Delicious! Sushi was fresh. And so nice to find a Japanese restaurant with Japanese workers. Loved the food and service.

Everything about this experience was top notch: food, service, and atmosphere. Everything about the place really lets the food shine, though. We had the sushi plates where the chef chooses. Every bite was better than the last. If I had one note, it would be to please tell me what everything is when setting the plate down! I thought I knew, but quickly realized that I wasn't familiar with everything. I'll have to go back soon so I can try it all again and ask.

This place offers very authentic sushi, arguably the best in Westchester. I'm puzzled why it's never listed in Westchester Magazine. The only downside is its lack of fanciness, and the restroom should be avoided.

Went here for the first time time tonight. We started with the chicken katsu appetizer, which was hot and crispy, and the katsu sauce was great. This was followed by the chirashi bowl of mixed sashimi and salmon roe over rice. We also had some yellowtail and fresh salmon sushi, and spicy tuna rolls. Everything was incredibly fresh and tasty, with no hint of "fishiness". We finished with the broiled eel, which was a first, and it was fantastic. If you want fresh sushi, prepared in front of you, this is the place to go.

Super high quality food. One of the most authentic old school sushi spots around. Love this place.

Too expensive for what it is. 18$ for a single hand-roll is outright absurd especially when its 80percent rice. The quality is mediocre at best the service not so great and for what you get totally not worth it. also don't like it when they pretend to know you upon entering. Sounds a little bit sarcastic and they create this feeling for the other guests like we go there every other night. Hello welcome is all you need don't pretend like we go way back. Sure some people may be ok with that but no thank you. Better options like Oko in rye for the quality and the hand rolls. Only downside no sushi rolls but thats ok by me. Omakase is enough for me I typically only eat sashimi anyway.

We did the omakase. It was one of the most unique omakase experiences that we have had. It was not just a bite of very fancy sushi for each course. There was a wide variety of Japanese food at each course. Some was cooked and some was raw. The last course was a large plate of sushi and sashimi. The overall quality of the food was excellent.

The best in Westchester. This is an authentic, Japanese style, sushi restaurant. It’s not about fancy creations. It’s about the fish. Always the freshest, beautifully prepared, and absolutely delicious. The staff is friendly and Sam, the sushi chef and owner is friendly and attentive. Not cheap, but worth every penny!

We love Hajime! The sushi is great and could be served in Tokyo's Shinagawa Station. The service is impeccable and the cooks are happy to help you choose the best dishes.Dietary restrictions: They have gluten free soy sauce available
