I took my office staff for afternoon tea. This was my third time there for this even. It is a beautiful setting and they do a wonderful job with the place settings and food setup. They were even kind enough to put a dish together for a vegetarian. We had a no show which we had to pay for because it was already set up…no problem I get that. What turned me off was that one person asked what the decaf options were. The person taking our order was very abrupt and stated I just went over it. Ok well you went over it on the other side of the table and the person who didn’t hear it has a hearing issue. Kindness and compassion go a long way. If you don’t want to answer simple questions, perhaps have someone else come out to take orders. Didn’t leave with a good feeling.

Great prices, service, and atmosphere. The construction project makes parking terrible. Distance between parking lot and building makes it impossible for elderly and physically impaired.

Very sweet place should have soft music playing in the background where customers are sitting.

The manager was very unaccommodating . The tea was cold the bread was stale ..the sandwiches were sub par … not freshly made…..definitely not worth the cost….there was also a $25 gratuity charge for the waitress to bring one tray…….very disappointing…no wonder the place was empty …….

A nice spot for tea and/or a meal in the Manor House at the Bayard Cutting Arboretum. Seating available indoors and out. Friendly service and relaxed atmosphere. Some standard and reasonably-priced food options, great assortment of tea and baked goods; slices of crumb and Kahlua cakes were both delicious!Parking: Plenty of seasonal free/paid parking a short walk from the Cafe at the Manor House.

We just saw two couples come and leave because it was closed. Will change the rating in March.

Such a cute tearoom! The food is simple but tastes great. The tea service is fantastic! The tea selection is pretty good as it has a lot of variety.

A very unpleasant experience. We arrived at the cafe at 2:40pm and we waited a couple of minutes for someone to come and seat us. A young lady greeted us and said, “I’m sorry, we’re closing.” So, I asked her if it were possible to get a cup of coffee since it was too late to order off the menu, and she responded, and I quote “sure, but I prefer you get it to go.” So, I thought, that would be fine since they would be closing in 15 minutes or so. However, while we were waiting for the coffee, a party of three were seated and were handed menus. Shortly, after that, a party of two arrived, were seated, and also handed menus. Did she not want to serve us because of the way we were dressed? Let’s face it, we were walking outside around the arboretum, so I wasn’t wearing heels and a dress. Mind you, there weren’t any signs about a dress code. Or, did she simply not want to be bothered so late in the afternoon? Either way, customers should not be treated or dismissed in this manner.Sincerely,Dr. D. Diamond

My experience today Saturday October 7, 2023 was sub optimal. Initially myself and 4 family members were seated at a large beautiful table. After sitting for 5 minutes we were told we had to move. We were seated after 5 minutes of standing at a small table which was not in the main room. Food was ok but, overpriced. The waitress was sweet. Also, the gratuity was included in the bill. Would not book another family event at this place!!

So overall I would say definitely go here for a high tea. That said, there are improvements too be made. U have to make reservations in advance, which we did. But when u get there and there's a line for the cafe, there's no sign or information for what to do if u have tea reservations. The super nice lady at the desk helped us bec we were confused. The servers are extremely busy and not attentive, they must be under staffed. There is one server for all the tea guests I think, and she was running around and spent 7 seconds or less at our table during every interaction. The tea is delicious. We all preferred different varieties, and basically they're all good. The environment is beautiful, and the sun is amazing. I believe there's no air conditioning, but we were lucky bec it wasn't hot that day. The food at the tea is good, I think the scones are perfect and the sweets are good. The sandwiches were just straight up not enough; there should be twice as many sandwich/savory at the tea. There were 4 of us, and I could tell ppl were holding back, and/or eating lemon bars just to fill up bec there wasn't enough food. It is leisurely and nice and a good experience. The egg sandwich is so good w the sprouts.

Can't say anything about the food as we were not served. All we wanted was a cup of coffee but we were denied entry because my wife happened to be carrying an empty paper plate with no food 2 hours before closing. A young man told us we couldn't enter the cafeIt's a real shame that such a beautiful place left an ugly impressionWe felt discriminated against due to our appearance

I suggest making reservations more than 24 hours in advance for the tea. I made the mistake of trying exactly a day before, so next time, I will call way in advance. But we were able to enjoy the cafe and the natural surroundings even without reservations. There was no wait since we came after lunchtime. They have different food options, which was great. The menu isn't vast, but it's a cafe, not a full-blown restaurant. The hours that they are opened isn't that long. I believe the cafe closes at 4 pm. Regarding the food, I ordered a sandwich with chips. It wasn't mind-blowing, but the portion size was good. The dessert was good.
