Lots of delis with cooked food behind a glass however KJB has a big selection with fresh food. How can I tell the food was fresh? Answer - food was brought out in front of me that was just made. Including cheese pupasas right from the pan, yummmmm I tried the beef soup and it tasted like it was made by mom. The broth was soupy and not thick. Beef was meaty and tender, corn, carrots and cabbage was cooked just right. Along with the soup came a small side of fresh rice. Prices are good for the quantity/quality of food. I had a chance to speak to the owner and she is super friendly. Great job with the deli. I'll be back again to try the ribs and chicken which looked delicious!!!

Hanging around Hempstead one afternoon, I came across this deli. It has a great assortment of food choices, whether it is breakfast or lunch time. I ordered the Reuben sandwich, which is top-notch, along with an order of fries. The dessert choices are excellent-rice pudding, chocolate pudding and different types of cake. The food is reasonably priced and the staff is very professional and helpful. If you like your delis simple and easy, this is the perfect one for you.
