No acknowledgment at entry, rude person for seating just through the menus down in a booth with ripped seat cushion. Didn’t order as it was 10 minutes again without anyone checking in.

Waitress carried drinks in the crook of her arm touching her inner arm. Watched her deliver a drink to another table with dollar bills setting on top of it. Shorted us a fork so we had to ask for that and plates. When she brought the plates one was turned towards her and touching her breast. Her shirt had holes in it, wouldn't have known she was a waitress. Food came, my daughter got 10 fries (yes we counted) and a well done grizzly steak when she asked for med well. Couldn't eat half of it due to grizzle. She got broccoli when she asked for mashed potatoes. My steak was supposed to be well done was medium rare. When she brought my husband's, she set it 4 tables down next to other patrons and went back for my daughter's potatoes. Had to beg for A1. She delivered checks to a bunch of tables. Left ours on a table nearby. After waiting 20 minutes, we grabbed that check, saw it was indeed our food and went to the manager to pay. My husband told him the long wait and he never even apologized. So we never told him about the unsanitary and unsafe methods of the waitress as we could see he could care less. Instead decided we would warn others and hope the health department would intervene as well. Will never be back.

I mean the 10 fries they gave me were good I guess…They didn’t schedule enough staff to handle a Sunday afternoon rush. Our waitress was playing hostess and waiting on 6+ tables. The steak was tough and mostly grizzle. The plates and silverware we were given were still wet and/or dirty.

Best Applebee's in the entire Hudson Valley. Kingston and Poughkeepsie are horrible at every corner. Service, portions, hygiene, bathrooms were phenomenal here. Kingston and PK

So three weeks ago I was hired at this location as a Hostess finding out that there was only one other hostess besides me at this specific Applebee's. After two weeks of working there I came into work on my scheduled shift and the manager set me aside and said "This will be your last day working here but I am willing and would be more than happy to transfer you to another location". Reason being "there were too many employees at this restaurant" which doesn't make sense because I was TWO out of the amount of how many hostesses that worked there and if there were in fact "too many employees" then WHY would they hire me to begin with!? It just didn't make sense.

Second review because my first review was less than great and because of the review the restaurant reached out to me and tried to make it right. Invited me back and I had lunch. The food was great. The service was great and as I wrote my first post I knew it couldn't be typical of them. It was just a bad day because this visit was so much better. I appreciate the head office as well as the local manager reaching out!

Applebee's Glenmont had some deals going on for entrees recently and I had to check them out again and delve into their flavors!Flavors were well worth it. Apart (hint-hint) from the kitchen grill not being properly cleaned (I was most likely the first evening order in the late afternoon) and leaving grill-grizzle on the steak, the overall quality of the food was quite good.It is the chef's or usually chef's assistant's (sous chef's) duty to scour down the grill. If the grill isn't clean it can mar the dining experience for customers. The steaks and burgers were all cooked to their heat and orderly. The service was polite + quick albeit a bit frenetic. The flavors were the tried and true Applebee's ones: fluffy mash and crisp fries. The drinks were cold and iced.I clearly remember the steak sizes being a bit larger 3 years ago pre-Covid.. As a chef you notice it. And also that 3/4 of my burger was a stack of thick onions but not much sauce or anything else. I do have to take it into account.So. 1) Add a little extra sauce to the burger 2) Personally, I'd prefer a sour pickle on the side instead of 6 layers of onions 3) I get that take out needs to fit the box - but let's be real: my steak was TINY. Especially for take-out: 'Don't you want portions in the to-go bags to be a *bit* (I did drive all the way here and I am not occupying a table) more substantial and show Applebee's BEST side possible??' So as to-go folks will return and boost your margin and leave great tips?Think about it.Review: 4

Not good today. Got grilled chicken. I swear it was either recycled or just super old. Super dry, even had that "crust" on the outside that the knife couldnt cut. Waitress was slow. Food was slow. Dumbfounded that I watched 2 guts walk from Walmart into the back then our food was another 15 minutes. Tjey eventually emerged out of the back into the rsstaurant to join the circle of girls talking.Waitress never asked how our food was or I wouldve said. The manager was non existent which I always see at others. Very inefficient, answered our questions why the parking lot was empty. Too bad. Great location but there are too many options in the immediate area to bother with this restaurant. The location couldnt be better.
