to bed I woke up in the middle of the night in extreme discomfort. It was clear I was suffering from an bad case of food poisoning. I won't get into the details, but it was a rough night. I'd recommend they do a thorough cleaning of their kitchen, and work out a plan that prevents cross contamination of foods. Safe to say I'll be going to Jalisco up the block from now on. At least their steak is always on point, and I've had no issues after eating there...

Food was awful. Actually the wings were good. Empanadas no flavor. Beef tacos greasy as hell. Avocado taco no flavor.

Great food and drinks with a fantastic value! My wife and I love to dine here - she normally orders the fish tacos and I love the burrito (really delicious and very satisfying) Tonight we shared the paella and it was a wonderful sharing dish it is packed with different fish and a plentiful portion of chicken and chorizo. The drinks have a lot of variety and all are very balanced. Definitely a new spot to add to your list!

BEST ADDITION TO GLEN COVE! We went to tocolo with a large group and had the most fantastic evening. The food and the drinks were great and the servers and management could not have been nicer! The bartender Sebastian is such a wonderful host if you choose to sit at the bar. Highly recommend to anyone looking for great food/ drinks and a fun atmosphere- cannot wait to go back!
