Will not be dining since they want to tack on a customer appreciation fee regardless of what you order. Yikes

Beware, ownership is adding a 4% kitchen staff appreciated fee to the check. Ownership is too cheap to pay a living wage.

Owner is an ungrateful rude and pompous person. We were told that we had a time limit on our table of one and a half hours when there were many open tables, completely soured the experience. When we were leaving I was waiting for my niece in the washroom and knowing we just had an argument about the time limit, the owner said “can I help you” , meaning “why haven't you left yet?” Told him my niece was in the bathroom and he continues to argue with me about our experience. Reading about the recent fees for BOH kitchen staff, I would never pay this guy anything extra, guarantee he isn't paying his staff with this money. Public House isn't worth the effort. Will never return. Don't patronize this place, the owner doesn't care about your experience.

Stopped in for dinner on a Thursday. We were the only ones in the dinning room and service was a little slow. She was very nice just slow. We had a couple beers , fish fry and chicken fingers. Everything was hot and delicious. The bar was busy. They do charge a fee for kitchen staff just an fyi. The windows were dirty so couldn't really see the sunset/ lake unless you walked up to the windows to look out or go outside.

Place was very busy when we got there so it took around 20 minutes to even see a waitress, however after we started to get served, our glasses stayed full and the waitress was very attentive. The food was amazing as always, would highly recommend.

Our 1st time going to this restaurant. We really enjoyed it. The scenic view of the lake was very nice, definitely would be prettier in the warm weather outside on the deck. We shared the Cheese grits with shrimp and the beef on weck egg rolls. The Shrimp and grits were delicious but you gotta try those egg rolls if you want something different and delicious!? We'll be back when it's warner weather.

Had a wonderful Baby Shower at Public House on the Lake this past weekend. We had 60 people that were seated in the room right on the lake. The atmosphere was beautiful with a perfect view of the lake. Plenty of room to move around and close proximity to coat room and restrooms. The food was delicious and plentiful. The staff was tentative and pleasant. I would highly recommend Public House on the Lake in Hamburg for your next event.

My hubs and I were driving through and stopped here on a rainy afternoon. It's quite a big space with a huge view of the lake from inside and out. The staff was very friendly. We started with some wine/beer. I got the lobster bisque and drunken clams. My hubs got wings and the prime rib sammie. Everything was solid good, and it was a relaxing and delicious lunch for sure. Definitely seemed like locals hang out which kind of adds another level of comfort.

Een drinking jack daniels my whole life.. Ordered a jack and tea. It wasn't jack. The bartender then poured me a shot out of the jack bottle. It was cheap whiskey. So they pour cheap whiskey in a jack Daniel's bottle and charge full price. Food was barely at par

Rustic atmosphere with a nice view. I had an amazing lobster roll and some of the best fries I’ve had in a while. I’d easily go back.

The owner ( man) is very rude!! I ordered a drink from the bar and he got very nasty. We had a a party of 15. Half the people sent their food back. The food was terrible! The mixed drinks we ordered we terrible! The bartenders do NOT know how to make balanced drinks. A few of us order the mermaid drinks. If you got the coconut in it that’s all you taste. I didn’t get the coconut in it. It was basically blue pineapple juice!! You couldn’t taste the spiced rum at all. I would NOT recommend this place to anyone! I can’t believe it was as busy as it was! I will NOT be coming back! It’s very overpriced for the quality of the food. The only thing that was good is the French onion soup.

Where do I start? My wife and I were staying at an Airbnb that was in walking distance from this place. We decided to go here for dinner because our host said, "The food is wonderful." We sat outside on the patio that overlooks the lake. Nice view. Our server came over after being seated for 10 min and asked us if we would like some drinks. Um yeah! I ordered the drink special which was a Manhattan. Was it worth $14? No. The menu said that it came with bourbon soaked cherries and what I got were Maraschino cherries. I couldn't get the bad taste from my drink out of my mouth because we weren't even offered water. We placed our dinner order and my wife got the Wahoo fish dinner. $28 for a very over cooked piece of fish. She told the sever that it was over cooked and bad and she said "ok, I will be right back." 10 minutes later, a gentleman came over who I'm assuming was the manager. I'm wasn't sure at this point because he never introduced himself. He said, "What seems to be the problem?" My wife explained it to him and he took the dish and said he would take it off the bill. In place of it she ordered the lobster roll. I didn't try it but she said it was ok. I did however try the macaroni salad that came with it and it was not good. I ordered the Weck burger medium rare and I came out medium. The server said that the kitchen can never cook it to the right temperature. What?! I don't know how she knew that because she said that it was only her 4th day of working there. The burger came on the wrong bun. If you don't know what kind of bun to use, LOOK IT UP!! Needless to say, you will not get what you pay for here. Just avoid this place unless you are just looking to have draft beers and look at the lake.
