Pretty bad these days. Last time we went the food was inedible almost. The taste was not South Indian at all. Only the gulab jamun which probably came out of a can was edible. They obviously switched cooks and probably a cheaper one but the customers are suffering. I am done with this place. Not sure why businesses do this to themselves.

Quality of food went down. We were there last weekend and food didn't look fresh. Service was horrible. Music from the party hall was too loud. Not a cool place for good Indian food.

Second time in the last 2 weeks I attempted to place an order through Yelp with Godavari. The first time I got a message 15 minutes after placing the order stating the business does not have enough drivers and the order was canceled. Now I placed an order and only 30 minutes later got a call saying the restaurant is apparently closed.

Ever since they moved to their new location their food taste bad. I'm a regular customer mostly I do pick ups biriyani and garlic naan. Last two time I ordered special chicken biriyani it tasted horrible and the naan tasted like frozen roti. Not ordering from this place anymore.

The food was excellent. Always tastes great and never hurts my stomach after. I eat here all the time. The only problem is the service is a little slow. Also, they just moved locations so before to head to Old Country Rd. not South Broadway. Their new place says "SPICE" but it is really Godavari.

All - please note location is closed and the new place charges $24 for Fathers Day vegetarian and non veg buffet. Waste of money and they kept running out of food. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

I ate at this restaurant a few months ago with some friends, and had the absolute worst service experience. The waiter ignored our table, while taking care of the other customers (who came AFTER we did). We were the only non-Indian customers at the time so this could be the reason? (not bringing race into this but it was odd!) Never got refills on water even though we dying of thirst from the spicy food. Our plates were never taken away from the table. Took (not exaggerating) an hour to bring our check. AND to top it off, we never received change back. We were so fed up that we just gave up and left. I do not recommend this place.

I wish I could give a 0 star instead. I recommended this restaurant to a group of friends because I love their Hyderabadi dum biryani. After a long day of work, my friends and I drove from the Bronx to eat there last night, (Friday, May 11th around 8:15 PM). We first placed an order of appetizers and drinks (which came on time). Next, we placed orders of 3 Hyderabadi dum biryani. My friends and I were catching up and we realized it was almost 9:45 PM but the food did not come to our table. We were looking around and those who placed orders way after us received their food. We asked the young waiter politely and he said it will take "5 more minutes". Then it ended up being 10:15 PM and the waiter was still saying "5 more minutes". Later another Bengali speaking staff comes and tells us that "Your waiter is new to the store so he canceled the order in the iPAD". Basically the order never even went through. And the manager was saying "There's lots of biryani orders so this happened". Umm that is a reason to make customers wait 2.5 hours for the main course? Around 10:30PM/10:45 PM, we decided to just leave. But they said they will pack biryani for us. And it still took them 30 minutes to give food in the box (and they only packed 2 biryanis, not 3). The manager and the young male waiter were so unapologetic. Only one of them (who spoke in Bangla), was polite and felt bad for us. Although they offered 'complimentary' biryani which we took home, it dry and old (it wasn't like their typical Hyderabadi biryani). I have eaten there before and it seemed nothing like it. WORST EXPERIENCE I swear. I felt so embarrassed that I recommended this place to my friends and they all drove from the Bronx to Long Island. So you can imagine how pathetic the experience was. My point is: if you ran out of biryani, you could've told us so we would order something else. They basically made us wait for hours by keeping on stating "5 more minutes..". At the end we still paid $63 for 2 appetizers and drinks. Normally customers who went through this kinda trauma shouldn't have to pay a penny. Like what kind of restaurant makes customers wait for 2.5 hours for food?? I get it must have been a crazy mistake on the waiter and mistakes happen but everyone was so unapologetic. We left the place around 11:00PM, extremely starved. Godavari was one of my fav spots to eat Hyderabadi biryani. But I don't think I will go back now.

Worst experience ever! We sat there for 2 hours without receiving our order. We asked for our order 5 times and everytime we asked they apologized saying it's coming in 5 minutes for an hour! The manager was not apologetic. She in fact had an attitude.

We've been eating here for a little over a year now , since they 1st opened. Food is delicious - and if you like spice this is the place. Of course you can order mild, but the 555chicken is my favorite

Definitely one of the worst indian buffets I have ever been to. I came with a friend to eat at Diwan, but since It seemed packed, we figured we would try out Godavari. At first their options looked enticing with random dishes of quail, rabbit, chicken, and a large amount of vege dishes but each dish lacked flavor or the authenticity of south indian food. As per my usual at buffets, I did my best to try a small amount of everything and everything managed to lack flavor. The service was almost even worse. When we came in, we were escorted to a random table right away but after being seated no one came back to check on us until over an hour into our visit. Around that time, we had a server come and ask if we wanted any dosas to go with our entrees. By that time, we had already finished with the main course and were on our desserts. Then when we received the check, they had the nerve to automatically add in gratuity even though no one had come to do anything until the end of our visit. Even the plates from our main courses sat at the corner of our tables until we got up to ask for the check. Overall the service and quality of food was severely lacking. Neither of us were satisfied by our meal and there are definitely much better places to get indian food in Hicksville than here. Neither of us will likely come back to try the food here again.
