An authentic French bakery in the heart of Long Island. Being French I go there often for the quality of the products. They make excellent croissanterie products as well as their cakes. There is now a sitting area where you can have your croissants with hot beverages sold there. The only downside is that the quality of the staff is very inconsistent. Sometimes they’re super nice and at other times not helpful. The ill-mouthed will say it’s because the place is French ? - prices on the other hand are quite on the upside so don’t forget your wallet, or there will be no croissant for you ?

The salmon avocado croissant sandwich lacked flavor. I like the buy 3 get 1 free pastry concept but the establishment need to do a better job getting rid of the live flies on display.

In the heart of Great Neck NY is Blachere Sandwiches across the street from the Firehouse. (see pix) Narrow streets and a U turn if heading North as the street after has a Dunkins. The cost is not to expensive and there were young people there getting snacks or sandwiches. Its not a gourmet place. It does have tables to eat at. The Baguette I got had chicken and cheese. (see pix) not much at that. Here's the thing-server Rose asked if I wanted it heated on the Panini Press. I said yes heat it on the Panini Press. I also ordered a croissant with egg and a brioche muffin. At the back of the store is the register to pay. She put 2 items in the bag and asked if there was anything else. I said yes the third item. Where is the other sandwich? Hey a good come back um- oh it has to be heated. She grabs a wrapped one and throws it in the microwave briefly and then into the bag. So much for the Panini Press, (see pix) The muffin was of yellow brioche with salt and chocolate chips on top. It also had a bit of an after taste once eaten. Décor had a touch of Fall with a mini pumpkin on the Coffee machine. There is a sign- Line starts here, near the counter, and out side the side door by the parking lot a sigh that says Breakfast Special $4.95,I saw a rather large container on the floor and asked what it was. Once the translation was clear from the other worker Rose said it was a humidifier. I asked it it added or was a dehumidifier. Apparently it get very humid in there. When I got home and took food out of bag , the bags were all oily. (see pix) Can't make this stuff up. Um, not a place I will be rushing back to.

I purchased a cake for this weekend’s holiday. The person at the counter wasasked if there was the usual custard in it and he had no idea what I was talking about. He reassured me it was not cheese. This cake was purchased for holidays, it was 5.00 less and always had that filling. There was no custard on the inside. It was an absolutely awful cake. I was so disappointed it was wasted. Do they not think the service provider should be knowledgeable about the cakes. So very disappointed. The unprofessional manner the representative displayed is so uncaring at Marie Blanchere.

The place was huge! Lots of bakery food, great customer service. Great location and plenty of parking. The sandwich’s we got were delicious and the coffee was great! If you want to stop by for some bread, check this spot out!

We bought a baguette, almond croissant, chocolate croissant, a tranche of apple & peach puff, savory croissant with smoked salmon. The almond croissant has generous amount of filling. It could use a bit more almond flour. I think they used almond extract, a bit of almond flour & some starch to thicken the base along with some butter. It's better than the French Workshop. The croissant is flaky.Had the baguette the next morning. Toasted it & put apricot marmalade on it. Crust is still crusty & center is still soft & moist, although it's not as flaky as I remembered from Paris. The center is still too dense but still retains the character of a good baguette.
