Was served rancid fish , tuna was chopped up grey and tasted extremely fishy. When I raised the issue to the waiter he said it was fine and that I was complaining about nothing, even when I pointed out someone else’s tuna roll at my table which was a normal pink/purple hue. He assured me my fish was fine and that it was simply just from a different part of the fish. Just that one piece I ate was enough to make me feel sick. Disgusting service and terrible food quality this place should be avoided.

Wish I could give 0 stars, was served rancid grey tuna. When I raised the issue to the waiter he assured me it was fine and that it was just from a different part of the fish which was why it wasn't the same pink as the tuna someone else on my table received. I had one piece and instantly knew it was spoiled. i again tried raising the issue to the waiter to which I was told I was wrong and that it was fine. Disgusting food quality and service never going back.

Chez Kama is a Japanese restaurant located in the heart of Great Neck. It is family owned (and run) as husband is the chef, while wife is both the host and server. The food has always been good quality and very well presented. Service is attentive. However, the portion size served is minute, especially considering high end pricing. There are better options.

Not just a sushi place. They will make you a ‘steak, salmon, or rack of lamb that is exquisite. Their salads and Japanese items are really very good. The atmosphere can be questionable. The locals who attend seem to be trying hard to impress eachother.

5 Stars. Their sushi was some of the freshest sushi I’ve ever had. Also their salmon was grilled nicely, and they had great Green Tea ice cream. Our waiter was very nice and polite. Overall, a great gem in Great Neck.

I always try and patronize our local restaurants and businesses but sometimes it's just a huge disappointment. The servers were friendly, the food was mediocre at best and took well over an hour to be brought out and not worth the wait. $$ not terrible, maybe it was just a bad night but I wouldn't go back .

You would never know by the low-key outside appearance of this place what wonderful delights await you inside. It's a small informal place, no fancy decor... all of the attention here is on the food, and it shows. Super high quality sushi and really creative and delicious cooked dishes. Beef negimaki was out of this world! The desserts were spectacular, also - pecan tart and chocolate tart, both topped with the creamiest ice cream... just amazing. The waitress was delightful, friendly and attentive. Great experience all around. Make a reservation, it's small and it gets busy!

Great restaurant and great staff—especially Mrs.Kama! I suggest the filet mignon cooked medium rare or the tuna steak, which are absolutely delicious. The dessert here is pretty good too.
